11/29/24 Went to a wedding here last Friday. I can't say enough about this fantastic venue!! The lake was beautiful and we had an outdoor ceremony. Swans and ducks in the lake made for a picture perfect wedding! We were able to help ourselves to hit apple cider and other beverages to enjoy during the ceremony. The service was friendly and polite and ohhhh the food!!!! Appetizers like sushi-cheese sticks-raw oyster bar- Mexican station- Mediterranean Station, Fruit Station and my fave- the bacon station!! The bacon station featured delicious bacon Mac n cheese- chocolate dipped bacon , candied bacon, bacon wrapped dates and bacon wrapped scallops! Also there were crab cake sliders- pizza- mini Stromboli's, cheesesteak sliders and more more MORE!!! Buttered appetizers were served- mini quesadillas shaped like a horn, chicken and mini waffles- coconut shrimp, raspberry cream mini pasteries and more more MORE!! This wedding was incredible!! I was obsessed with the cocktail hour here. It was seriously one of the best I've ever been to. They had so many tasty passed appetizers, and the setup was huge without being overwhelming. The whole vibe of the place is cozy but elegant, especially with the lakeside views. read more

We attended a wedding on Saturday and everything was outstanding. We were greeted with champagne when we entered which was lovely touch. A coat check- great! The cocktail hour was on the bottom floor and there was no shortage of food. From an open bar, to the pizza station, the Mexican station, fruit & charcuteries, oyster & shrimp cocktail, the Mediterranean & Asian themed pasta stations - everything was absolutely delicious! They also had staff passing around more appetizers. The downstairs was beautifully decorated for Christmas tree with a nice roaring fire. The staff were so friendly and nice. One member even noticed my friends card and helped us try to find the card box. There was one waitress who was going through it emotionally. She looked like she was crying in the back everytime she wasn't doing something guest facing... maybe being a cater waiter ain't for you girl. They had someone ring a nice little xylophone to indicate it was time to go upstairs. On your way upstairs they gave you a hot towel to wipe off before heading up. The upstairs was beautiful with the chandeliers, built in sound system and the amazing tall center pieces. The wedding party came through a door in the middle of the dance floor and we danced the night away. The couple even provided flip flops for those no longer wanting to wear heels The dinner service was divine! We had 4 different options for entrees with wine at dinner. I had the beef and it was luxurious and delicate, melt in your mouth. Photo Booth and bar upstairs which were great hits. Since we were there in winter, it was already dark when we arrived or we would have been able to enjoy the scenery. DJ was great, loads of options for dessert, and the bathrooms were nicely stocked with everything one might need. There was also a late night food station of cookies and breakfast sandwiches which was just such a great idea. Overall one of the best weddings I've been to. read more

I attended this place for a wedding. It was a very exquisite spot with two floors. The first floor was where the cocktail hour was held, and the second floor was for the actual reception. The service was extremely accommodating and friendly. The cocktail hour at this particular wedding was loaded. There was a mac and cheese station, a raw bar, a variety of pizza and sliders as well as a Mediterranean station, a taco station, meats, and cheeses, etc. My favorite item was the lobster and shrimp mac and cheese. It was cheesy, but not overly done with plenty of pieces of fish. The clams and shrimp at the raw bar were another highlight as they were fresh. The only item I had that I was not a fan of was the falafel. They were fried too long and had a little kick at the end, which was different, but not ideal. Besides that, the food I had was tasty. For dinner, the starter was a roasted pear and cheese salad. It consisted of baby greens, roasted pears, stilton cheese, cranberries, strawberries, and walnuts with a honey raspberry vinaigrette. This was solid. The fruit worked well with the cheese and walnuts while the vinaigrette enhanced the overall dish. For my main entrée, I chose the chateaubriand. It was a filet of beef tenderloin with a sauce forestiere and twice baked potatoes. There was also a side of carrots and asparagus. This was good. The beef was cooked to a medium rare. The sauce was the key here. The potatoes and vegetables were solid as well. Will I go back? Easily. read more

Went to this place for a wedding, so my perspective is from an attendee. Very nice and spacious place. Has two big floors and a nice outdoor space. There was an elevator between floors you could use. The scenery is very nice. The grounds themselves were very well kept, so it was nice to walk around. Very Instagram worthy. It was nice to be able to go inside/outside freely. Food and service was very good and very efficient, given the sheer number of people at the event. During the wedding, there was staff around, which was nice as an attendee if I had the random question about things, but at the same time I didn't feel like I was being watched or anything. Bathrooms seemed small, especially since it seemed like the place could hold a ton of people. At the same time there might have been rooms/areas I didn't see or have access to. But the bathrooms were equipped with things like safety pins, shout wipes, mints, etc for any last minute mishaps, which was a nice touch. Kinda far from Manhattan, if that matters but accessible enough via NJ transit. Anyway, I had fun here. I secretly hope another friend will get married here so I can visit again. read more

I truly cannot day enough good things about the Mill Lakeside Manor in regards to the venue, but the staff as well. My best friend got married a few days ago at the Mill and right when entering the property you can't help, but to say "wow it's gorgeous here!" The grounds are well kept (gorgeous flowers and plants!) and it's a quaint, classic and serene feel. Now this is where the 5 stars come in... the staff is INCREDIBLE! You can only imagine of a bride's wedding day they might be a bit overwhelmed and anxious, but the staff onsite make sure that you have everything you need and are right by your side! As a bridesmaid I was extremely impressed with the bridal suite, it had EVERYTHING you could think of! On top of that, we asked for coffee with almond milk and the nice woman said we don't have any, but I can go and get some. OH MY GOD! Seriously? We felt awful and said no please don't go out of your way we were just curious! And guess what? She came back with almond milk! That is above and beyond great customer service. Unfortunately an hour before the wedding it started to DOWNPOUR - the event planner asked the bride what she wants to do since the wedding was outside and she wanted to wait it out so they set up for outside AND inside even though the floor was already set for the reception. Now THAT is amazing customer service and totally put my best friend at ease! If I had a lot of family in NJ I would love to plan my future wedding at the Mill just because of the experience I had as a bridesmaid. read more

How to make a wedding as magical for the guests as it is for Bride and Groom. It's always exciting to be invited to a wedding, a new beginning, a trusted bond, romance, tears (the happy kind), and being welcomed to share in the love as the couple takes their first steps in thier forever. We were, like all the guests there honored to be part of this next adventure into the future. As you enter the venue, usually before the BIG entrance of the happy couple you take in your surroundings, say hello to family and friends, and absorb the aesthetics created for that once-in-a-lifetime day. Some wedding halls do it better than others, and last night was truly one of those nights. Beautiful rich woodwork adorned the comforting and warm cocktail reception area with delicacies including freshly made mozzarella combined with my husband's beeline for the Oysters. Each station, each dish better than the last, forcing me to make a mental note to try and leave some room for the dinner. The reception room was rich in a white opulence that truly made you feel as if you'd enter Cinderella's ball and dreading the stroke of midnight so you didn't have to make a hasty exit. A beautifully decorated entryway had guests transfixed as they introduced the families, bridal party, and last but never least, the guests of honor. I have to mention that Emma our table waitress was attentive, sweet, kind, and quick on her feet. I loved the precision in which she had all the servers place the plates in front of the guests in perfect unison as if a drill sergeant had clicked thier heels with a signal that only the team knew. Maitre'd Richard McConney was there throughout the event making sure that each detail was attended to with an easy smile and a warm heart. Kudos to the team at the Mill Lakeside Manor, your food exceptional, your service perfection, and the evening a great success. Kudos to making the start of our cousins' new life together with a truly magical one. read more

4.5 stars. I've celebrated two occasions here. The first was my friend's wedding in 2008 and most recently, my sister's bridal shower a few weeks ago. My sister's sister in law booked the room on the first floor with a partial view of the lake/patio area. It was very lovely! They don't allow outside food so no candy buffet. We were allowed to have microwave popcorn as a favor though. And soap! Hey, it is a shower! There is a 40 person minimum so be sure to take the extra meals home; you did pay for them! The wait staff was friendly and super accommodating. They took our orders and carefully packed up our leftover food and cake. We felt a bit rushed towards the end of the afternoon as they were trying to set up for the wedding. One of the servers looked a little odd as he was packing up all of the leftover cake and cheesecake. Overall, a lovely place for a special occasion. Not sure if I would choose this place on my own, but I did enjoy myself. read more

The Mill Lakeside Manor... where to even start. Well, I guess I can start by saying that as I am writing this, my new husband and I are polishing the leftover food containers (they give you every plate you touched and did not finish in to-go containers at the end of the night). Everything tastes phenomenal and we literally mean everything. This is not an exaggeration. Aside from the food everyone has been raving about for days... I had a significant dress mishap before getting to the Mill. Lada and Richard fixed my dress in a matter of minutes upon arrival and relieved all my jitters. The entire staff was insanely helpful and sweet from start to finish. The Mill holds every couple to a GOLD standard, not silver, not bronze. Gold. We are still in a wedding haze (4 days ago) and had to get the word out there about our experience. If anyone is considering the Mill for their special day, allow this to be your sign. Every bride and groom should feel the way this place made us feel. We had the most amazing views on the lake, in the garden, from the balcony. We felt like we were in a fairytale. Everything was so vibrant and aesthetically pleasing. Gorgeous photos taken on the dock, in the garden, even in front of those beautiful doors! Photos that we will cherish forever. The Mill puts effort into every minuscule detail. Last night we enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco given by the Mill with our last name and wedding date on it!!! I had countless guests tell me that this was the best wedding they have ever been to. I have to say, the moment we went in the right direction to the best wedding ever, was when we chose The Mill as our venue. I'll be nudging every bride and groom I know towards The Mill, my husband and I are dying to get into that magical place again. read more

Off the beaten path from all the other places. Located on a small pond. The pond could use some algae eating animals in there but eating at night, the restaurant had lights that showed the water at night & we could see some beautiful swans & loads of fish & turtles. The turtles are hysterical as they actually beg for food! Inside the place is very attractive & has a nice menu. We ordered the cold seafood platter and added some lollypop lamb chops and shrimp cocktail. Enjoyed our food very much & had fun feeding the turtles bread - boy do they fight with each other to get the food! Service was pleasant & everyone was very friendly. read more

This place looks 5 star.. but once you go inside.. you lost that 5 star quality. I went here for brunch with the family.. but our service was terrible. We had to ask three times for the milk to put in our coffee.. we also had to get up to get our own sugars from a different table. Our waiter also came over every once inawhile.. and got our drink orders mixed up. When you go here for brunch, you get one free alcoholic drink with your meal.. I ordered the bellini.. and it was watered down. Not quality bellini.. The mimosa was okay... but you can tell that the quality of champagne is not good. The food quality is pretty good though. I thought that seafood rollup, omelet station, meatballs, and desserts were good. The cakes are delicious. My favorite was the blueberry cheesecake. It's been ages since I've been to the Mill at Spring Mill Heights. It's been so long, the restaurant was actually called the Old Mill Inn the last time I was there. I was excited to go back with my family to celebrate my dad's birthday recently. We started off at the bar to have a drink since we arrived during happy hour. We took a spot by the door so that we could face the lake. During happy hour, martinis were $6 and craft beer bottles were $3-$4. I went with a martini that included vodka, sparkling wine and pineapple juice. For something with so much liquor it wasn't super strong. It wasn't as bubbly as I would have thought and the flavor was a little flat. I had a sip of the lemon drop martini and that was much better. Moving along to the dining room, we were seated at the perfect table next to the window overlooking the lake. We were able to watch the swans, ducks and geese swim and fly during our entire visit. As animal lovers and amateur bird watching enthusiasts, this was definitely a nice bonus. The lake view was picturesque and can be enjoyed by anyone, even if you don't enjoy birds. Our visit lined up with Jersey Shore Restaurant week, although half our party was enticed by their regular Sunday prix fixe menu. The soup of the day enticed me enough to go with the Sunday prix menu which consisted of your choice of a select appetizer, entrée and dessert. The soup was a spicy corn chowder with shrimp and chili, which actually turned out to be my least favorite part of the meal. It came to me lukewarm and I had to double-check to see if it was supposed to be served that way. It actually was supposed to come out hot, so I ended up sending it back to the kitchen. By the time it was served to me, the rest of the party was well done their appetizers. The soup itself fell a little flat. There weren't many pieces of shrimp and it wasn't spicy. It was also more like a broth than a chowder. I'm hoping I misunderstood the description and it was meant to be more broth like. It was also a little frustrating that my soup was originally brought to the table, but a spoon was forgotten. I had a bite of the Seared Duck Breast with rhubarb, strawberry and charred spring onion and thought it was excellent. The duck was juicy and tender and the preparation was unique. The entrée redeemed my meal. I opted for the seafood crepe and was happy with my choice. It consisted of crepe stuffed with scallops, crab meat and shrimp, topped with a lobster sherry sauce. It was served with garlic mashed potatoes and some grilled squash and carrots. The crepe was nicely prepared and the sherry sauce was rich and creamy. The crepe wasn't overly stuffed so this would be a good option if you aren't looking for a huge entrée. The veggies were a little overdone and lacked seasoning, but the mashed potatoes were great. I also had a tasting of a Petite Filet Mignon (medium rare) salsa verde, potato cannelloni and watercress salad from my mom's plate and thought that was really nicely prepared. The salsa verde was an interesting accompaniment to the steak and I thought it added a great, unique flavor. I can't continue the review without mentioning the bread. We were served this great sourdough bread sliced up into pieces with oil, chive butter and honey butter. The butters were phenomenal and the bread came fresh and hot. Finally for dessert, I opted for the cheesecake. The slice was absolutely ginormous. We all had our own dessert, but there was more than enough to share. It came with a side of raspberry and raspberry sauce, and was good to the last bite. I also had a bite of the Key Lime pie and Grilled Coffee Cake vanilla ice cream. The coffee cake had a nice crisp to it and excellent cinnamon flavoring. Aside from the soup incident, the service was pretty good. Our server and busser were friendly and attentive and professional. While I didn't love every aspect of my experience, between the overall satisfaction of my family and the scenic atmosphere, I will give the Mill a four star rating. read more

The bald man with the glasses was so rude and kept rolling his eyes at us. He refused to help us multiple times, and even told us to ask someone else. If you are looking for the perfect wedding venue, look no further. With the ongoing pandemic and uncertainty, we postponed our original wedding date and moved to The Mill from Clarks Landing Point Pleasant to accommodate the wedding outdoors. Kristen & the team were amazing to work with giving us various options to have our wedding safely. Planning a wedding during COVID is extremely stressful & I can't say how thankful I was to have had an amazing team to work with to put me at ease. Kristen, Nicole, Judy, Jackie and team did an amazing job listening to our vision and pulling the details together within such a short timeframe. It blew my expectations completely out of the water and that was only the planning process pre-wedding! For our wedding day, the service was top notch from the bridal attendants to the staff. They ensured my husband and I were fed, always had a drink in our hands and even had eyelash glue to help with my eyelashes that were coming off (who would have thought!) The whole team, especially Judy and Jackie, made everything run so smoothly while ensuring all guests felt safe with the ongoing pandemic. I give them major kudos since they made it look so easy! To this day, all my guests still rave about the delicious and plethora of food (bacon me crazy cocktail hour station - highly recommend!) the gorgeous grounds and the quality and professionalism of service from the staff. Started off with 10 different apps bruschetta lobster rolls crab potato puffs calamari etc all of it great. Tasted chicken sea bass stuffed flounder filet mignon It was excellent!!! Then had tons of desserts all fabulous. Every time I go here it's better than the last. Beautiful ambiance super cool bar great lighting romantic and modern. Have to go. read more

The scenery and land is very beautiful and serene and a great place for a wedding - which was why i was here. We also had the rehearsal dinner here and the food was mediocre at best. They did however have this yummy chocolate LAVA cake :) don't forget to order it a la mode because it's not included! i ordered lamb which was very tendon-y and not too flavorful. Shrimp dishes, stuff fish and chicken were ok to not good. The place was fancy and nice, but make sure you get to sample what you're going to eat if you're thinking of having a wedding here - the bride agrees. read more

I just attended an afternoon wedding here. The staff were very friendly and the service was good, but not outstanding. The setting was very pleasant and the grounds had beautiful plantings. The food was typical catering hall fare- ok, but not really what you would get at a good restaurant. For catered food, it was ok, not great. I had a good size piece of salmon as a dinner entree, but the teriyaki "glaze" was a cloyingly-sweet syrup and a side of vegetables that were almost raw. The salad had tasteless tomatoes. The Italian wedding soup was respectable. Perhaps they have better offerings at higher price points. If I were choosing a venue, I certainly could do worse, but there are better places in the area. My husband and I just got married here and I cannot say enough good things about this place. Beau was a phenomenal point person. From the beginning Beau portrayed the attitude that our wedding meant as much to him as it did to us. Liz, Ryan, and Gabriel were all fantastic to work with as well. Lindsay really cared about things going well for us and was so helpful, kind, and respectful about things (like food allergies) and was amazing with our son who is 6. I can honestly say I will miss interacting with all of these people now that the wedding is over. The food was out of this world. The cocktail hour was a hit, I loved all the mini foods! The reception area is gorgeous with huge windows and a beautiful view of the pond. Dinner was excellent and served timely and with great style. They even serve seconds. We have our yearly Christmas party here & every year the Mill does a top notch job. It is nicely decorated & has a warm feel to it. The view off the back of the 'party' room is beautiful but it was a bit chilly to actually go outside. This years dinner was a buffet however we have had sit down meals in the past. There is a decent variety of food (which our boss had chosen), but all was tasty. Service was very good, as were the drinks. I have not eaten dinner in the restaurant area of the Mill in many years so can not comment on that other than it is warm & inviting. I am thinking of trying a happy hour in the near future. read more

No, no, no, no, no... 4 and 5-star reviews are a bit of a stretch here. I realize that location matters. And down in these parts, there's not a lot of good food, so "The Mill" probably stands out a bit more than it actually deserves. I've been coming to "The Mill" since I was a kid. Actually, that's not true. I've been coming to *The Old Mill Inn* since I was a kid. I think a guy named Joe Amiel once owned it. I know that because my parents used to always talk to him. He was always there, mingling with patrons. And that was one of the things that made The Old Mill Inn special. The other thing that made The Old Mill Inn special was the decor and ambiance. I realize that you can't keep everything preserved exactly the way you remember it forever. Well, sure enough, when the new owners took the place over and renamed it simply "The Mill," the decor and ambiance changed -- not so significantly that you can't feel the friendly ghost of the Old Mill Inn all around you. But it's more modern, trendy, and sophisticated. So is the menu. Our most recent trip was for lunch on a Saturday. It's nice to know you can now go to a place like this and enjoy a fairly inexpensive lunch menu with good, solid, pub-like fare during a quiet afternoon before they parade out all the frou frou fanfare for the deeper-pocketed dinner crowd. It's all pretty good. Not great, but good. The setting is nice. The service is great. But when you package it all up and get the bill -- especially at dinner -- you may wind up asking yourself whether it's so worth it that you'd come back time and again. I was here recently with my family to celebrate my parent's 45th wedding anniversary. First let me say that I experienced impeccable service, from the hostess to our server to the busperson who gushed over my nephew and then offered to take a picture of the family. It was relaxed and we were never rushed in any way. So the three stars I'm giving The Mill really reflects the food. It's just...average. I ordered the lobster bisque. It was tasty, but zero pieces of seafood to be found. I don't require a chunky soup - lobster bisque shouldn't be - but a little bite or two of lobster elevates it. Next on to the crab cakes. I knew when I saw the perfectly formed cakes coated in bread crumbs that I was in for an underwhelming crab cake experience. They relied on the sauce for flavor and had an overly processed texture I tried some bites of other things. Nothing stood out. I ordered a peach sangria and it tasted like seltzer water. If you're not an adventurous diner or you have a bland palette, you'd probably enjoy the food. I'm not saying it was bad, just that it was forgettable. read more

They cut back on alot of the food, low budget presentation, the 2 stars is for dessert, good selection was presented. This Mill is a hidden gem! Most the the pictures on this page are outdated! There is new ownership who completely flipped the property from a drab restaurant to a 5 star wedding venue! I just hosted my sister's bridal shower at The Mill, and it was a huge success! We held the event in a closed-off room with high ceilings and tons of sunlight. The room sits right next to the outdoor porch, which was easily accessible to all of the guests. The porch overlooks the creek, so it made for some nice and convenient photo ops. We opted for the brunch buffet event package that comes with a complimentary mimosa or bloody mary, assorted brunch fare, and desserts. The food was surprisingly good (compared to most buffets) and they get bonus points for actually cooking runny yolks in the poached eggs! I can't vouch for the quality of the desserts because we wanted to personalize and bring our own, but the available options in the package looked very enticing. The planners we worked with were extremely accommodating and willing to customize the package to our preferences. We worked with Vanessa the day of the event, and she was fantastic! Very organized and made a big effort to make sure that she got a good sense of our vision. The staff was also friendly and helpful. The cost of the event came out to about $50/person, but I think it was well worth it for the level of service and how beautifully the event turned out to be. read more

I love the lounge at The Mill. It's the best secret. Happy hour until 7pm great drink and food specials. Then live music after 7/8pm on Friday and Saturday. Such a laid back vibe, good food, and very reasonable prices. Bar staff is really nice too. And the view of the lake is so beautiful. What a great night out. read more

After recently getting married at The Mill Lakeside Manor, I truly can't say enough great things about this venue. The staff is absolutely superb; catering to all of our needs throughout the wedding process, always being respectful and always having a smile on their face. Their etiquette blew us away with every small detail that really showed that they think of everything. The food... I am truly upset that I can't eat here every day. The cocktail hour in my opinion and by so many of my guests, was the best food display and quality I've ever eaten. As a newlywed it is difficult to get to enjoy some of the perks for your day, and the staff always made sure we had food in our hands and a drink at the ready. The entrees and service at the reception exceeded our expectations and we were glowing at everyone's elation to the quality and service. What can sometimes be a stressful and tiring day turned out to be calm, relaxed and amazing day thanks to the staff and their efforts. Thank you for giving me the best day of my life. read more

My husband and I have been here twice within the last month. The food (we had various types of seafood), is incredibly fresh and prepared with the best ingredients. During dinner last night, Chef Matthew came to our table to ask our opinion on the specials we ordered. He and his team have wonderful vision regarding the pairing of foods, for example, scallops prepared with 'crunchy rice'. Sounds bizarre, but I assure you, it was delicious! The setting is beautiful as well. There is a lake outside the dining room, which makes for a romantic setting. The staff is friendly and attentive. Overall, we had excellent dining experiences. As others have pointed out, The Mill has gone through quite a few different ownerships over the years. I hadn't been in a while and on the recommendations of neighbors, we tried it this past weekend. Its very pricey -- but they have a prix fix available before 6pm. So - if you can handle the 'early bird' dining, its quite good value. We were able to get an early reservation on the day off (a Saturday night on MLK weekend)-- and we've also been told that the place is pretty empty after 7pm or so as the early bird diners finish up. I'd say the dining room was about 1/4 full when we arrived and got slightly busier as the evening went on. The crowd was mixed -- couples, nicely dressed families celebrating birthdays etc. Our service was very good -- in fact twice within a 3 minute time frame, two different people - who I assume to be in the ownership group -- stopped by to see how our meal was. The food was excellent -- the $27 prix fix got you an appetizer, entree and dessert. Portion size is quite generous and you have a lot to choose from. And each of us thoroughly enjoyed each course. Oddly, when it came time for coffee, I tried to order a cappucino but was told they were out of milk. They were also out of a fish from their regular menu too -- just surprising on a Saturday night (early in the evening!). We also tried to order the creme brule for dessert, but was told that the chef wasn't happy with how it turned out that evening. While we were slightly disappointed, we were happy to see that they wouldn't send anything out that wasn't up to snuff. Overall, really good food and a really good experience. However, given how pricey it is, I'd only go back for dinner if I was in 'early bird' mode. read more

I realized I haven't taken the time to post a review since our May 31st wedding. I am delighted that my family and I made the right choice in having my wedding at the Mill. I would recommend them to absolutely anyone. The scenery at the Mill is breathtaking as well as the many upgrades they have done. The impressively large fireplace, the deck overlooking the lake, the added fun element of the pool table in cocktail hour, the convenience of the bridal suite and groom's room, the exciting open kitchen and the wine, craft beer and cheese pairing station are just the beginning of what the Mill offers. What impressed even more than the view and décor has to be THE STAFF. When we first looked at the Mill Beau gave the tour and discussed our options with us. You can tell he enjoys his work. While he had to leave to for a while to go work at other properties, he checked back in with us in person later on. Ryan was our maître d and went beyond and above the call of duty, helping my father in law who is wheel chair bound make his entrance during introductions, and he also helped keep the groomsmen in line when they got a little wild. Prior to the big day Ryan was always a text away. My bridal suite attendant was always ready to serve and listened very well. I told her I was vegetarian and she made sure to bring us an assortment of hors d'oeuvres with no trace of meat in site; it wasn't just a plate a veggies either which I was experienced many times as a vegetarian. Liz was breathe of fresh air. Professional and also hilarious. I also cannot forget to mention the awesome piano player! We asked if he was available for cocktail hour and even though it was his BIRTHDAY he came in to play for us, stating that there is no place he would rather be. One of my coworkers told me their servers and bartenders were so good that she played "stump the bartender" and asked for muddled blueberries. The bartender immediately picked up her mic to ask the kitchen for them! (she let her know she was just kidding and didn't actually make her get them). I went here for a Father's Day dinner with my family and our neighbors. Overall, decent meal, but nothing mind blowing. The main appeal here is the location. You can enjoy a meal with the beautiful lake view, which is exactly why this restaurant was chosen. We were a party of 15. When we arrived, we were seated promptly. The restaurant was not very crowded, in the 3 hours we were there, there were maybe 4-5 smaller parties that came through. This leads me to my main complaint about the Mill: The wait for food was ridiculous. I know that we were a larger party, but we waited at least 20 minutes for the bread to come. My very pregnant friend was nearly ready to walk into the kitchen herself. Never deny a pregnant woman her carbs. I had the steak, which was very good. The side of vegetables was weirdly bitter, everyone at the table had the same complaint. The green and yellow squash was extremely un-ripe, ruining the flavor. I also had oysters, which were good but unremarkable, like most of the meal. The highlight for me was the steak, the rest was decidedly meh. The desserts were pretty bland and not worth the calories with the exception of the cheescake. Skip the profiteroles, I could have made better ones easily at home. If you feel like eating a mildly overpriced decent meal while looking at a lake, then this is the place. No one can hate this place, but there's nothing here to rave about either. read more
