I'll admit that even as an adult, I love feeding the farm animals. They're so cute! And Atlantic Farms has plenty of them - sheep, goats, cows, donkeys and even llamas. It's only $3 to get into the area where the animals are. You can purchase a bag of carrots to feed the animals for an additional $3. During the fall season, there is pumpkin picking, hayrides and a corn maze. It does get quite crowded on the weekends so come early. I definitely recommend coming here if you are from the area. Please, however, be courteous and throw out your trash. I witnessed several people throwing garbage on the ground, which is dangerous for the farm animals and is disrespectful to the family who owns the farm.

I thought it was going to be just for kids but adults will find it worth going to. Being a family run business, you see how cohesive the operation runs. Once in you see someone spinning alpaca wool into yarn. You talk to her and she explains the process and explains differences between alpaca and other wools. The whole thing is quite informative. Others explain that alpacas don't like being petted much, especially about the head. They are native mountain denizens, so keeping them cool during hot NJ summers is vital. 20 years is about their lifespan and they have usually just one offspring, occasionally twins, in an 11 month gestation period. Free snacks & apple cider & kids are allowed to climb on the tractors, plus there's a shop that sells yarn and other stuff women like. If you'd like to buy an alpaca, prices start at $500. Check it out, you may see an ostrich there too

They had an indoor area of all the gardening/yard supplies you'd need: pots, planters, yard tools, hoses, decorations, and more. There was also a very relaxing display of different garden water fountains and garden figurines. I walked around the entire center trying to decide which plants I should get, and then a very kind man came to offer me an ice cold bottle of water saying it was so hot outside. Turns out that was Mario, the owner of this garden center! I asked him for some advice on finding some plants or flowers that could tolerate full day of sun, and not only did he tell me which ones would work, he even helped me run around the center to plan out which plants to put together in a pot. As a complete gardening newbie (who sadly has killed way too many house plants), I was so relieved that Mario was unfazed when I asked him for easy plants that wouldn't die under my complete lack of care. I'm so glad I happened upon this garden center and met such a nice owner. Once I get a better idea of other plants and flowers I want to fill my garden with, I'll definitely come back!

I went through my day stress free without any type of professional coordinator (which was shocking for me!). marlyn handled absolutely every single detail and issue that arose. (Again, none of which were her fault lol.) Marlyn walked around with me, carried my bouquet, made sure my phone got to my good friend to snap some photos, made sure I had a drink in my hand every minute I wanted it, and just thought of absolutely everything. She even SCRUBBED the dirt off my dress from the rain so it was perfect. I cannot recommend this stunning venue enough! The parking lot is a little odd, but the Manor and its gardens are gorgeous. You walk in and you feel like you've entered an old rich relative's home. There is a small sitting room to your right where they have some beverages and fresh fruit out for guests to enjoy. They also decorate the room with pictures of the bride and groom, making it feel even more like a home, rather than a reception hall. The reception was out back so when the bride gives everyone the go-ahead, the guests will heading out the back to the gardens. (They also do indoor ceremonies in the winter and probably if it rains) There's a deck that leads you through some greenery and over a stream to the ceremony area. It's a pretty open space so the sun will beam down quite a bit. Looks great, but it can get a little warm for the guests. After the ceremony is done, the cocktail hour begins immediately, which is great for those of us who hate the long waits in between. There is seating on the deck and some more seating on another one of their lawns. There is also an indoor cocktail hour area for inclimate weather. As for food, they had veggie platters, cheeses, a selection of about 4 hot foods and a stir fry station. There were also servers walking around with a nice variety of hor dourves. Oh yea, and there was a bar with two bartenders that operated quickly enough that there wasn't much waiting around. Next to the reception. The hall isn't huge, but it makes for an intimate event. I feel like this is pretty personal to the couple and vendors, but the reception was very enjoyable. Food was all quite good. Everything was very nice. Overall, the wedding was great. For someone who is planning a wedding myself, I looked at everything as to whether or not I would like it for my wedding and I can say this place is really nice. What impressed me more than anything my surprise you and I swear I'm not an alcoholic, but it was the bartending. One bartender in particular was quite impressive. With about 150 people at the wedding, this bartender remembered your order with ease. I switched my beverage of choice and he kept on top of it the next time I went up. He was very quick and made a good drink. I know it's strange, but that guy was impressive and definitely enhanced the experience. The Allaire Historic Village is a gem! Within the village are preserved historic structures that…read moreonce served as part of a self-contained community built by James Allaire back in the 1800's. You'll find a general store, carpentry and pattern making shop, a blacksmith shop, bakery, boarding houses, a blast furnace, a church....and more. Inside these buildings are a volunteer staff demonstrating the skills of the trades. What made my experience amazing is the ability to converse with the staff, dressed in appropriate time period clothes, as they explained the historic craft demonstrations and history of the village. The village is non-profit and is able to stay opened by donations and volunteers. Other various events such as weddings and fairs help keep the village opened. My visit was during the 4th Annual BBQ and Brew. On site we're numerous food truck serving up BBQ. For those who aren't into BBQ, there were food trucks serving up sweet treats and sausage & peppers. Alcoholic beverages (beer) were behind a gated area where everyone is carded before admittence. Once inside, tickets at $6 a piece are purchased for redemtion of a drink of whatever you want. In addition to the BBQ and Brews, various vendors were on site selling their unique crafts and a live band was providing the tunes. It was a fun time experiencing and learning about the village. Unfortunately I am unable to afford a membership at a private golf club. Hopefully after my children finish college I may be able to swing it. Country club golfing is not just about the golf, it becomes your lifestyle. Social gatherings, Dinners, card games, cigar rooms, pool, gym, sauna etc. The staff at Eagle oaks are second to none, professional and kind. I was very impressed with the members I met, all very welcoming which is unusual. The course itself is top of the line, excellent conditions, perfectly rolled greens, tee boxes that are immaculate. Many dog legs, island par 3's and green grass. Not much more to say except if you get the opportunity to play the course....don't give it a second thought and bring your A game.
