I was visiting my friend for a few days and scheduled this as one of our outings . We were very…read moreexcited because who doesn't like lavender and alpacas...We arrived and drove up and overshot the dirt road where there was a bunch of cars. We turned around and noticed a small building with a young man sitting outside. We drove down the dirt road past a very small patch of lavender. ( maybe 40 or so plants) hardly a field! We parked next to all the cars and thought this was going to be good because there was quite a few cars. We quickly figured out that it was a private event . No signs ... nothing from stopping us from entering the private party. We walked over to the patch of lavender and decided to walk over to the farm store. The stand consisted of lavender plants selling for $ 30 for maybe a five gallon container .. inside there was soap and sachets which really had no scent what so ever. We walked out and asked the young man that was sitting outside if in fact it was a private party and he confirmed yes it was and that they weren't allowed to put up signs. ??? That Made no sense.. but what ever. He then said he was on the phone with his parents asking then what to do about us! Huh? We asked if we can go see the alpaca.. only one was by the fence . He said okay ... but they normally get $10!!! We declined and left . $10 to pet alpaca and look at a patch of lavender!!!! What a joke . The drive down the short dirt road would have been longer. Seriously a Waste of time if you think it's a place to spend some time. Do a google image and take a look for yourself... I wish we did.

The hotel is beautiful and it felt like every single piece of furniture and decorations were chosen intentionally. Perhaps the best part of our stay was the phenomenal, friendly and attentive service from manager Emily. Truly a gem of a person, and made sure everything we needed was available. Would also like to highlight that Emily reached out even before our stay begun to ask if we needed anything upon arrival or had any questions. All requests were met and Emily was prompt to answer all questions. I would highly recommend The James Bradley to anyone thinking of visiting. If you're looking for a quick vacation out of this city, this is the place, so easy to get to, the town has wonderful restaurants/bars and the beach was beautiful (even if it was too cold to hang out). Can't wait to find a reason to return.

I'm all for minimalism but there needs to be functionality behind it. As for breakfast; more gluten free options please! And the soft boiled eggs we chose were either cooked too hard or way undercooked. The yogurt and fruit was delicious! Our server was great.

This place has a lot going for it if you can do stairs. Third floor room was clean and comfortable…read moreeven if decor was showing its age. Good shower, plenty of hot water. A/C window unit was a little noisy but did the job even in 90+ weather. Breakfasts were excellent with options for side dishes. Good location one block from the beach on a quiet street. The wrap-around porch has plenty of seating and is a lovely setting for breakfast. The dining room is rather charmless but large with plenty of seating. Coffee and iced tea available all day. The only bummer was the umbrella. Pro tip: Do not pay $15 to rent an umbrella for a day. The umbrella was poor quality with plastic ribs that collapsed in the wind. We couldn't use it - had to take it down. But the manager refused a refund. The response was, "It was a windy day." Yes, it was a windy day. There are a lot of windy days at the beach. And on this particular windy day everybody else's umbrellas were standing up just fine. None of them were collapsed to half the size like this one.

I feel like they really care about their guests' experience. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The AC could be better, though. I love the breakfast. I don't know why others are hating on it. They usually have a few options to chose from. The overnight oats are always good. I love that they have hot and iced coffee and usually some type of iced tea. We love hanging out on the comfortable wrap around porch in the evenings. It's a nice environment. And it's very close to the beach!

The beer here is simply outstanding. If you are scouring the Garden State for the best beer…read morepossible, you're in the right spot. But I'll get to that in a moment. The taproom is on another level as well. One might say it resembles a millennial hipster fever dream, but being a millennial myself I say it is incredibly well thought out and designed. Housed in a former manufacturing facility for a company that made military telecommunications equipment, there are so many different spaces all under one roof. A bar in the front room and a bar in the back room. A small 21+ lounge with couches in the front, and a giant 21+ "sports zone" with three giant TV's in the back. Three coolers for beer to go. A large merch area. High top tables. Regular tables. Immaculate bathrooms. This place has it all. My girlfriend and I came out on a Saturday afternoon when the place was packed with families and their kids. There was a toddler in the small 21+ lounge and a baby in the sports zone, and only two people pouring beers so they were unable to notice and do anything about it. We don't mind kids in breweries but be advised if that isn't your thing. To the beer: according to their website, they specialize in hoppy beers. There were 13 beers on tap (with some being slight variations of each other). One lager, four stouts, and the rest IPAs. They don't do flights but will pour you two sample sizes at a time, and you'll need those sample sizes for most beers because the ABV will knock you off your feet. I love IPAs and I can easily say they knocked these out of the park. The standout to me was the Birdie Putt, which they didn't have available in cans to go, so we got a four pack of the Ground Rule Triple instead. Founder Jeff Baker spent years honing his brewing skills in his garage before opening the brewery in 2023, and his dedication and passion really show in all of the beers. We live over an hour away, but we will definitely make the pilgrimage back sometime soon.

If this brewery were in Hopewell, Troon wouldn't stand a chance…read more This place clearly specialises in hazy IPAs, and it shows in both quality and range. The tap list is smartly organised by style--pale ale, IPA, double IPA, triple IPA, and even quad IPA--making it easy to navigate whether you want something approachable or fully saturated. On my visit there were also a handful of non-IPA options, including three stouts and two lagers, one of which was a dark lager, so there's still something for everyone. The space itself sets it apart: a large, open taproom with ample seating, plus a second taproom ideal for hosting events. There's a strong to-go game as well, with two coolers packed with cans. In warmer months, the outdoor areas add even more room to spread out and linger. Clean, well-maintained bathrooms round things out. A destination brewery that takes hazy IPA seriously and backs it up with the space and execution to match.
