We were headed north on 75 and pulled into Lima for a quick dinner. The Met was a fabulous find! I had the Nashville Hot Chicken at the recommendation of the waitstaff, it was really juicy and a tasty blend of hot and tangy for the sauce. My wife had the shrimp tacos. She raved about those. I also had a side of their strawberry salad. I was warned the some people find the dressing spicy. I found it delicious. I was upset that I couldn't get a drink and I was too full for dessert, but hopefully there will be a next time. read more

On a business trip to Ohio, we took a lunch stop here as one of my colleagues saw The Met online on a search. When we walked in, this place looked very big. Options on the menu were quite good. One of us ordered a burger and two of us ordered the Shrimp Tacos. While we were waiting it seemed like all of the people who were eating there knew each other, may be as this was right downtown and the town is pretty small. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had more than one room and all the rooms had a unique modern decor that was really pleasant to sit. The food was very tasty for all of us, but it took quite long for us to get our food. I would definitely recommend everyone to visit this place. I hope the delay in getting the food out was just a temporary thing; as I saw some work being done near their kitchen and every place is short staffed right now, so I would definitely know their struggles . read more

What a Charming place! Everyone was happy including customers and workers and it is clean. Food is varied and good. Lots of delicious sounding specialty drinks. I tried hot toddy. It was strong and warming. I ordered half Mediterranean salad. It was good. Not spectacular, but good. Pita bread was too charred and salad needed more dressing, but waitress cheerfully corrected it for me. Service outstanding. Lots of waitresses. Husband ordered Korean fried chicken sandwich and it was very good. Crispy and decadent. Not too spicy hot. We have never been to Lima. Easy to find this place and lots of easy parking in lot. I have a recommendation pertaining to the BBQ smoked brisket sandwich. The meat should be cooked until very tender and moist. Cutting it into undercooked cubes does not work in a sandwich without making an embarrassing mess for the patron. read more

My wife and I had really good food here. We had the spinach/artichoke dip. This is one of those dishes that is like marinara in an Italian joint. If they get this wrong, there is not much hope for the rest of the menu. It was excellent. The cheese on top was brown and bubbly, and the chunks of artichoke inside were delicious. We also had Lakehouse Shrimp. It reminded me of a dish I ran into at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer several years ago. Shrimp in a very nice sopping sauce and plenty of bread with which to sop. For dessert was the key lime pie. Very well done with a flaky crust. There was also an Ohio-exclusive (to my knowledge) citrus creamy liquor that complemented it very well. My only problem were some kids that were also dining there. Perhaps, more accurately, the problem was the parents not having control of their children. There was a girl climbing all over a large couch where they were seated, at one point falling and yelping when she took an unexpected tumble. The child was also allowed to run, literally run, throughout the restaurant, with the mother in hot pursuit. I have worked in restaurants before and in times past the manager would have approached the parents and said, "Ma'am, your child is disturbing our other diners. You will either have to keep them under control or come back when you can." Other than the kids the place has a wonderful ambiance and would be a great place to take a date. read more

Loved The Met. My wife and I were travelling to Cincinnati and looked around Yelp and found The Met in downtown Lima. It was a perfect stop. Great food, friendly service and an interesting space. We enjoyed a chicken sandwich and burger, both well prepared and flavorful. Stopped for lunch on my way back from a business trip and left extremely satisfied. Food: I ordered "The Pit" and I couldn't believe my taste buds, I mean wow. The pulled pork had a Great Smokey flavor. The jalapeños and jalapeño slaw were delicious and created an awesome blend of flavor. Service: Friendly and helpful. I had a very nice meal at the Met while in town on business. This place was quite unexpected and makes you feel like you are truly not in Lima, Ohio. The interior is really sleek and I enjoy the use of the old bookcases as a wine cellar. Their selection of wine is incredible and if they don't have something you want on their list they will open whatever you want up. They also have a nice list of unique cocktails and craft beers. The one bartender was mixing up a new drink as practice and brought me over a sample, not only was that vey generous but also tasty. I sat at the bar to eat, it was dead, just me and one other patron at the bar, two tables in the whole place were occupied. I'm told that summer is the slow time for the town. I ordered the salmon which came with quinoa and snap peas. Only catch is, it doesn't actually come with the vegetable, I paid $3 extra for them much to my surprise. The food was excellent, salmon cooked nicely and the quinoa had a very nice Spanish flavor to it. I enjoyed it all but I felt it was a bit pricey with adding the vegetable. My bill was $30 just for the meal, in a town that appears to be mostly in poverty it's seems a bit pricey to me. But delicious nonetheless. read more

What a day, we celebrated my daughter getting her White Coat for Pharmacy. We Yelped the area and found The Met. Parking was easy and the place looks great. You need to look when you walk into the Met as everyone working is smiling. They are truly smiling and very engaging. We had the buffalo and spinach and artichoke dip and it was spot on. I got this beautiful thing and yes that is peanut butter. It was better that I expected and I would travel for this burger. All other meals we ordered came out fast and exactly how we ordered it. Our first visit and it was fabulous. Started out rough but they more than made a good come back. The atmosphere is a great balance for a casual or elegant experience. Very clean and uniquely decorated. We were sat quickly at a table for two; brought menus and water. And then we sat. And waited. And sat. And waited. After 20 minutes without someone even coming to take a drink order, I was ready to go. My husband saw two seats at the bar (beautiful bar) so we gave it a shot there. The bartenders were fabulous and personable and got our drinks, appetizer, and meals quickly. All our food was excellent. High quality, hot, and not the same old same old flavors. In the end, a bartender had spoke to a manger about our wait and they comp-ed our appetizer and sent us home with a complimentary dessert. We will definitely go back. There's so much more on the menu we need to try. read more

We stopped while traveling through. This is more geared towards adults with no children, road weary and etc. It's a ways from the expressway too .The burger and tacos were good. We ordered a stuffed of Mac and cheese for one of the kids and it was pretty tiny. The PO boy was ok. The raspberry taramisu was very good. But it's not really taramisu. Nice place for small groups of double dates. Looks like a large wine selection and bar 3 entrees with two sides and a dessert was $67.00 Masks to walk in I guess. Service was commendable. read more
