And they always have specials. We have eaten a few of the times we are there and been happy with the food. They do flights too... and you can mix up the options and have wine and spiked hot chocolate on a flight. Have I mentioned the live music? Most weekends they have one or 2 musicians playing. The wine bar is only 15 minutes from Oak Harbor OH about 20 from Oregon, OH in a beautiful quiet country area. It was a charming Italian spot with a cozy dining room and a welcoming patio. The menu looked great, so even though it was already late and only about a half hour before closing, I chose to dine there. I was a little worried I might feel rushed because of the time, but that did not happen. I was greeted warmly by the hostess and the manager as soon as I walked in, which immediately made me feel welcome. Since it was a bit cool outside, I chose to sit in the dining room. I was seated in Sydney's section, which turned out to be perfect because she was an excellent server. Even though she had already started the closing tasks in the dining room, she still provided outstanding service. She was attentive, polite, professional and efficient. She took my order right away and kept the soda refills coming without me ever having to ask. Sydney's service really made the difference and it complemented my delicious meal. In an era where many restaurants feel inattentive or simply not invested in the guest experience, Basil Pizza and Wine delivered a memorable evening. I ordered the Caesar salad and added chicken. The Caesar dressing is chefs kiss. I absolutely loved it and wish I could've taken a bottle of it home with me. The chicken was cooked well, but definitely needs more seasoning. It took a bit to get our checks, but overall it was a great experience.

The Met is a unique building downtown Lima. It was built in the late 1880's and was originally home to the The Metropolitan Bank. It has since been morphed into a restaurant with very attractive original features. The wood floors and plaster ceilings...along with the attractive decor really enhance the dinning experience! The team here is very friendly, professional and welcoming. Ashley was outstanding. She hustled, knew her menu and had great recommendations. Ashley was very attentive and helped us enjoy the evening. I appreciated Liz stopping by and welcoming us. Liz shared lots of history and helped us appreciate the facility. The Met has a large food menu that has something for everyone. They have a large selection of beverages and specialty cocktails. All at reasonable prices. We started with a couple of Mule drinks. One was a designer St. Patrick's Day Mule and their specialty Met Mule. Both were very tasty, cool and refreshing . We started with the Focaccia bread appetizer. It had a lightly golden/chewing top with a soft and moist inside. Liz said that they make the bread fresh three times a day. The bread had a slight olive oil taste with a mild amount of Italian herbs. The soft whipped butter was a nice add. The side salad had lots of fresh spring greens. There was a few tasty tomatoes and lots of stronger tasting onions. The thin Parmesan cheese shreds were an excellent touch. The house ranch dressing was very smooth/light/creamy moderately thin with a mild ranch taste. My wife had the chicken bacon ranch flatbread. The crust was thin and crispy. She really liked the ranch house made sauce and how it accented the meat toppings. I had the Met Meatloaf which had an outstanding meat flavor. The meat was made with Italian sausage which had a slightly spicy kick. It was moist and tender to go along the beefy taste. The smooth red sauce on top was slightly sweet & spicy. It accented the meat nicely. The mashed potatoes were real with lumps, eyes and minute peel pieces. Very smooth and delicious! The grilled asparagus had a slight crisp to go along with the tender stalk. Not much seasoning detected...just a nice olive oil taste. Overall a fantastic dinner experience. We sat street level and watched the pedestrians come & go while enjoying the decor of this unique facility! The menu is large and the food and drinks are outstanding. A special trip to The Met in downtown Lima is worth a try!

Metered parking on the street and there was a free lot but it was full. Meters were $2 for two hours. Nice staff and there were no staff shortages! Lilly our server was perfect. My favorite part of the fried cauliflower is they offer to toss them in all the different sauces. We ordered them "bare" with the garlic sauce on the side with their homemade ranch and wowza! They were PHENOMENAL! We ordered the Greek Chicken to split and we were wanting more. The flavors were absolutely delicious and so fresh. It's an amazing spot!
