Everyone in my party of 5 enjoyed the food. The menu offers innovative takes on the most common of choices--the grilled cheese being one example. I went for that most boring of choices, the house salad. Not boring here! Granny smith apples, walnuts, and feta cheese. Drinks, food and service was great. Experience ruined by application of gratuity. I'm on board with the tipping system as I've made a living with it years ago. I can even accept the automatic charge for large parties. Although at that point it's a service charge NOT a tip. What crosses a line for me is when I have a 20% charge added from the tax. Why do I have to increase the server's wage because of the government's fee? on top of that, the 20% charge was applied to the service fee for using a card instead of cash. Any automatic gratuity/service charge should be limited to the cost of the food and drinks! It will never be my idea to go back here. read more

Only went for a drink, but waited at the bar for 15 minutes before they even acknowledge that we were there. I think that if I had not gotten up to request to pay for my bill, I would still be sitting there. Didn't have food so I can't comment on that. Bistro on Main is a really great restaurant. Its interior décor is very dark but totally charming and comfortable. Their menu is most interesting. Beloved and I share a plate of their Kobe Meatballs, which were exceptionally good. I then went on and had a small Caesar but for my entrée, a Chilian Sea Bass which was most uniquely prepared with a totally delicious jalapeno bourbon cream sauce topping all set upon a cauliflower puree. Even at $40, well worth it. I also had a couple of their cocktails which were of a decent pour and nicely mixed. The bartender was friendly and the service overall very good. Uh, yum! I never would have known to stop in here, but thankfully I was with a coworker last night who knew where to go. The menu was full of delightful options, and the starter salad selection is fantastic. I was able to sub raw red onions on my Fuji for pickled ones, which today me appreciates tremendously (raw onions hurt my tummy, ya know?). Service was great. The server touched the table at just the right times, timed the salad and main courses perfectly, and asked but didn't pester about drinks and dessert. Water was refilled timely, never running dry but not too often. Best of all, it was a Monday night and they were open! Love it! Come here, you won't be disappointed! read more

A nice treat. We stopped through on our way to Columbus and were looking for a nice date-night meal. It wasn't our first choice due to lack of an online menu to get us to stop in, but we were happy to find it. Similarly, the lack of an online menu along with my poor memory means I can't give a good dish by dish review. For an appetizer, we had a calamari al diavolo. Very tasty. We had the steak. It was perfectly prepared. The sauce was a perfect accompaniment. The cocktail menu had several good options. Dear Yelpers, Findlay isn't know for much, but what it lacks in things to do, it makes up for in places to eat and Bistro is on that list. Upscale vibes for a reasonable price, the food here will definitely keep you coming back. Been there multiple times and don't think I've had a bad meal yet. Most recently got to try the Kobe Meatballs and it was delicious. Meatballs were cooked perfectly and basically fell apart. The noodles were a bit over seasoned due to the way they were soaking in the grease in the bowl, but still tasty! The meatballs were great but had a strong raw garlic flavor. The service was very slow for lunch at non-peak hours. However, the interior is nice so that's a plus, but I was expecting meatballs to take less than an hour to get to the table when the restaurant is not super busy. read more

This was a meeting place for us who all drove two hours to get here. The restaurant is tiny but adorable. We had reservations and were seated right away. It took almost 20 minutes to get our cocktails after we ordered them. They were quite tasty. We ordered the whipped feta and Brussels sprouts for apps - both were very good. Our entrees included the lobster risotto, crispy duck and the meatball. All of the food was fabulous. I'm only leaving four stars because our service was less than stellar. Messed up drink orders, food orders, to go containers, checks. Our server, while very nice messed up pretty much whatever she could. She even spilled tomato soup on one of our party and didn't offer anything to compensate. We had to ask for club soda. Therefore, 4 stars. read more

First ( and last) visit. Apparently it takes an hour to make a salad. Went there for lunch. Walked in at 11:30, first people there. Greeted and given a table. While looking at menu another two tables were seated. Gave our order of two salads, then waited. And waited. And waited. Watched five table get their food while we didn't. Asked server who said she's ( the cook ) working on it. After 45 minutes still no food. Walked out and told server too long. His reply ... "ok". Guess he didn't care. Good news, bad news. First the bad news, if you can call it that. The menu on Yelp isn't accurate. Call the restaurant. They do seasonal dishes and yelp isn't up to date. Second, the portions are large, we actually had to cancel our dinner. Good news... the portions are large! We started and finished with a Ceasars salad, meatballs, and ham potato soup. Didn't get a pic of the soup, I literally downed it. The meatball appetizer is beautifully served with a nice side of mozzarella and toasted bread. This is my only complaint, the bread was a little over toasted. The meatballs have a lot of peppery spice and beautiful fresh basil and sauce. The Ceasars salad was cold, crisp, fresh, and delightful. So, back to the cancelation of dinner. We got thru the soup and started on the meatballs when we realized we weren't going to be able to eat much more. This is not typical for is not fortunately they don't rush the meals so we were able to cancel on time. Highly recommend this little highlight on Main in Findlay. read more

Two of us dined here on a Weds night around 8pm. We split the walnut/gorgonzola/apple salad with lemon poppyseed dressing. Delicious. Bread (free) was really good and was served with salted honey butter. Also delicious. Husband had a burnt sugar old fashioned which contained orange bitters, a Luxardo cherry and a dehydrated blood orange slice. He said it was one of the best old fashioneds he ever had. Our server, Alex, actually made the drink. I have a garlic allergy, which sometimes frustrates a server or chef. They accommodated me without making me feel like a hypochondriac or diva. She was amazing! Husband loved his sausage/peppers/chicken penne. My shrimp risotto had to be modified due to my allergy and it turned out to be delicious also. Very cool place. Main floor probably seats about 50 (guessing). Pretty wide open. Would be nice for a party. We didn't go upstairs, which has been used for a banquet room. I'd be here once per week if I lived nearby. Food- the food was decent but the pasta sizes were huge and a bit soupy. The salads were super fresh and the fried burrata was good. Service- our server was nice but it took awhile to get anyone to look at us when we sat down. All courses took awhile to come out which made the experience less enjoyable. This has to be the best restaurant and service in Findlay. I ate at the bar and the bartender Lisa was amazing, even though it was a busy night. She made us fantastic specially cocktails and was on top of everything all night. We had the burrata appetizer- amazing. I could eat it over and over again. I also had the Alforno, which is a huge dish, but delicious. (I can't wait to get to the leftovers!) My dining companion has the fried chicken and enjoyed it as well. Surprise "processing fee" not disclosed up front added to the bill. At least if they had been honest and given advance notice I could have chosen to go elsewhere. Had high hopes for this place but was a bit disappointed. First of all beware of menus online for this place because many are wrong and out of date. So when we first called a lot of items we were interested in they didn't have. I got the alforno for my entree. I was hoping for something a bit more light but the ravioli were huge and stuffed with spinach and cheese drowning in a cream sauce with pre cut grilled chicken and cheese. The chicken seemed frozen and it was weird that it was pre cut. There was no flavor at all and the cream sauce was super heavy. I ate the ravioli but couldn't stomach the chicken or the sauce. The tomato soup that was highly recommended came with grated cheese on top but to me was not good and tasted like tomato paste. However, the dessert, salad, bread, and the entree my partner got, wild mushroom buccatini, were good. I don't know. Menu seems a bit hit or miss based off our experience. Friendly staff though. Very sad. It used to be our "go-to" place in Findlay. We had our first date there in 2009. Went back tonight for the first time in 3 years, grand disappointment. Bistro Salad (a former favorite) was large with greens and low on the apples and cheese. Cheap. The pasta dishes were too large and tasteless. In short they traded volume for quality. Also the server didn't know how to serve an $80 bottle of wine, gave each of the four of us the taste pour and left, I had to ask for a regular pour in each glass. Very disappointing. read more

I think i've had one of the best meals here while visiting Findlay. The penne dish with spicy sausage & pepperoncinis really impressed me. I had the warm bacon starter salad as well, and recommend it. The atmosphere is cozy, music is not loud, and the service is on their toes. I finished with their praline tart. Not bad! First time I came, I made a dinner reservation for Saturday night. My party was seated immediately. I ordered house salad and scallop chef special. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and answered all our questions. Everyone enjoyed their meal at our table. Second time I went, I came for lunch during the week. I ordered the chef special again (because clearly this chef has mad talent and great taste)-- I was not disappointed! The arugula salad and salmon was A-MAZ-ING!! The salmon was pan-seared perfectly, well seasoned, and the skin was crisply. The salad had a great vinaigrette dressing, blue cheese, tomatoes, and candied nuts! This salad is what dreams are made of!! And most importantly (in my opinion for good salad), the arugula was washed and throughly worked through so there was no slimy bad green lettuce. This may be the best restaurant in the Findlay area AND THAT'S NO JOKE. They've absolutely nailed it! The ambiance is dark, just like a bistro tucked in a French corridor. The smell will hit you as soon as you walk through the door. It's a dank, meaty, freshly-spiced smell that only comes from a kitchen that is using the heat correctly. They do everything perfectly. The meat, the seafood, the cocktails, the desserts- they are all spot-on. I suggest getting an appetizer from their ever-evolving menu. The grilled mozz bits were scrumptious, and the charcuterie tray spans a ton of different flavors. Next, order one of their extremely tasty meat selections; they're always cooked perfectly. The lobster risotto is a stand out! Pair your food with their hand crafted cocktails, and watch their experienced bartenders work their magic. Sit near the mid-rear of the shotgun-style restaurant if at all possible. It gets busy around the front and back. Again, these guys do everything right. This place looks really trendy and hipster. Dark ambient lighting. Good service. They give you complimentary bread and sweet whipped butter which tasted amazing. I have eaten here twice and both times the food was not edible. I ordered the lamb meatball pasta and the meatballs were so over cooked that they couldn't be cut with a knife. The same goes for my next visit. I ordered the cod special and it was black it was so burnt. I can't believe the waitress actually served it as it was very noticeable. The corn fritters were rock hard as well. Will only go back for drinks as the food is way overpriced for something I can't eat. read more

This is a very comfortable restaurant that just makes you feel warm when you walk in. They have a nice wine list & great food options across the board. We had a dry aged ribeye special that was very good, but such a massive steak I could not finish. Rarely happens - This was my first time to Findlay & I would recommend this restaurant.
