I like this place a lot! Unique menu. I wouldn't say this is basic "bar food". Apps are great, the portions are definitely for the table. I've been here a few times...I wasn't blown away by the burger but I would certainly order it again. The other entrees I've had (including the Nashville chicken sandwich) are pretty too notch. Sweet potato fries tend to be soft anywhere you go but this place found a way to crisp them without brining them. Great craft draft selection. Came here with a group of friends after a long day on the golf course. Beers were flowing and food came shortly after. Our waitress was patient with our large group and was attentive and pleasant along the way. Table shared a heaping platter of grilled chicken nachos followed by everyone's main course. I ordered their BBQ bacon burger which was literally overflowing with strips of thick cut bacon and onion straws served with a mountain of fresh cut fries. All the food was spot-on and the table all seemed to enjoy their meal choices. Great meeting spot (in the bar area) for a larger group with a lively and fun atmosphere. We've come here a few times for cocktails, and I appreciate how fast the service is, even when they're busy. Atmosphere on the first floor (Taproom) is chill, and offers a nice place for sitting and chatting; upstairs features occasional live music and dancing, and seems to be where the younger crowd goes. My friends band was playing on 3/19. This venue is a pretty nice size. The bartenders were super quick and friendly. I got the chicken bacon ranch flat bread which was phenomenal. I was told they make the flat bread in house and you can definitely tell. I definitely want to come back at some point and try the Buffalo chicken dip. read more

My husband and I frequent Ali's (not regularly but about once a month). We held our engagement party with them (they were hard to keep in touch with for this event). I was in charge of my class reunion and held the reunion event in the room upstairs. We go to events such as the Blues Fest. We enjoy the establishment. Last night we decided to go. Usually we enjoy the first floor. Last night we went to the second floor. It was around 11pm. As I was reminding my husband to find a table, we were approached by Rob. We do not know Rob on a personal level however we did meet with him when consulting for a wedding reception..so we are familiar with Who he is and his role. We have been to the establishment and others during the pandemic. We know to wear our masks and sit down. I was a DD last evening so I was aware of what was happening. My husband and I entered the second floor. Some gentleman explained the Covid restrictions. After showing our IDs we entered as a band played. Most tables were full. As I looked around for a table to sit at, my husband was dancing a bit (maybe two minutes) because all of the tables were full. I was ushering him to a seat and reminding him of the restrictions of not dancing and sitting. Rob approached us and told us we needed to "f***ing sit down". My husband asked if he could find us a table. Rob said he would. I immediately saw a group leave a table and I asked if I could sit there. They party leaving agreed. I told Rob we would sit down and apologized. I guess I am upset at the approach of Rob. There was NO need for cursing at us. A simple reminder to sit down would have sufficed. We were looking for a table for less than two minutes. A person in his position should enforce restrictions and rules. I am 150% on board with that. I want to be safe. I want the establishment to stay open. But the approach of cursing at us was inappropriate and uncalled for. I would understand if this was an ongoing issue for our party throughout the night, but as I said it was a less than two minute occurrence. In the future I hope that Rob and the rest of the staff approach individuals in this situation respectfully. I would expect to be treated in this way as a paying patron. Unfortunately we will not be back for a few months. This interaction left an negative impact of customer service of this establishment. We hope to visit again and be treated in a more respectful manner in the distant future. I hope to increase my rating. read more

My friend and I stopped here on Sunday after a craft fair at the fairgrounds down the road. When in Findlay, there's not much to do, or many places to eat so we went here. My friend has been with her family numerous times and told me how cute it was. We walked in and opened the lower-level door to find the tvs on, not a soul to be seen, and out-door signs pulled in. I assumed they were closed so we headed up stairs. Upstairs is a small bowling alley and a bar with a variety of seats. Not nearly as cute as the lower level with the garage doors that open to the street. The waitress walked by and I had to verbally accost her to ask if the lower level was closed and if they were open for business. She, of course, looked at me and my friend like we had horns growing out of our heads and answered the upstairs was open. We sat down and she slowly made her way to serve us. Bloody-Mary's were watery and uninspired. For being a "micro brew" they didn't have any on tap. The menu was typical bar food. I ordered a burger on the recommendation of my friend who said they were good. What arrived was a greasy meat pie on a bun with some greasy fries with rosemary on top. I wasn't impressed, to say the least. Service was sub-par and along with the other reviews, I felt the uniforms were dumb. The names of the burgers have changed (per my friend) and not nearly as clever-sounding as the old ones. Food was an attempt at something greater than it was and I left feeling like I should have skipped the entire meal. If you're in town and stuck with no other solutions, I might suggest going hungry, but if not, attempt this place at your own risk. read more

While stuck in Findlay, OH for a few days on business, my expectations were not too high with regards to dining choices. My hotel is surrounded by standard chains such as Texas Roadhouse and Outback. I regret not finding this place earlier during my visit. Beer list and food were both outstanding. And I don't just mean for Findlay, OH. I'm from Columbus, and am an absolute beer snob, so I didn't expect to find much in Findlay. Most places around here consider Yuengling to be their "craft beer". The beer list at Alexandria's was as good as any bar I frequent in Columbus. While there, I had a Stone Grapefruit Slam IPA, New Belgium Yuzu (hard to find), and a Rivertown Vanilla Porter for dessert. Their beer menu consisted of 40+ beers on tap, ranging from Stone to New Belgium, Oskar Blues, Dogfish Head, Heavy Seas, Green Flash, and more. Truly a diverse list of drafts. I would have been happy with the beer alone, but I was hungry as well. The food menu is minimal, and that's not a bad thing. One sheet alone, with a handful of appetizers, sandwiches, and flatbread pizzas. I opted for the double cheeseburger, which did not disappoint. As much of a beer snob as I am, I'm every bit a burger snob. This burger ranked well above what I typically find during my travels around the country. Cheesy and full of flavor. The fries were exceptional as well, and I loved their presentation in a glass with spicy ketchup in the bottom. One last thing worth noting is the place itself. It's small. Like, really small. I'm guessing it seats maybe 40 people in the main area, although the bartender did tell me they have a larger space in the back for overflow. None of this is a bad thing. It's cozy. It has brick walls, copper tile ceilings, a chandelier, and glass garage doors that open in warmer months. Apart from tables and a bar, there are also large, overstuffed leather chairs for lounging in. A few TVs for sports as well. Bottom line, if I lived closer, this would be my go-to hangout. Exceptional beer selection, and above average gastropub-inspired food menu. Will not hesitate coming back here if ever in the area again. read more

My friends and I stopped here while visiting from out of town and we ended up having a really good time. I didn't really check out the downstairs bar or the cigar room, but I do know that they exist. The upstairs was the more intriguing area to our group, as it used to be an old bowling alley. While the lanes are closed, the pinsetters are still in place to add some aesthetic value to the atmosphere. There is a large bar, to the left of which is a lounge area with pool and shuffleboard tables to entertain. To the right was another lounge area where on this particular night an art show was being held along with some live music performances. All in all, I was pretty impressed with the variety of entertainment available, even if bowling wasn't one of them. As for the drink selection, it wasn't too bad either. Not a wide variety of craft beers, but enough to satisfy any casual drinker for an hour or two. It was also reasonably priced at about $3-$4 for a pint. It was an enjoyable experience without a doubt and I would certainly not be opposed to visiting again on my next trip to Findlay. read more

I went there for a wedding very recently and the atmosphere was great, the building deisgn itself was cool, and the bartenders weren't rude or anything. We had the wedding downstairs and then everyone went upstairs during cocktail hour. So upstairs at the bar we actually had to pay for our drinks. No big deal, that's what the bride and groom wanted. My fiance ordered some Jim Beam, straight, and when we got it I had to laugh. I worked in a bar. I know the standard is 1 1/2 oz. Even the bar my brother manages does 1 1/4 oz which is fine but this place maybe gave him an ounce, IF THAT. On top of which they charged the crazy amount of $6.67. A 1 1/4-1/2 oz should be no more than $6. I myself got a rum and coke that was also underpoured. You couldn't taste anything (I had Bacardi) and it seemed like they put a TON of ice in it to hide the fact you're not getting as much as you're supposed to. I know it's a small complaint to some but I hate being over charged for an underpoured beverage. You pay for that liquor so give me what I am due. This is definitely a place I will not be back to. At least for drinks. Also the bathrooms are completely disgusting so watch out for that. read more

The young crowd typically heads upstairs - Dj typically spins some tunes on the weekend. Tiki bar on the top deck is nice in the summer if it is not too hot. My favorite is the old school downstairs. Victoria makes a mean Amelia cocktail. My Marathon peeps and I typically head here every month for some good on tap brews and commiserate. My name is Alexandria so I figured why not try this place! My boyfriend and I visited this wonderful place on a Saturday night around 6pm! It was so nice just to walk in and pick a table. We were asked about drinks in the first couple of minutes. They have so many beers on tap, so it will take you a few minutes to figure out what to try. There were many different waitresses, and all of the checked on us. Our food was amazing! Originally I wanted to try the Mac n cheese, since I saw it on Yelp, however, they updated their menu and no longer have it. I ordered the pulled pork and by boyfriend ordered the Crawford. Both were generous portions with a huge pile of fries. I tacked half of my sandwich and 1/4 of my fries and was full. My boyfriend loved his burger and said this was one of the best places he has been to for some good food and spirits. For the venue itself, it is located downtown and the decor is to die for! The upstairs can be rented out and they also have a ball room for events! Couldn't think of a better place in Findlay! I'm not special. Let me start off by saying that. I merely like to go to special bars and restaurants and enjoy them from my unspecial point of view. But trust me when I say that what might be the best bar in northwest Ohio would be a legitimately great bar anywhere. Alexandria's beer menu was crafted by someone who knew what they were doing. A large, yet concise sampling of different styles and brewers that could double as a greatest hits album of what hops and barley have to offer. Sadly, though, the menu is fraught with 86'd ghost beers; beers you've carefully selected, are eager to try, and are disappointingly sold out when you order. In my two visits, this probably happened 6 times. There's a stark difference between the somehow homey and industrial feel of the front room and the rear. The front has a never-want-to-leave, spread-my-ashes-here-when-I-die feel to it. You wonder why all bars can't be like this. The back room holds live music and has the intimacy of a wedding hall. All the wonderfully exposed original brick and chandeliers can't shrink the too wide open feel of the room and banquet style round tables. Thankfully, the service is beyond great no matter where you sit. If you're even remotely around Findlay and want a drink, there's no better place to go. read more

Findlay, OH... that's a town I honestly had no idea existed until this past weekend. My brother was in Cleveland, OH to teach a class and I am in Cincinnati for the summer. Trying to find a town in between was tricky... but with the help of Google Maps and Yelp we landed in Findlay, OH to eat at Alexandria's. The restaurant is very neat inside, supposedly part of it used to be a horse stable a while back, so there was that rustic vibe to it that I just love. I order the mac n' cheese with mascarpone, two-year aged cheddar, parmesan and potato chips (make note that the potato chips are on top of the mac... LOL I thought they were on the side). I added smoked chicken and jalapeños for some extra "kick". My oh my, this was hands down the BEST mac n' cheese I have ever had the pleasure of eating. With every enticing bite the smokiness of the chicken shined through blending ever so perfectly with the creamy cheesy deliciousness, then the crunch of the potato chips was just the cherry on top... 10x better than adding breadcrumbs for that crunch. To add to it, Alexandria's was playing some of my favorite music AND there was a car show going on right outside their doors. Great little day get away from Southern Ohio. Bar food made by a kitchen that cares about food! This is a great place to hang out and the beers are great. You will need a lot of visits to drink your way through the beer menu! The mixed drinks are good too... I will need to revisit in order to get to the wine list. The food here is simple but well made. There is some spanish influence (Mexican actually) but this is not "Spanish food" or "Mexican food." If you need something modified to your taste, the kitchen will accommodate you. Prices are reasonable. If you are in the area, you need to visit this place. Bring a fun attitude. They get live music in on some evenings, the atmosphere is casual and fun, and you can go bowling upstairs. (Yes, you read that correctly - you go Upstairs to go bowling! And the bowling alley is a hoot. Take your friends and your drinks and go bowl a few frames! This is a nice place. Don't expect fancy, but plan on having fun. Wow. I would be a regular if I didn't live in Cincinnati. We stopped for a bite to eat on our way home from the north country and could have stayed all night. Lots of craft beers on tap. We picked the place because of the supposed beer selection and were not disappointed. Varied food selection. (I got the Elvis PB and banana sandwich. good but perhaps overdone with bacon) There wasn't much staff, it was a slow night, but they were attentive and friendly. Even after they got a bit of a rush they handled it and willingly changed TV channels for us as we sat in some comfy chairs. This is a pretty neat and laid back place. Seems strange that there aren't a lot of good recent reviews. Not the best place in town and people who work there seem pretty miserable and aren't friendly. Place is trying to do too much with little attention to detail. Won't ever cross the threshold of this venue again. Really wanted to like this place. $5 for 15 minutes of pool, no chalk on the tables. I am sure the price isn't bad. Our server was very nice and alerted us when we got there that he may be too busy to check on us, but he really did a nice job. However, the food was not exceptional. Pulled pork was okay, but the coleslaw was so thick with purple cabbage and almost no sauce. My daughter's chicken chunks were very salty, and the breading wasn't even done. My fish tacos were lacking in taste. I am sure this is a good place to drink, but just not a great place to eat. Also would love to see more decor on the walls upstairs, lights that actually work and a soap dispenser that isn't a big industrial refill size of Softsoap.
