I am a college student at UF and have been to Brew for some fun a handful of times. Generally it's a little crowded and feels weird sometimes with a mix of college students and forty year olds but not a big thing in my opinion. The bar tenders have been great up until I witnessed something very disturbing Saturday night. One of the bartenders, a man with black hair and thin trimmed beard, decided to harass me and my friends. There were two male bar tenders working that night so I want to be clear on which one I'm referring to. The good one was wearing a backwards red hat and is a bit taller. The one I'm about to refer to is shorter, skinnier and has black hair. He approached me and my friends and told my friend he needed to leave and that he was underage. My friend is not underage and has been 21 for about 5 months now. We showed him his ID but this guy persisted and told him to get out. We said he's not leaving so he threatened us. Said he would beat the sh*t out of my friend and then referred to my female friends as c*nts and b*tches when we tried to vouche for my friend. He attempted to go get the bouncer who listened to what he had to say and then just shrugged his shoulders because clearly this man had no evidence or reasoning. He then threatened us again and called one of my female friends an ugly pig and know one would want to buy her any drinks. He also stated he was going to make sure we got thrown out and were never allowed to come back because one of his relatives owned Brew. I saw him working behind the bar so I know for a fact he was a bartender. Shortly after this occurred we all left because it was deeply unsettling. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable and I will never be returning to your establishment nor will my friends. To anyone reading this, again, it's a good place and I think if you got rid of this person immediately it would be a very fine bar. All the other bartenders are great. Drinks are great. Music is usually not terrible. But something like this however is all it's going to take for a lawsuit or worse to get slapped on your bar. Really hope I never have this kind of situation in any bar ever again. read more
