When I want to celebrate a special occasion or impress an out-of-town friend, I go to Mancy's Steakhouse. It's absolutely beautiful, the service is impeccable, and the food is delicious. On one sad occasion, I gathered with friends to mourn a friend who had recently passed. We sat for hours, we laughed, we cried - I'm sure it was awkward for our server, but we received the best service. They let us sit there for hours and they even provided a few complimentary desserts to end our night on a sweet note. read more

We have given this institution several tries, and never once have our orders been correct, complete, or what one would expect for a $100 /plate evening. I don't blame the line or wait staff, this is absolutely a management issue. The staff, although polite, is in no way trained for a "fine dining" experience. Located in the luxurious Hancock Hotel, Mancy's is the epitome of class, style and fine dining. They have over 100 wines, a good quantity of craft beers and, of course, wonderful cocktails of which, since I was staying in the hotel, had several. It's also one of the only bars I've seen offering meads and ciders. For my meal, I started off with anchovies on their Caesar. It was really a good salad and the croutons I usually overlook were specially handcrafted and delicious. \ I also had their petite filet mignon, which had a wonderful meat flavor. It really tasted great and I am certain was dry-aged in order to get its great flavor. I also had it topped with a totally delicious bone marrow butter crust. (Yes, I could've sent it back...but we'd been there for a long time and it wasn't worth it to me). Salt on a filet?? Side of mushrooms were soggy and cold. Crème Brûlée was bland with little flavor. Unfortunately I wasn't the only person in our party 10 to have the same experience. With alcohol our tab was easily between $700-750. Fortunately my company was picking up the tab. read more

I can't begin to say enough good things about Mancys at the Hancock hotel. The food is absolutely fantastic and so is the staff. We went to Mancys for our dinner on NYE. We went all out for this meal for our family of four. Appetizers: 1. Crab Stuffed Mushrooms | so good 2. Jumbo shrimp cocktail | Our least favorite dish of the meal. I'm beginning to think that I'm just not a huge fan of Jumbo shrimp in general though. 3. Scallop with garlic grits | These garlic grits were sooooo good! There was only one scallop that came with this appetizer but it was delicious. Soup: 1. French Onion Soup | my husband says this is one of his favorite French onion soups out of all restaurants 2. Soup of the day (3) | this was a bean soup. My stepsons both devoured theirs. It was pretty spice forward in my opinion. (I believe it was something like nutmeg) Drinks: 1. They brought my husband and I out a complementary small glass of champagne since it was New Year's Eve 2. I had two old fashioned drinks with rabbit hole bourbon 3. My husband and stepsons all had pop. Our waitress was so attentive and made sure to refill often 4. My husband had a coffee with dessert Entrees: 1. My husband had the 10oz Barrel cut filet with bearnaise sauce 2. My stepson had the 10oz barrel cut filet with rice pilaf 3. I had the 10oz barrel cut filet with the mushroom and bordelaise sauce and mashed potatoes with gravy 4. My other stepson had the 12oz NY Strip Steak with a bone marrow crust and homemade steak sauce with mashed potatoes All of the steaks were cooked perfectly and were so good! So good that almost forgot to get a photo! Desserts: 1. Pecan Ice Cream Pie with chocolate and caramel drizzle 2. cheesecake with a raspberry drizzle (I could bath in that drizzle! Lol) 3. Chocolate cake with raspberry drizzle with "you are an inspiration" written in chocolate on the plate My youngest stepson has a very long road ahead in 2022 with several serious medical conditions that he has going on. We wanted to make sure that NYE was special for him as his life and our lives are about to change a lot in 2022. We chose Mancys because my husband and I got married at the Hancock hotel and had our reception dinner there. We made the right choice. The staff was so pleasant from start to finish and went out of their way to make the boys feel special. Thank you, Mancys! Great steak!!! In town alone, sat at the bar, service was great and the food was presented well and tasted delicious.

I had breakfast at Mancy's on Saturday morning. This was the worst experience that I have ever had at Mancy's. I ordered the Cheese omelette. The waiter said that it came with bacon. There was no bacon in the omelette. The order was supposed to come with toast but the waiter did not bring toast either with the breakfast. We had to wait over 10 minutes to be seated. The waiter was no where to be found. My wife asked him to bring a spoon for her coffee but he never did return with the spoon. Clearly he did not care about the service. He never stopped by to check on the water or coffee. He was just interested in taking orders. The kitchen was even worst. We were the second group in that morning and it took them over 30 minutes to cook three omelette. There was a group behind us who waited 45 minutes for their food. There was two cooks in the kitchen. Liked I said, they did not even know what was supposed to along with the omelette besides the three ingredients that we told them. (The menu said that either bacon or sausage would be on the side along with the potatoes. There was to be toast along with it. The waiter did not even ask the customers what type of bread that they wanted and for the individual who specified what they wanted, the kitchen did not even provided. As I walked out, I noticed that there was a group down the hall who looked like they had a catered breakfast. In the past, they had a breakfast bar which was fantastic but the ala carte really is terrible. I will not be going here in the future. I have been to a number of the Mancy's Steakhouses in Toledo and have had a great experience. Too bad a fantastic Hotel have such a disappointing breakfast offering. read more

Both were fantastic. The mushrooms are to die for and the shrimp are the biggest I've ever had. The cocktail sauce was delicious. For our entrees, my wife and I both had the Delmonico steak with a baked potato. The steak was expertly cooked and was so tender you could have almost cut it with the fork. We didn't opt for any but they have several crusts you can have the steaks rubbed with. To finish off we had a piece of chocolate cake. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed. read more

Very cool and nice steakhouse. Very well decorated and clean. The steaks were good, but not as good as the price tag. The mashed potatoes and gravy are from a can. Bad attitude. Being friendly is free. Must change out management asap, stayed at hotel 3 weeks. 3 times i went down bad service worse attitude had to send food back 2x out of 2 orders. Ordered rare steak so well done hard to cut, like a hockey puck. Wedge was ala 7-11. Seabass other order w truffle sauce, no truffle no sauce. Other employees at the Big M refuse to go here bc of attitude. Word spreads fast. For such a beautiful hotel, this is not a good pairing. read more

And now for the less than stellar portions: - food delivery for party of 6 was separated; - items missing for considerable time after meal delivery (e.g., mushrooms with steak); and - steak warm but not hot - it and pilaf were luke warm (before mushrooms even arrived) - likely under warming lamp too long. Highlight was dessert and customer service to acknowledge and correct issues. They did good there recognizing the shortcomings. But for these prices I expect better overall performance. What a nice addition to Findlay! We held a surprise 40th Anniversary dinner here and reserved one of their rooms. The staff was on-point and attentive the entire night. We didn't order off the traditional menu but what we did get was top notch. I had the Sea Bass, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The mashed potatoes were creamy and filling (everything you want them to be). All in all we really enjoyed ourselves. I'll definitely be back. read more

We went for brunch after church today (Easter). Liked the atmosphere. Wait staff was attentive and courteous. Ordered Bloody Mary and Mimosa. BM came with a 10" stick with veggies and meat and cheese. Not too spicy. It was decent but found out later it was $12!!!! Definitely overpriced. At least put more vodka in it. Mimosa was only $3 but it wasn't special. Needed more champagne. We ordered the onion soup. It was quite good but sweetish. Very cheesy. We then ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict and the vegetarian stack. Both were good and hearty...when they arrived. We waited a good 30 minutes or more from time of order. They claimed there were big tables ahead of us but really!!?? The restaurant was not swamped. It was beyond aggravating and no one offered any comp or reduction of any kind. I simply expected better but we've heard they've been suffering staff turnover already. We definitely will go again since Mancys has such a good rep but they need to get better. We were a bit nervous bringing our young family (4 kids) to a nice, upscale restaurant but they did fantastic, which I partially attribute to the great service!! Food was well worth it also.
