I have loved Stix since the day they opened and I have ordered so many of their dishes, but never have I ever been obsessed with an entree like I am with the Red Curry with shrimp and noodles. I've ordered it the last three times I've eaten at Stix and I don't plan on changing it up anytime soon! Great ambiance upon entering. Very unassuming exterior but more upscale inside. The menu has great options but the server recommended the hot stone bibimbap with salmon. Absolutely amazing! I ordered a mandarin margarita which was perfect and not overwhelming in flavor. I did also order a spicy mango mojito which was more in line with a spiked green tea. Very mild in flavor. We are on day 2 of our trip from North Atlanta to Catawba Island and wanted a great lunch spot on our way, so Yelp led us to Stix. We were warmly greeted by La & she was very helpful with menu recommendations. I ordered the Shrimp Red Curry and as La explained, it is very spicy but I like spicy and it was over the top delicious! I would say it's the best red curry dish I've ever had! My husband had the Burrito Bowl with Chicken & an extra egg, he thought it was great; he did have some envy when he tried my dish, though! Very pretty presentations on the food. Please don't use the same garnishes on all of the dishes. Micro greens are great, but they don't need to be on everything. Had the ahi tuna tataki across a beautiful rice paper and floral presentation. However, the flavor of this dish was seriously lacking. Shocked that a tuna dish could be so boring. The fried chicken and the ribs were the best dish on the menu. The bimbap was the most tasteless I've ever eaten. I don't think this restaurant would have to do very much to try to improve the flavor of their dishes. I would start with better preparation methods of your proteins. I would not rely on pre-bottled sauces to create the flavor in all your dishes. And please please please change up the garnishes. Everything looks the same. read more

Don't see the elote corn I saw on pics for this place, must be a different menu for lunch than dinner. They accept all credit cards here, good to know. The overall taste of the dolsot was good though. I got over the broccoli, cabbage and kale and smothered them with the red gogujang sauce, makes anything tasty. They have good protein and side options for sure, that's rare at any Korean spot in Michigan by us, a plus about this place for sure. Working in downtown Findlay, as lunch approached, I perused the Yelp listings. Normally I love to explore a city's culinary offerings in search of hidden gems, but instead I found myself drawn to the siren's song of Stix Restaurant. Skimming the restaurants within walking distance, my eye caught on the entry for Stix and refused to budge. Unable to control my growing hunger, I bolted from my desk and nearly jogged the three blocks to the restaurant. Despite my 11:40am arrival, the place was completely packed -as is befitting one of the best restaurants in the city, if not the county- with nary a seat available anywhere. A smiling waiter approached and said it might be a little while. Undaunted, I said I would gladly wait; after all, I knew just how good the food was. After some minutes, I finally scored a table. Quickly reviewing the menu to make sure nothing major had changed, I ordered the hot stone bibimbop with shrimp and shitake mushrooms, plus a pot of tea. As before, the décor in the restaurant was dynamite, with modern light fixtures and artwork perfectly contrasted with the heavy brick of the building's industrial past. Likewise I absolutely loved the bar, with its juxtaposition of an ultramodern cut-glass backspash and stylish low-backed chairs against the gorgeous, rough-edged bar top which was cut from a single cross section piece of a massive tree. After a reasonable wait, my bibimbop arrived, and it looked fantastic and smelled even better! The gentle sizzling sound of the contents against the sides of the hot stone bowl was like music to my ears. While perhaps not as breathtakingly delicious as the pork belly I had last time, the shrimp was excellent. The shitake mushrooms and the egg were phenomenal, while the carrots, broccoli, and red cabbage were merely very good. The rice was also very good, except for where it had been seared crispy against the hot stone bowl, and then it was like nirvana in my mouth! To be completely honest, once I had finished I really just wanted to pick it up and lick the bowl clean, but I was afraid I would shame the other patrons who secretly wanted to do the same, but were too embarrassed. Service was good, especially considering how packed the restaurant was. While I was initially a little irked that the waiter brought me a half-pot of tea rather than asking if I wanted a whole or half, he never hesitated when I finished the first pot and asked for more. Additionally I really liked how the other waitress lent a hand and walked my check and credit card up, in case I was short for time. Finally I loved how she offered me a to-go cup so that I could enjoy the last of the delicious tea back at the office. Before tax and tip my bill came to $17, which makes for an expensive lunch, but it was definitely worth it. PROS: simply amazing food in a knockout atmosphere with skilled staff CONS: pricy (but well worth it); also as the tiniest of quibbles, I am a 6-ft-1 tall man who likes to sit on his leg during lunch, which is super hard to do in the restaurant's curved chairs (but like I said, I know I am nitpicking here) Overall I rate Stix Restaurant as being Excellent, and cannot wait to go back! read more

I was visiting one of my best friends, and I was blown away by this restaurant. It's a small establishment, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. We were lucky enough to get a bar seat very quickly. The employees of the restaurant were all very friendly and accommodating. I started off with a tuna appetizer, and it was delicious. The tuna tasted very nice and fresh, and the sesame crust along with the dab of sriracha blended well together. You could really appreciate the fish essence. I was a bit hesitant to get the bi bim bap, as I usually only trust this at traditional Korean restaurants. However, the waiter recommended this dish so I took a leap of faith. Boy was I happy! The vegetables were all very fresh, and the chicken had a nice marinade. I highly recommend trying the gochujang sauce if you enjoy spicy foods. That was one of my favorite parts of the whole dish. So much spiciness, slightly sweet, and super flavorful. My friend got the sake chicken, and it was cooked perfectly. Very juicy inside, with a perfectly crisped outside. The sauce that it's drizzled with is very good too. Overall I was very impressed with the entire dining experience. My only regret is not buying a to-go container of the gochujang sauce. Service was smiling and very helpful, allowing me a taste of the house white (not terribly good white blend from Portugal). But Findley is a Beer Town, so a sad wine list is somewhat expected. The beer selection is much better. LBC a wonderfully refreshing gin-Basel-grapefruit concoction cost me points on my Man-card, but I'll recover. The stout Moscow Mule that followed may have helped. I chose pork belly lettuce wraps: Ample serving of pork! Wished for more pickled onions, and other condiments (kimchi would have been nice). The last visit was amazing with the social distancing dining bubbles that they added outside. Very fun way to spend the evening with little blankets and Bluetooth speaker included in the bubble. This may be the best restaurant in the Findlay area. It almost seems like it's ahead of its time for an area like this. My friend and I also split the Creme brûlée sampler for dessert. (Creme brûlée is my favorite, and this didn't disappoint!) It came with a peppermint Creme brûlée (tasted like a fancy shamrock shake), a chocolate and sea salt Creme brûlée and a cheesecake Creme brûlée with crushed graham crackers on top. Stix is just the addition downtown Findlay has needed since Revolver left. My first experience there was dinner with my family. I was taking my mom out for her birthday and i know she loves trying different foods so we tried a few different appetizers to start off our meal. The decor i wasn't I too crazy about, although i did like seeing the road bikes in the front window and hanging in the back (something different). I tried some of hers and would definitely order it again. Now to my meal. Beef short rib cooked over caramelized onions and homemade kimchi on top. Came out on a sizzing cast iron plate, i was excited. This was my first short ribs dish of my life. It was .... ok with it. I think i was expecting something different to be honest. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but short ribs are too much work for me. The kimchi was AMAZING! If you go to Stix, there is only one thing i ask you to do. GET THE HOMEMADE ICE CREAM SAMPLER! Best ice cream you will ever eat, hands down. My favorite of the sampler was the orange/ carrot sherbet. Just as good as it is weird. Side note: I went back this week for lunch after i saw a burrito posted on their Facebook page. Of course that's what i ordered and i have the say, move over Chipotle. Chicken, Orzo rice (?) edamame, onions, cilantro, some type of sauce i think, with a kimchi salsa. Only complaint is i wish it was Chipotle size. But pound for pound the Stix burrito is much better.
