Not sure how this place can be rated 4 stars. We started going to this restaurant when it originally opened up with a good selection of, both, Korean and Japanese food. After a couple years, the original owner sold it and it may have changed hands a few times since then. My wife and I decided to try it tonight after not eating there for a couple years. The reason we haven't eaten there is the food isn't good and I honestly didn't think it could get worse. It did. It's much worse than I remembered. I ordered Korean Bulgogi, which is usually made from ribeye and then marinated in a Korean BBQ sauce consisting of soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, etc. Here at Asian grill, they just took sirloin, chopped it into stew meat sized bites, cooked it with onions and sprinkled sesame seeds on it. Why even call that Bulgogi? I've had better Korean food from Korean styled TV dinners. Everything we ordered was poorly prepared and they use the cheapest ingredients they can find. This place needs to just go out of business because they don't care what they're serving you.... We'll never eat there again. read more

Worst service EVER! Two times in a row. Tonight I ordered the spicy California roll.... it took the server over 5 minutes to bring me soy sauce after I asked for it. Then I ordered the Hot Stone Beef BimBimBob. She did not bring the miso soup I ordered and I had to ask for both that AND the soy sauce for the sushi again. The bowl was COLD and nothing cooked, not even the raw egg. Then I had to ask for a carryout box so I could COOK it at home. The server didn't even apologize. This is the second time I've had a similar experience with this same server. She brought me a carryout box then proceeded to give me a check for the ENTIRE AMOUNT. I paid the check and left a SMALL TIP. Never eating there again. This is the SECOND time I had the same server and I always have to keep asking her for everything. What happened? I'm so sad. I haven't been in a couple years and was so excited to go back. I asked for fried gyoza and instead of being pan fried, it was deep fried. Hard as a rock. Also had sashimi for one and it was not fresh, had things I had never seen before and some things just tasted awful. I cant believe I left things uneaten on a sashimi platter. In general, it felt unclean and the restroom was absolutely filthy and we can't blame that on covid. On a positive note, the wait staff was very pleasant. This place could have gotten 5 stars from me (hey, you're in Findlay, why would you expect to find good sushi?!!!) but the two extremely insecure goons working the joint really detract from the experience. I'll talk about the good first... The salmon sashimi was incredible! Who would have thunk!? The spicy tuna was slathered with masago sauce, which is good, chili oil would have been better, but I ate it up so whatevs! The miso soup was so-so but the ginger salad dressing was great! My friend took me to this place when I came the first time; Then, it was a five star. Their ginger salad was a delight to start off with as well as their tofu soup. The soup was a little salty but it was do-able. We had the spicy beef and it was the best thing I've ever tasted. I don't remember what the sushi we had was but whenever I came in the old adorable server we always had knew. It was deep fried with a nice sauce poured on too. I couldn't have enough! I came back 2 times in one day the 3rd time I was in Findlay. But to my disappointment, the last time I came they told me they changed the menu. They didn't have the spicy beef and only had sushi. Although I had my sushi, not as well as I had it before, without my spicy beef it just wasn't the same. I was in Findlay for a swim meet and for someone who has never been to Findlay, trying to find a place to eat without "Pizza" in the name is harder than it seems!! I found this place on yelp and it had good reviews so I thought I would give it a try. Boy am I glad I did!! This was an awesome hidden gem. The food was DELICIOUS and the sushi was fresh. I just did a take out order so I don't know about the service if you were eating in, but the guy who took my order and checked me out was very nice and wouldn't even let me tip him for being so helpful. He even directed me to the nearest place to get a phone charger. If I am ever back in Findlay, I will definitely eat here again. If you like sushi and Japanese food, this is the spot. read more

The fish seems to be mid-grade with a decent flavor, and their drink selection is limited with soda in cans. Taking into consideration that Findlay has a few mediocre sushi joints, realizing that this place is just average is something a true critic would do. What makes it stand out? The ambiance? Nah, it's dark with terrible disco tunes playing. The cleanliness? Nah, the place seems dirty and when we sat down last time, the table was sticky. Asian Grill has been the escape for myself and many of my friends who needed some authentic Asian food (they have Korean, Japanese and some Chinese, I believe). Findlay, Ohio is not known to have much of a variety, but THANK GOODNESS Asian Grill exists in Findlay, or else I would've been out of that city much earlier than my 3 year stay. Asian Grill is mostly family run. The owners and their employees know customer service! They have quality food and comparable lunch prices. Portions are generous and the sushi is DELICIOUS! This place has quite good sashimi and nagiri. Sets are varied and well crafted. Marinades and sauces are lovely. Opening salad is just lettuce but the sweet ginger dressing is delicious. Very cold Sapporo and very cold glasses. I'be been twice and will returnfor a third. read more

Fresh sushi - I recommend the DJ Roll, spicy salmon or yellowtail rolls, they have a spicy maki combo with 3 or 4 different spicy rolls for spicy lovers, ohio roll is great and many others to choose from. We have been coming to Asian Grill for a very long time and today had us wondering if we came to the wrong place. When we came in we were greeted and the waitress didn't even say hello. She picked up menus and started walking to a table. No "please follow me". Sat down, ordered drinks and about 15 min she came back and we ordered food. The phone rang the whole time we were there, no one seemed to care. We ordered Sushi and a bimbibob. The bowl came super quick, the sushi never came.. Finally after an hour I asked if we were coming up. Never got an answer. After 5 more min of nothing my husband got up and asked for the bill. They were not pleased but neither were we. No kidding we were one out of 4 tables being used. It was not busy at all. We don't know if this place switched owners or what happened but this place has gone downhill read more

Recently moved to Findlay from Houston and was looking for a good Japanese or Korean restaurant. Was slightly disappointed at first to see that many of the Korean selections had removed and the menu was now mostly sushi, but when I ordered the chirashi sushi I was blown away. Some of the freshest and tastiest sashimi I've had outside of Japan. I certainly wouldn't have expected it in a small city like Findlay, but here it is. Also appreciated the high quality genmaicha (brown rice green tea) which is rarely served in your average sushi place. Miso soup and the salad tasted pretty authentic as well. Then, before I left, the serving lady gave me a 10% discount card to use whenever I dined there, so I think I found a new favorite restaurant in Findlay! read more

There are quite a few Asian restaurants in Findlay but this restaurant really stands out among all the other mediocre Asian restaurants in Findlay. As its name implies, they serve various Asian foods such as Japanese, Thai (no longer available), and Korean foods. I mean real Asian foods. Sushi is always prepared and served in the best condition and they make really good Woodong noodle soup. If you like something hot and spicy, try their hot and spicy woodong. It's really good.
