I have been going to this Melting Pot location for years, and I always have a great time! We usually do the Meal for Two, but we have also gone on nights where they have the specials for just cheese/salad/chocolate. We have tried the Classic Alpine, Spinach Artichoke, and Cheddar cheeses. The Classic Alpine is probably my go-to, but the Spinach Artichoke is also very good. For salad, I order the California, but I request the amazing parmesan-encrusted pine nuts because they are too good. I also add the spice blend, which kicks it up a notch. As a vegetarian, I am thankful that they have the Garden Veggie entree, and it looks like they put effort on it with the meatballs and the ravioli. Some veggies - like bell peppers - are strange to cook, and the asparagus can be challenging since they are so thin, but overall, I always feel I have plenty to eat and sometimes take some home. The mushrooms are the best veggie, especially if you stuff it with the green goddess sauce after cooking it. I appreciate you can ask for more of your favorite sauces because the serving dish has pretty small portions. The Flaming Turtle is my favorite chocolate option, but we have enjoyed the S'mores and the classic milk chocolate. The waffle, pound cake, and brownie are my favorite to dip. The ambiance by the bar feels more casual because of the TVs, but we were happy they were able to change the channel to a soccer game we requested recently. We like to dress it up sometimes, but a lot of people come very casual (despite the price point). We have always had great servers who are friendly, and we appreciate they accommodate our request for two pots since my husband has veggie allergies, and I don't like to share a pot with meat cooking. First time here and it was a good experience with a theme called Wars of the Stars. The ambiance was nice. I was completely confused how the service worked until meeting our pleasant server. I ordered the sunsplash martini which was good and the Caesar salad to start; the Parmesan-dusted pine nuts were a great topping that I thoroughly enjoyed. Let's start off with the overall aesthetic if you will, I thought it was pretty nice and fairly intimate. Looked decent in its level of cleanliness which is something I like a place, especially somewhere I'm eating, to have in order. The girl who was our waitress was so bubbly and fun although I will say she said our group of girls was the best table she's had the whole night so maybe we were just hyping her up and making her feel good. Summary: It had been a long, long time since I last had gone to any Melting pot. On one hand, it did not disappoint. The four-course meal was excellent, the service was [almost] impeccable, and everything was delicious. On the other, I feel it used to be more of an unique experience... maybe it is the post-covid world we're living in... The Experience. Made the reservation very easily through the website from my phone. No awkward interactions, just fill up the form, wait for the day, and show up. That's a win right there. I arrived with a friend from work early, but close enough to the time of our reservation, and in what was pretty much the only hiccup on the service, we were told we needed to wait for our table because they were not ready to serve costumers yet. It wasn't the fact that we had to wait in itself, but something about the way they told us, what rubbed me the wrong way a little bit. However, after they took us to the table, everything ran smoothly. We ordered the two-person four-course meal. First, the Classic Alpine cheese fondue, it couldn't be more perfect, though I wouldn't mind trying every other cheese fondue on the menu before setting that statement in stone ;-) The we had the Strawberry Pecan salad, which was pretty good, but of course it wasn't the star of the night. I had the the Pacific Rim entree, and she had the land and sea, and we chose the a Coq Au Vin (burgundy) cooking style. It was... fine. The ingredients were good, no complaint about that, but with that cooking style, everything get's dyed purple with the wine, and the flavor isn't (in my opinion) really improved over the Court Bouillon... but I have my sights in trying the mojo next time. The Pure Chocolate Fondue for dessert was all that you expect... if only I could eat three or four by myself without sharing in one sitting :p However, I'm planning on testing the dark and dulce or the flaming turtle next, because they sound interesting to me. Now, here's the thing. Everything was very good, including the service, and if I had never gone to a Melting Pot before, this would have been a full five-star review (yes, even with the issue earlier about "not being ready for guests". If you go to their website and try to reserve a table, it asks you what the occasion is, and being hungry is no longer a valid reason, not even it being a weekend. Her birthday was far off and our anniversary even further off, so I decided to invent an occasion, and I am intending to submit my newly created occasion to the United States Cultural Affairs department as my contribution to the dating society. I decided to celebrate the 500th day anniversary. Technically it is not an anniversary, it should be called something like 500th day-versary, and since this word does not exist, I will submit it to Webster as my contribution to English language. You're welcome. I digress. I hadn't been to this specific location in 20 some odd years, so I wasn't sure what I was going to see, but fortunately I was pleasantly surprised. They had me at hola. We walked in a saw nice decoratios with a big bar in the back. The hostess was nice and even though we were early, we didn't have to wait and were directed to our table. Each table was in a cube with a black curtain to draw if you wanted privacy. Mind you, the curtain was see-through, so no hanky panky, but for all those who were celebrating 500th day-versary, it added a nice touch to the ambiance. The waiter was very good, and I liked the variety of options on menu. And by the way, to all those who say "if I wanted to cook my own food, I would've stayed home", if sticking something to a stick and waiting for it to cook for a minute is cooking, then I am the best chef in town and all the kids who roast marshmallows are cooks. The ONLY problem with the food is that you know that there is dessert coming up next. As everyone knows, the dessert in The Melting Pot is an experience all on its own. Just thinking about that melted chocolate dripping off strawberry makes that broccoli being cooked seem less appetizing. That is why sometimes I go there just for the dessert. I have enjoyed melting pot in the past, so when I heard this location was closing, I decided to swing by with my wife and friends. Unfortunately, it did not hit even close to the quality it has delivered in the past. The restaurant was relatively empty, yet we were there for over 3 hours at the dinning table waiting for the different courses to come out. Waters and refills were far and few in between. My friend ordered an alcoholic drink, took way too long to just come back and say they don't have the drink. He order a different one, but once again took for ever, and when the server came back she was confirming he wanted the drink (meaning it wasn't even rung in yet) . The waffle chunks tasted like they had freezer burn. Honestly, I was over the whole experience before we even got the chocolate just from how long everything was taking. I have not been to this restaurant in over 30yrs., so after much insistence from my daughter, I took her for a mom-and-daughter date night. Ambiance - The place is an updated version of what I remembered. It has a wonderful full bar and the cubby booth seating still makes for a quaint experience. Service -- This is were it got tricky. I told Yesenia, our server, that I had not been there in decades, so to explain to us the oil options they now have. She told us that she was new [few months into the job] so she had to ask her manager because she didn't know. Then, when she brought out the food with all the sauces, I asked her to explain how everything had to be prepared because I didn't remember and I wanted my daughter to get the full experience, and she didn't know that either. At that point, I asked another server to call the manager for us. The manager immediately came and she fully explained to us how to prepare our food and she brought us more sauces and batter because the server had not brought enough for 2 people. When dessert time came, our server simply disappear; and after 20 minutes of waiting, an alarmed server took over and brought out our dessert. Our server finally showed up towards the end of our dessert to tell us that she was serving other people and she was busy, so I guess we became less than in the customer category. Food -- We ordered the Classic which came with the cheese starter, salads, entrees and dessert. Overall, my daughter enjoyed it, but I think it was because it was a place I frequented when I was just a bit older than she is now, along with the novelty of the first time ever cooking anything. Bill -- Without asking if we wanted/needed anything else, Yesenia brought us our bill and just waited next to me, so I can immediately process the payment without giving me a chance to look at it. It seemed like either she didn't trust she was going to get paid and/or she wanted to make sure we gave her the suggested 18% tip [which she didn't]. Overall, that part of the dining experience was also awkward and unnecessary. Amazing night spent at The Melting Pot Miami having a fabulous four-course fondue dinner. Started out with their Octoberdest beer cheese with pretzels, short rib, and sausages. The cheese is so perfect and goes very well with everything. Next, the meal was followed by a California salad of greens with gorgonzola cheese and walnuts which was so flavorful I could've kept eating it all night. The main course was terriyaki steak, chicken, shrimp and more of those fabulous sausages. The flavors were just so good that I am dreaming of having more. Lastly, the chocolate fondue which was served with an assortment of dipping items like strawberries, bananas, apples, waffles, and cream pufffs. The milk chocolate was just the right combination for everything. The drinks were made strong and flavorful. My Dark and Stormy was made perfectly. This place used to be great years ago - I'm not sure if it's because I was younger or if the place let itself go. I remember: elegant restaurant, romantic, dim lighting so much food, great quality. Reality now: feels like an expensive chain restaurant without the expensive food quality. Portions have gotten SO SMALL - like they even cheaped out on the bread for the cheese (which is sooooo cheap and filling?!) the meals BARELY have any food - like a few pieces of steak and like 3 veggies. They even cheaped out on the veggies!! Not kidding - we only got 4 mushrooms - 2 for each. The steak and shrimp quality wasn't even good - seriously, very very tiny. But last night was by far my best experience yet and it was all due to our lovely server, Kaylin! She is upbeat, knowledgeable, and it's undeniable she sincerely enjoys ensuring her guests are well taken care of. I even noticed the folks at the table next to ours commenting about how great she is when she walked away from serving them their drinks. Whatever we needed, Kaylin provided for us enthusiastically. I'll start with a shoutout to our server, Mr. Casanova, who was nothing short of amazing. He made great recommendations from our wine, cheese, main entrees, and of course the finalé... the dessert! This past Friday we went with the kids and were seated right away, the table has a counter top where all the fondues are cooked. Our waiter was amazing, he provided very detailed explanation of all the dishes that we ordered, the first fondue to arrive was the Cheese, called Quattro Formaggio. It included four different types of cheese including my favorite Mozzarella with white wine and roasted garlic, it was amazing we licked it clean. It comes with slices of bread, veggies, and apple for dipping. Then main entree arrived which included shrimp, tuna, pot stickers, chicken, beef, and veggies and we ask for the mojo broth used in the fondue. It was good but you need to be patient because it is recommended that cook your meats at least for two minutes. Then the moment that we were waited for arrived the chocolate fondue, we order the dark and milk chocolate which came with fruits, pound cakes, brownies, and rice crispy treats to dip.
