This is definitely a top-five hole in the wall place for me! Driving from Elk Grove to Antioch and saw passes by the town of Isleton. Drove down Main Street and saw this cool looking deli. Didn't even check Yelp for the review. Walked in and was greeted with a smile. The young man at the counter helped me with my order. I got the croissant club and a zombie 8. Both were excellent! If there was a place to eat out front would have been good. Also got a pack of their mango habanero jerky. Yummy with a bite. I'll have to stop back by next time I'm in the area. read more

Headed to Isleton to try out Mei Wah Beer Room and decided to grab lunch at The McBoodery. What a great find. The staff was super helpful and patient. The shop is very cute and unique inside. We got our sandwiches and 2 zombies to try. If you have never had a zombie, you must go and try them! It's like a calzone, but with sandwich type ingredients. The Taco zombie had taco meat and cheese inside and was SO delicious. We also tried the Ham and Cheese Zombie. Again, amazing! It was so tasty and different from your normal lunch. We ate our food at Mei Wah but walked back for desserts. We got the brownie, the cookie, and the strawberry short cake. They were all excellent, but the strawberry shortcake was off the charts. We also tried the Gluten Free Brownie, which was also a hit! They have plenty of street parking and are super easy to find. We will definitely be back, likely often! read more

Food was amazing! And the service was great!! We ordered sandwiches and they were delicious!

Sarah, one of the owners, reached out after reading my previous review and offered replacement. Although Isleton isn't exactly close, I still decided to make a drive out and give them another try! We tried their sweet and savory zombies. While I initially came for their sweet ones, the savory's are what stole the show ... so fresh and so filling!! My favorite was the Thanksgiving zombie - sliced turkey with stuffing, cranberry and gravy. GoodNess ... it was really, really good!! Hubby's favorite was the Philly Cheese and you can't go wrong with the Chicken Pot Pie one either. PS ... They post their daily specials on their website. The will make any of their sandwiches as salads. They have GF and Keto breads, and also offer GF brownies. I look forward to stopping by again and trying more of their goodies! read more

I discovered this gem while looking for a fun spot to grab sandwiches and picnic items on our way to Bogle Winery. What a find! The food is all homemade and absolutely incredible. We tried the pastrami sandwich, the eight-cheese jalapeño zombie, the mufalatish, some amazing ranch pasta, and a pumpkin dessert that was to die for! And the prices--unbelievable! It felt like stepping back 20 years. The service was fantastic too; they set us up perfectly for our picnic. I can't recommend this place enough. It's well worth a little drive for such a unique, delicious experience! read more

The best hot pastrami I've ever had! Husband said his mortadella & Swiss was awesome. We both loved the house-made pasta, and I can't wait to try the house-made jerky we bought. Super-friendly folks there. We'll definitely be back! read more

Superb spot for ice cream and desserts! We made an unplanned stop at Isleton since the road to Suinsun City was jammed, and found our way walking by McBroodery. They serve some amazing icecream, super affordable, lovely flavors (Cherry!) and a wide assortment of home made desserts and sandwiches. We tried the ice cream, brownies and the cheesecake ... and everyone was super happy Definitely coming back for more treats! read more

I finally had a chance to drive up to Isleton to try a sandwich at McBoodery. I asked about the source for cold cuts and found out they don't use Boars Head. Yay!!! My first sammie was the toasted croissant ham/turkey with avocado/bacon. I went a bit crazy as it was my first time and picked up the bread pudding, the chocolate pudding?, the banana pudding, potato salad, and chocolate chip cookie. All of the food did not disappoint. I have since been back twice. Both times for the roast beef sammie. I am tempted to try a zombie but just not sure I would enjoy it. It's a bit out of my way as we are 25 miles from the location but maybe a trip once a week will be a good thing! read more

The wife and I ordered take out from The McBoodery twice over Labor Day weekend during their opening weekend ! Both times it was amazing! My wife had the daily special roast beef and I had a custom turkey ! Everything was fresh and made to order, and of course I was happy to hear they had bacon to add to my sandwich. I had a potato's salad side while the wife had pesto pasta salad, both were also fresh and tasted amazing ! When we came back the second time we got our hands on some of their BEEF Jerky! They were previously sold out because it's THAT good. More potato and pasta sides and we were happy campers ! The shop was VERY clean and had safety precautions in place for social distancing. We will definitely be regulars ! We wish you great success ! read more

Ended up in the Delta on a random Sunday while doing a drive cycle for my car and remembered wanting to try this place since my husband and I love sandwiches. My husband got the muffaletta-ish sandwich since who knows when we'll make it out to New Orleans! And I got the zombie with some potato salad. One of the best potato salads I've ever had! Didn't get any desserts but the brownies looked amazing! Will definitely come back to try more sandwiches, zombies, and their pasta salad. Definitely a sandwich shop worth multiple visits! read more

Husband brought a croissant club home for me but I'd already eaten. Stuck it in the fridge and had it the next day. Still delicious!!

The food is always on point. The service is top notch, always there happy & ready to serve. The atmosphere is wonderful. My friend and I were exploring in the Delta and came upon this place. As soon as we entered and saw what they offered, I knew it had to be the best food in town. We were initially put off by the fact that there was no table service, but we were assured we could sit down to eat our food at the beer hall a few doors down. We ordered two sandwiches, a portion of homemade corn chowder, and some ice cream (Gunther's, a Sacramento brand). Everything was delicious. The person at the counter was friendly and helpful. I brought home some house-made beef jerky to my husband, who pronounced it delicious. This place is terrific and should not be missed if you're in the area. read more

I've watched business after business settle in this location and then close down. Really hope they're here to stay. Almost everything I've had here has been super delicious! Not a fan of a couple experimental things that were on the menu a while back, but they've disappeared so no point even listing them. Love, love, LOVE their delicious potato salad. Brownies are superb. I haven't quite settled on a favorite sandwich yet. But I'm in no rush. I'll try everything on that menu before making a final decision. read more

ecided to go for a drive along the river to get the pup and boyfriend out of the house and saw this place. Staff was super friendly, store front was pretty busy (usually a good sign). The person at the counter steered us in the direction of the ZOMBIES! Super filling and tasty. We got the chicken teriyaki (saucy and heathy amount of chicken and slaw), Thanksgiving (literally thanksgiving in a tasty roll complete with the cranberry sauce), and my favorite was the 8 cheese and jalapeño. Melted ooey gooey deliciousness. Also tried the bread pudding and it got the stamp approval from the picky partner who is a self proclaimed bread pudding connoisseur. We will certainly be back! read more

McBoodery is the best! Need to grab lunch around the delta? This is the spot! Mike and Sarah know what they're doing with bread, sides, and have interesting rotating menu specials all the time! Had one of their zombies (kind of like a handheld sized pasty/kolache/calzone, but totally its own thing) that had an outstanding pesto, cheese and mixed veggie filling (they're vegetarian friendly and have great GF options also) that was really tasty and well made. Perfectly baked, super flavorful, great ratio of filling to bread, and the balance of moisture kept the texture of the bread great inside and out without getting it at all soggy. Overall, a really well made delicious lunch! Eat local, eat well, and keep outstanding businesses like the McBoodery making amazing food! read more

I'm not a big fan of sandwiches not made by my own hands (see my Pickles & Swiss review) but The McBoodery's croissant club blew my apprehension & suspicions right out of the water. Not only was it reasonably priced, it was as delicious as any I've ever made at home. The customer service was great, the young lady that took my order did it with what I'm sure was a smile behind the mask she was wearing. My sandwich was served within 10 minutes of my order, was hot and, very delicious. My lady had the coleslaw which she said was also great. Get yourself to Isleton as quick as you can & stop by for some delicious snacks and sandwiches. The chocolate chip & bacon cookies are very tasty. I hope when I get back to the area this place is still there. I recommend this place to everyone. Thanks for the great lunch and the excellent service. read more

The McBoodery - Outside McBoodery in Isleton, CA. Love this place. - Sandwiches Near Me - Isleton, California

I ended up in Isleton since it was the nearest post office with open appointments to get my passport. I stopped in this sandwich shop and was amazed by how good it is. The shop itself is quaint and only has a bench to sit on while you wait, but the food is incredible! I had a chicken, bacon, ranch zombie and it was perfection. The brioche roll was so soft and it was incredibly flavorful. The pastries looked delicious, so I purchased a brownie and it did not disappoint. It was moist with the perfect amount of sweetness. I wish I lived closer, but I'll definitely be back. The staff was friendly and the service was relatively quick even though they were busy. read more

An amazing place! They make their own sourdough bread. They pickle the onions. They make yummy brownies. All this in funky rundown Isleton

This place is FANTASTIC! They make many of the breads and spreads and cheeses! Generous portions and the best damn potato salad ever. Umm did I mention the zombies. Basically a house made brioche stuffed with the delightful sweet or savory Goodies. Nearby Mei Wah Beer Room has partnered with the McBoodery so you can eat three doors down in the taproom or outside in the beer garden when they're open. There are vegan and gluten free options including the house made hummus. Any sandwich can be made into a salad too.
