We just happened to be in the area a few weeks ago and I was craving some of their delicious catfish and greens. We stopped in, thinking we'd have to order off the menu since they got rid of the buffet post-covid, but we were pleasantly surprised when we were told that the buffet is back. The best part about the buffet is the fact that you can sample several things without committing to ordering an entire dish of it. That said, I tend to stick to my favorites. Their collard greens are fantastic. I also like the scalloped potatoes, red beans and rice, and the fried chicken. The catfish tenders are the absolute best and they are brought to your table as a complimentary item to have along with your meal. Trust me when I tell you that this is the best catfish ever. And they give you a delicious honey mustard dipping sauce to boot. Yes, honey mustard. Trust me, it works! I wish we could get over here more often, especially now that the buffet is back in action. My only complaint is that several of the dishes were empty when we arrived and they didn't get filled before we left. I got a smidgen of greens and was told that they'd be bringing out more, but that didn't happen before we had to leave, unfortunately. The staff are so kind and genuinely happy to have your business. The restaurant is very festive in New Orleans/Mardi Gras style. You have to check this place out. Your taste buds will thank you!

I regularly order meal prep and I'm always satisfied with the variety of choices, the ease of online ordering and the convenience of delivery. Last year for my birthday, my husband ordered to go catering from there and the food was packed so nicely and they even included a birthday cake from Brown Cow Bakery (it was so good). We drove 4hrs to a cabin and the food warmed up and was served and was still just as delicious as when I get it for meal prep. Last month my husband and I caught the burger burn Chef Curry does and my KC Burger was amazing. Here's hoping we can get a shrimp and grits pop up. Until then I'll keep ordering the amazing risotto for meal prep.

I'm not much of a healthy food meal prepper, but they have plenty of portion controlled to-go options if that's what you're into. They also do really well with catering, especially with vegetarian/gluten free options. I've ordered catering from them multiple times and it's always a huge hit. All of their options are healthy and flavorful. They are easy to work with, arrive early every time, and conveniently deliver to the health sciences center area. I couldn't recommend them more if you are looking for a new catering option.

We definitely have our favorites now: the Brussels sprouts, wings, half chicken, jalapeño mac, mashed potatoes... and OMG, the Club Special might seriously be the best I've ever had! When we got there, we had a great table, but the sign wasn't on the table. I asked the server and he said he would get it. An hour and a half later, another server finally found a sign for us. Our server took our order and it would take 30 minutes plus to get a drink. We were all very patient because it was packed and I'm sure it was taking a while to make all the drinks at the bar. Our server must've had several tables because we didn't see him very often. We started ordering drinks two at a time because we wouldn't see him for 20 to 30 minutes. The entertainment consisted of two women dressed up like disco balls and another person dressed up in a disco ball suit. They would walk around and dance. It was cool, but I kind of thought from the advertisement that there would be more. At the end, we waited for like 15-20 minutes to get our check and finally asked another server to get it for us. He told our waiter. We got our check and we all had 23% gratuity automatically attached to it. I wasn't aware that it would be 23% and had we had an attentive waiter, that probably would've been OK. I love La Brasa's ambience, but I feel like for those events they need more bartenders and/or servers. Overall, I would probably go again because it really is a vibe, but be prepared to wait quite a while for your drink.
