Last year for my birthday, my husband ordered to go catering from there and the food was packed so nicely and they even included a birthday cake from Brown Cow Bakery (it was so good). We drove 4hrs to a cabin and the food warmed up and was served and was still just as delicious as when I get it for meal prep. Last month my husband and I caught the burger burn Chef Curry does and my KC Burger was amazing. Here's hoping we can get a shrimp and grits pop up. Love love love love this place. Their sandwiches, salads, and soups are all amazing for dining in. They specialize in all things modern American comfort food. I'm not much of a healthy food meal prepper, but they have plenty of portion controlled to-go options if that's what you're into. They also do really well with catering, especially with vegetarian/gluten free options. I've ordered catering from them multiple times and it's always a huge hit. All of their options are healthy and flavorful. They are easy to work with, arrive early every time, and conveniently deliver to the health sciences center area. This was my first time ordering prepared meals from Chef Curry, and it was my first time at their new location, so I felt it was time to do an update. First of all, the new location is the office building directly next-door to the Belle Isle Library - you can't miss it. Parking is in back and then it is just inside. There is tons of parking, including some 15 minute carryout parking designated for Chef Curry. They still have a fantastic menu of made-to-order items, so don't forget about this as a perfect lunch spot. For meal prep meals, you must order by Friday at midnight, either by calling or online. You must order at least four meals, and then they are ready for pickup the following Monday between 4-6p. For an additional $10 you can have them delivered (if in range). My family opted for the following: - Two orders of the grilled shrimp with brown rice and veggies - One order of turkey bolognese on egg noodles (for kids) - One order of turkey bolognese on Zoodles (for mom and dad) - One order of grilled chicken - Side orders of green beans, sweet potatoes and roasted carrots - Two side salads with ranch All of this was $96. During a busy week playing catch up after the ice storm, and since my fridge hasn't been fully restocked and ready for cooking yet, this was a God-send. My kids loved everything, and so did my husband and I. I could tell I was eating healthy, although it didn't taste like diet food. Just lower in sodium, nothing fried, not too much butter, etc. I felt better eating this way, perhaps due in part to the fact that there is built-in portion control. I don't need meal prep every week, but I may do this once a month to help us get through a busy week. Highly recommend, and hope you enjoy it as much as we did. read more

I was looking for someone to cook Mother's Day dinner for me. I needed a break. We were keeping it simple and just the 4 of us. I came across Chef Curry through Brown Cow Bakeshop who was doing the desserts for their Mothers Day meal. We were able to pick a main dish, 2 sides, salad and bread and pick a dessert. We had chicken Marsala, mushroom risotto, grilled veggies and a peach blueberry tart. Everything was wonderful! Packaged great!!! The dessert from Browncow Bakeshop was a hit. Unfortunately I don't have photos, but what I had for lunch was the veggie wrap with a side of mixed fruit and pasta salad. All of which was amazing! The mixed fruit had strawberries, blueberries and kiwi. I cannot stress how much I love that assortment of fruit. Typically when fruit comes as a side it's usually strawberries, honeydew and cantaloupe. For me not being a fan of cantaloupe and honeydew, that just turns me off and I end up just getting french fries, which is the less healthy option. So the fact that their assortment of fruit was three different fruits that I love was an absolute plus in my book. The pasta salad, as well as the fruit, was just the right portion. It was coded in the perfect amount of dressing, not too much not too little. And do not even get me started on that wrap!!! It was so good!!! Absolutely full of flavor. Finally got to check out this local gem today for lunch! Was a wonderful experience. Menu is full of light options packed with variety and flavor. I got the combo with soup/sandwich and did not disappoint. They were serving a Tuscany soup today as the special and I was quickly brought a sample after only mentioning it sounded good. I've been here three times, twice dine in and once a call in order. As a vegan I'm very particular with my orders but since everything is made fresh to order they are perfectly capable of accommodating me. The first time I ate here, I called in my order and went through the ingredients to how the onions are caramelized. At this point, I realized that Chef Curry is the real deal and has the patience of Job. I've had the sweet potato and kale salad which in my mind ties with the quinoa salad (hold the feta) as my favorites. I cannot describe how delicious the quinoa was and the freshness of the arugula and diced tomato. I prefer the veggie sandwich (hold the pesto mayo for vegans) over the veggie wrap but it's really cool how they offer multiple types of tortillas for the wrap. Everything I have eaten has amazing flavor and the service has been amazing. The pricing for the lunch special is hard to beat considering it's fresh and made to order and they are locally owned. Chef Curry to Go's location is kind of easy to miss, tucked away in a small shopping center next to Sonic, but after passing the place several times, I took notice and decided to give it a try. As the name suggests, it mostly caters to the "to-go" crowd, but it is possible to eat in. Just order at the counter and indicate your preference. I am gluten free and thus higher maintenance than most diners. They were very accommodating and helped identify suitable options for my diet. Their options ranged from salads and soups to full entrees. (They also have sandwiches, burgers, and pastas for the bread-eaters.) I settled on Italian Sausage Stew with a side of Quinoa Salad, and both were superb. I'm a fan of quinoa but find that many quinoa salads served elsewhere are disappointingly dry and lacking in flavor. This salad contains arugula, chickpeas, feta, and the appropriate amount of dressing and could easily stand on its own as an entrée with or without protein. The soup was hearty and delicious, the perfect comfort food. In this area of town, near Whole Foods, it is quite easy to spend a bank-breaking $15-20 for a lunch so I am thrilled to find this gem. I am not a light eater and my lunch was more than ample to satiate my appetite at under $10. I will definitely be returning. read more
