I started with the Wabi Sabi which was as interesting as it sounded. While I didn't pick up on fennel, you do pick up on the wasabi, but in the most subtle of ways. Think maybe lime/ginger sparkling water with just a hint of spice. Refreshing and different for sure. I also tried the Mucha Lucha w/ cilantro infused Siete Leguas Blanco, chorizo infused mezcal and cubes made of hot sauce that make the drink have a bit more of a kick as you allow them to melt. I did the HH chips and guac which was also accompanied with a tasty Chipotle sauce. Damn good actually. It'd be excellent served in a variety of ways. The deviled eggs aren't going to blow your mind, but I like that you get 4 different ones- and simply because I love eggs, I'd order them again. (They just wouldn't be a dish that brings me back). The bartender was great- helpful and attentive, even as more people began to filter in for an early afternoon. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Napa to check out some other menu options.

Love being up on the rooftop with a view of the river and downtown Napa. When the breeze hits and the music is playing, it's like you have your own private party. We were greeted with happy faces, seated immediately. The only thing that I would say is a negative is since we had our dogs with us nobody provided them with any water while we were enjoying our lunch. If you're going to be pet friendly, please provide water dishes, or some sort of way for our pups to not stay thirsty. The other part that I was really discouraged about was that if you wanted to sit upstairs, you had to order at the bar and then carry your items up the stairs. This was not feasible as we had two dogs with us and so it was just an uncomfortable situation. The food was ok, I ordered the fried rice came out on a cute little pineapple, my partner had one of their burgers. I ordered one of their Fofo drinks and it was really delicious! But each drink cost around $15-$20 each. Overall for two people that Check was well over $100 and that was just having a drink and a meal each.

I won't bother with the things I liked after my card was used for fraudulent online purchases by someone at this location and I believe it was the male bartender...who I just happened to take photos of. I used cash and credit card everywhere accept here where I used my debit card with the male bartender. My friends used their cards with the female bartenders that arrived later and had no issues/fraudulent transactions. I don't know how it happened as I still had my ATM card, but as I headed home that evening I got a fraud alert showing 7 transactions just under 400 made at an online thrift store. They attempted an 8th purchase which was declined by my bank and the only reason I was notified. The place wasn't packed (Maybe 6 other ppl outside my group) and no one else was close enough to scan or get my card information from me other than the male bartender. My bank told me after investigating it was initiated from a Napa IP address and no, I don't live in Napa and of course i didn't make these purchases. I'm filling out a police report as well in hopes this won't happen to anyone else and to ensure that there are consequences for the person that did this. Just made a great day into a foul experience.

The drinks are a little pricey but it's not your average dive bar so that's to be expected. The ambience actually made me want to possibly host something here. He also kept track of which wines we preferred and was most helpful. He is quite the character and very gracious...... We liked the variety presented on their cheese board which was a very nice complement to their wine. We purchased two bottles of the vintage we most enjoyed and plan to return when the tasting urge strikes us again.

When we arrived our party was 30 minutes late. On a Saturday night I was concerned if we were going to get a table. Fortunately the receptionist was able to find a table for our party around 6.:00 PM, but he stated we would have to be out by 8:00 PM. I looked at the menu. Since I was going to a steakhouse in Las Vegas in late September I decided not to order steak. For the entree I decided between the branzino or beef short rib. While I am at Vegas I will be going to an Italian restaurant where they serve branzino. So I decided to go with the beef short rib at Bottega. I asked the server what pasta would go well with the beef short rib. He suggested the Spaghetti alla Sophia Loren. I'll be honest I thought after seeing pictures of the spaghetti the Spaghetti alla Sophia Loren would be bigger. The portion was smaller than I anticipated. If the portion is small the flavor better stand out. The spaghetti was al dente. What I liked about the Spaghetti alla Sophia Loren was the cherry tomatoes as they were sweet not tarty as tomatoes can be. Even though the portion of the Spaghetti alla Sophia Loren was small I wasn't full for my main course. Next was the main entrée the beef short rib. I really enjoyed this dish. The beef short rib was moist, but not too rich that I felt bloated. What also cuts the richness of the short beef rib is the polenta. Out of the two dishes I ordered the short beef rib was tastier. I was too full to order dessert even though some of the items were enticing. However I got a complimentary dessert for my birthday. Overall I fun enjoyable with my family for dinner at Bottega.

Aside from that, I would say the service was pretty standard. For my entrée, I ordered the braised short ribs and substituted the polenta for potatoes, and they were absolutely delicious. The short ribs were incredibly tender and easily fell off the bone. The potatoes were a great substitution and paired really well with the dish. This was definitely the highlight of the meal for me. At the end of dinner, they surprised me with a complimentary birthday plate with an assortment of small desserts and fresh berries, a candle, and "Buon Compleanno" written in chocolate. It was beautifully presented and a really thoughtful touch that made celebrating my birthday there feel a little more special. Overall, it was a nice birthday dinner. Nothing was particularly out of the ordinary, but I really enjoyed the romantic atmosphere, my short ribs were delicious, and I appreciated the birthday dessert plate at the end.
