Called and requested a full reset of my home. It hadn't received a proper cleaning in months and I wanted to get back to the starting line to maintain it from there. Three people arrived and immediately stated wiping things down without asking for what I wanted besides verifying the rooms to be cleaned. I specifically mentioned the baseboards and windows to their team lead then went back to work (I work from home). They completed the clean in an hour and a half and I was surprised they were able to complete everything so quickly. They had packed up their supplies and waited by the door while I completed payment. I wasn't able to fully look over their work until 2 days later, when I went to open a window and my fingers came back covered in dust. Shocked, I checked and they had not wiped down the window sills but only cleaned the glass. They did not move any furniture when sweeping or mopping. They even skipped over half of my bedroom and didn't scrub the shower walls. Frustrated, I called to have a team return to complete the services and address the oversight. I left a message as no one answered the phone and am still waiting on a call 5 days later. Would not recommend unless you're looking for someone to do what you are full capable of doing yourself and nothing more. $240 for this! Not worth the headache. read more

The Maids are a ripoff! Charging 175$ an hour for 3 girls who come in with no mop, bags, or a broom...just cleaning supplies I kid you not! They asked what I wanted done...I said the whole 1000 ft condo...I need a good cleaning because the painters cant paint over dirt on baseboards...one girl started in the kitchen who did not clean out the drawers and was there for an hour and a half, spent most of her time on the appliances... .one girl named Jennifer who was the only one who spoke English worked in a small half bath for 40 minutes...did not clean out the cabinets of the vanity or wipe down the walls. ...The 3rd girl kept walking up from the bottom bedroom and kept asking questions to Jennifer something in Spanish.. .then all 3 walked down and started working in the bedroom and bathroom...they did not empty drawers or wipe down walls...and did not touch the closet! I called Jennifer back in and said why did you not touch light switch panel. She brought a rag and wiped it down. I got robbed of 284$ for an hour and a half of watching 3 out of the 3 woman milking it in one place. I asked a girl in the kitchen who is going to mop around the fireplace...she said No comprendy.....DO NOT USE THE MAIDS, you do not get your money's worth!. Now I have to go back and clean my condo! This review is so painful to write that there is a major lag on it. Picture this: President's Day 2013. Normally a 2:30 show, The Maids came at noon. Well, okay: it was a holiday. In 20 minutes they were done. Was it my imagination or did the place really not even smell clean? I heard a vacuum cleaner, but did I really hear it? Nope, nope, not clean. Hired to do a move out cleaning job, house was empty of all belongings. They sent 4 people at $200 per hour. Did a horribly lazy unprofessional job. Requested all drawers to be vacuumed and wiped, oven cleaned and thorough deep clean. They didn't wipe baseboards, didn't clean oven until brought to attention, didn't clean the drawers. We decided to hire them as our wedding is coming up in a few weeks, and family is coming into town. The team came in today to do a deep clean of our 2 bedroom loft apartment and took just over 2 hours. And when we came home - all I can say is AAAAMAZING!!!!! My home hadn't had a "deep cleaning" in many years so I hired The Maids to come in, wash the walls in 2 rooms and clean the entire house's trim, baseboard and doors. The quote was $300 which I was told was a discount. Pros: Vanessa was very professional and a pleasure to deal with. She came over quickly to give me an accurate estimate and got the quote out to me in a timely fashion. She definately did show up with 4/5 ladies who worked just over the quoted time of 2.75 hours and what they cleaned looks just great. They actually washed my blinds which was extra as Vanessa only quoted to have them vaccumed. Awesome. Cons: They missed a few spots. I have baseboard radiant heaters and they missed a couple, along with a couple pieces of trim and only partially cleaned the trim above a couple doors. I wiped my finger over a few doors and there was still some dirt that came off. I wanted to give a higher rating, if I could I'd give 3.5 stars. read more

They do not know how to clean good and expensive. They don't wipe, move furniture to clean under them, don't fold clothes, don't wash dishes, don't clean the pantry, windows etc. I wasted $350 3 times. They don't speak English therefore make it extremely hard to communicate with the employees. I would not recommend them. read more

I LOVE this service! They clean our house every three weeks. Between 3 and 5 people come each time, they bring EVERYTHING they need with them -- vacuums, mops, rags, supplies -- and they're gone in under 2 hours. The house sparkles and I'm only inconvenienced for a short period of time. Not having to buy and store all that cleaning stuff is definitely a plus and I've been told it's all green. Vanessa is a joy to deal with. Even though I frequently reschedule and/or ask for emergengy-our-in-laws-are-coming-next-week service, she's always pleasant and accommodating. I recently moved to Lisle area because of my job. I called maids for cleaning service before my household goods come to new place however the service what I got...it's really poor and gave me extremely horrible experience about them. I got an estimated $115/h and cleaning team came and done for two hours at pretty empty house. When I came back from my work and check their service at my home...maid's service was really bad. I really don't know what they really cleaned my house. Ever since the horrible service, my wife and I began to clean up entire house again because of they didn't do their job properly. I could not believe how much they charged for the service we received. We paid over $400 for a "move in cleaning" the house was far from being thoroughly clean. The space was empty so a thorough clean should have been simple. I was told that they were cleaning in and out of cabinets, appliances, all along surfaces, tops of ceiling fans, disinfecting floors and door knobs. We walked in and the house didn't even smell clean, the refrigerator still smelled, there was dust along the kitchen cabinets and ceiling fans. We chose The Maids because of the reviews on Yelp, but was disappointed by the service provided. The crew: Very friendly and easy to work with. Brought all their own cleaning supplies and appeared to be working hard the entire time. The Job: An empty house. We asked for the kitchen drawers, baseboards, walls, floors, and bathrooms. The job done: Some of the work done was really great. The bathrooms looked good, kitchen sink and counter was lovely. The floors were good. However, the cabinets (which were empty) were not done well and a handful of them were skipped. Two rooms were skipped entirely, as there was still cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. The window sills were still disgusting and filled with dead bugs. The closets, which were empty of our items, were still filled with cobwebs, dirt and insects. The Price: The cost was close to the quote they gave us. Which, if they had done a great job, would have been a fair price. However, due to the fact that there were major obvious parts of the house that were not cleaned at all, we felt like the price was high. It is a shame to have to give a less than rave review, as the crew was extremely kind and nice, but their work did not warrant the price charged. read more

I called for cleaners to clean a townhouse to put on the market after a move out. The representative for The Maids (Vanessa) quoted me about $220. thinking it would take 3 people about 2 - 21/2 hours. The house was super clean already - I just wanted to wipe out drawers, frig - not the stove, vacuum - a once over. Well, there were 4 people - still took 21/2 hours and cost $440. and the sinks don't even feel clean. The vacuum they use is not as powerful as it should be either - you can barely tell it was vacuumed at all. Really mediocre job for over twice what it should have cost. I have no other words to say for this company other than do not waste your time and money on them. Just to sum things up, we had them come out to our house for an hour and a half and paid nearly $300 dollars. They "cleaned" our kitchen and dining room which is probably the size (or smaller) than an average master bedroom. When we came home after the cleaning, we didn't notice anything different other than the blinds being cleaned on ONE side (when we flipped them over they were dusty and dirty on the other side). We were so disappointed because when we clean our own house we can do 10x a better job in 2 hours than they could do to our small kitchen in 1 1/2 hours.
