We have been to the Lyric Theater in Stuart for many events. I read some comments about the acoustics but the concerns most folks had related to the equipment brought by the performers, not that of the theater. The reason this historic theater is a great place to see a show is how up close and personal these performances have been. For a small theater to book artists like Ricky Lee Jones or Bruce Hornsby / and groups like Adam Ezra or the Outlaws is amazing. The employees and volunteer staff are wonderful and amazing. Nice cozy theater. I went to see Ana Popovic perform . Great seats , great sound. Parking is a bit of a crapshoot. I did not see a parking garage, so I assume it is all street parking. Good luck finding a close spot. We parked across from the Lyric about 4 or 5 blocks away. Once inside , you will see the small bar straight ahead to your right. I suggest getting 2 drinks. We were shown the no video sign by the usher midway thru the performance. The balcony seats , which I would have loved to have bought, were all empty. Not sure if they were bought or reserved by Lyric club members and they did not show, or if they were available for purchase. Did not show they were available when I was purchasing tickets. All seats were $50. Excellent price. After the show, while we were waiting for pics and merchandise from Ana, for 20 to 30 minutes, I would have loved to have grabbed a beer from the bar, but the bar was closed after the show. I will definitely be back for another live performance. read more

We absolutely LOVE this little theater in downtown Stuart Florida! It is a lovely, intimate venue to see a show. Each year in late May we check out the line-up for the next season of shows and purchase our seats. We enjoy sitting in the balcony. They even have a full bar and you can enjoy a beverage while you watch the show. My personal favorite is the Lyric Pinot Noir. Most recently we saw Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits fame and had a blast. At 77 years young he is a fabulous entertainer. Highly recommend the Lyric Theater, it is a treasure to be sure! read more

Bought tickets for my sister and self to listen to the cover band of her favorite group. The acoustics were absolutely horrible. Microphones were not working. The band walked off the stage. Unbelievable!!!! We finally left because no one could tell us what was happening. Hopefully they will make it right by refunding the cost of the tickets. I received a call regarding the refund options the next day- can't ask for better service recovery. read more

What an absolute delight to stroll along the quaint coastal historic streets of Stuart and come across the Lyric theater. I thought how quaint a community theater for the small population of this quiet little pretty town. When I saw the line up I had to look twice as I saw among other internationally known musicians and performers was on the very nights I was there in town: Branford Marsalis!!! And.... Pat Metheny!!!! Sold out. I called the box office and got in a waitlist yes they have that option. Luckily I snagged two tickets top center balcony and was a magical evening. No crowds though the house was full, a couple of drunkards yes but it was more embarrassing for them than bothersome for us. It was my 1st time, it was a great time! We saw the Bronx Wanderers, it was a fun time, I didn't know what to expect! They played some oldies which were b4 my time luckily I had an older brother so I knew lots. It's a family band, the son Vinnie is energetic and really puts himself out there in a good way. Loved watching him and the others too! Great show I hope to see them again. The theatre is small and nice. The seats a lil close... I sat between my husb and friends so I was fine, but my husb sat next to a bigger guy and shoulder wise was a lil tight. Definitely will come again for more shows. Everyone that worked there that I spoke with were nice, helpful and made the experience great! read more

This historic theater in downtown Stuart was built in 1926 by John C. Hancock who came to Stuart in 1902 where he grew pineapples and opened an insurance business. He eventually became a judge. The lyric was actually the third and grandest theater built as it was constructed at the height of the Florida land boom. It was used to show silent movies until the Great Depression. It was sold several times and used as a church in 1978. When the church moved out in 1987 there was a push to save the historic buildings in the downtown Stuart area. A group Friends of the Lyric formed and were able to restore the theater. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 12, 1933. In 2095 the Lyrics stage was enlarged and a dressing area was added. In 2014 the lobby was remodeled and new seating was added to the orchestra section. Since 1987 the 500 seat Lyric has been a venue for classical, rock, country, and jazz performances as well as dance and school performances. In the historical section of downtown Stuart on would find along the railroad tracks the Lyric Theater. Built in 1926, this theater had been a place to watch silent movies. Sometime in 2014, they renovated and upgraded the theatre which provides about 500 comfortable seats and a sizable bar area in the lobby. The acoustics were also enhanced as well. We were there to hear a copy Chicago band that was from the local area. They were entertaining the crowd for about two hours. A wonderful evening in a historical quaint town. read more

We went to see Mindi Adair and friends 2 nights ago. The theater is lovely and her show was great. Very talented group. However, the acoustics, most likely due to volume, were horrible. People were actually blocking their ears. It was hard to understand the words of the song and such a shame. Lyric, turn the volume down!! read more

The Lyric Theater in Stuart Fl is one of the best theaters in Florida. Sound system, acoustics were all above my expectations. I see no less than 30 concerts a year and I play live in a band 40 shows a year. I would love to play there in that intimate setting. On top of that, they get the A + group of performers there. read more

The Lyric Theater itself is very nice! It is a very historic theater and the shows are beautiful. The staff at the Lyric Theater, on the other hand, is very unprofessional and rude. I recently watched the Nutcracker at the Lyric Theater and the attendants in the Theater after the show was over were very rude. The attendants were making rude comments to get us out of the Theater and were acting very unprofessional. I think the Theater is a really nice place to watch shows, but it would be more pleasant to be there if the attendants made an effort to be polite to the audience. read more

Newly renovated The Lyric Theatre is a gem in the heart of downtown Stuart. The renovations look immaculate and the atmosphere is even more wonderful than before. A Christmas Carol is the first production my wife and I are seeing today since the re-opening and it is just great! read more

Can't rate it because we were not able to attend for March 11th concert for The Moody Blues due to not being able to find ANY parking. Rode around and around for about 30 minutes and decided to just go home. Beware to future concert goers to arrive several hours before your show (maybe have dinner first). This evenings venue was sad.. Jim Messina was entertaining at the beginning. First of all EVERYONE IS VACCINATED that enter in the doors as no one is under the age of 40 would have any interest in doing so. The acoustics were terrible. WE FELT IT WAS LIKE NORTH KOREA... they had no less that 6 very large bouncers men, sitting in stations on her high top chairs over seeing our mask uses? Then going around and intimidating the crowd if one was caught with it off the nose during to concert. We we're on the upper balcony with no other patrons, but we we're still harassed for improper mask usage. Only 1 and 1/2 hours into to the concert many or us were leaving. The MASK police RUINED THE EVENING. At least 1/8 th walkout before it was over at around 8:30 when we did. We were the only ones in our row but were still harassed. It's October of 2021.. if you don't mind big dudes tapping you on the shoulder and telling you to put on your gag or else.. for a venue your paid good money to watch.... Go for it. I Won't go again! THEY DIDN'T have A LIQUID HAND SANITIZER STATION IS SITE! PS it in the small print of your ticket AFTER YOU PAY AND PRINT IT, THAT ITS MASK MANDATORY. read more

Love going to this gem of a theatre- best atmosphere, great acoustics, and I must agree not a bad seat in the house. I find the staff there extremely helpful, kind, and attentive. Just saw Leo KOTTKE there and he was as spectacular as ever - the crowd loved the show and we all felt so lucky to be able to come.
