I was in the mood for something sweet and wanted to check in with The Lunchbox since I hadn't been here in a couple weeks. I knew they had the best desserts in their bake shop so I stopped in on my way to a meeting. Even on an off hour for lunch, this place was still packed but they were so quick with the service and the staff were so friendly and happy to talk with. They even remembered me from the last time I was in and that was so nice. I just ended up getting two of their cookies so I had a snack before my meeting. Both cookies were so good and very soft. I'm not a hard cookie person, and these were the perfect amount of chewy. I can't wait to come back for breakfast or lunch one of these days and get more things off this menu!

Stopped in to try a few bakery items, since I'd heard they were so fresh and good. Man behind the counter was helpful b/c the selections were difficult to make! Chose blueberry (+ something, don't remember) bread pudding and a blueberry lavender scone. Shared these with a friend. Neither of us had had bread pudding before, which is why I chose it. We warmed it up a bit, it was good, especially the blueberry flavor, but we realized we are not bread pudding fans. The scone, which we also warmed up a bit, was really flavorful, soft, delicious. Blueberry flavor definitely there, but couldn't detect the lavender. Frosting was just enough to add a bit of sweetness, but not to overwhelm. So many other choices for the next time! The bakery portion is actually Lola's, and is on-site. Learned that there's another Lunchbox location at the Tri-Main center, and they, too, have bakery items, but not the wide selection available downtown. Hoping that, with the demise of downtown workers, that the Lunchbox survives...

So glad I discovered Lunchbox during my visit to Buffalo and I would go back without hesitation. I found them on Yelp as I was looking for coffee shops and places to work close to my hotel. They were located right around the corner and checked off all my boxes. I arrived to find a bright and honestly rather large space connected to what I read is the Lafayette building. There's a big window looking into the bakery, a cool neon sign, and a beautiful mural painting on the back wall. Oh, and I can't forget the subtle pops of green thanks to the plants placed sporadically throughout the place. It was perfect for propping up and getting some work done. There were outlets placed throughout and the wifi was strong as well. I started with an oat milk latte and eventually ordered a veggie breakfast burrito as well. My latte definitely hit the spot but the breakfast burrito was the star of the show. Scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, arugula, avocado, shredded cheddar, and a sweet (but not too sweet) tomato jam all wrapped up in a large tortilla. It was down right delicious and a nice size portion as well. I ended up taking half of it back to my hotel to snack on. Like I mentioned at the start of this review, I would definitely come back whenever I find myself in Buffalo again.

I'm so happy with their updated space at Lafayette Court! Although it's on the first floor of a mixed use building, it's open to the public. You can dine in or take out. Their lunch menu features a few salads, a few hot sandwiches, and a few cold sandwiches/wraps. I opted for the sun dried salad which was filling and delicious! I also got a lemon ricotta raspberry mini cake which was also divine. Service was fairly quick and I really enjoyed sitting down with a coworker for lunch here! Highly recommend.

I got a regular light roast coffee & breakfast egg+cheedar sandwich on a homemade brioche bun, sat here for a friday morning. Not too much foot traffic during this time. friendly service :) ambiance - perfect for a work / study day. fast free wifi, spacious seating, abundant large tables, clean and wide open space. filled with plants! large windows for great natural light (space further from the window gets a bit dim). variety of baked goods to select from as well. the brioche bun was a tad sweet (like a Hawaiian roll?) and since i didn't get meat added to my sandwich, there was lack of contrast between that bread sweetness and the egg+cheddar. the cheddar was not too salty, though there was a decent amount. the egg was JUICY, perfectly cooked to a gooey texture (this was the default, i didn't ask for it so if you prefer fully cooked make sure to note that!). could tell the bun was very fresh though!

This family run business has opened a new central location along with the addition of Lola's Bake Shop. The food is delicious! The atmosphere is welcoming, cozy, and open. And the staff was a delight. The ingredients are very fresh and the deserts are the perfect amount of sweetness without being "too much". I especially loved the rainbow bars. I can't wait to go back again.

The newly refurbished lunch box and Lola's bakery is very nice. It's a calm, quiet atmosphere - at least when I was there around 10:30 for a coffee break. The menu is similar to the previous lunch box except I don't remember the egg sandwich to be as delicious as it was today. I felt I definitely got value for the cost. The sandwich was warm and fluffy and comforting. I'm happy the lunch box is back in business. The bakery looks very tempting and I nibbled a few of the samples they had out. If you need a sweets fix you've got a load of choices at the bakery.

Just wanted to update the menu photos but the food was amazing. They have a Chicken Milanese absolutely dialed. Staff answered all questions cordially and in a friendly manner. The seating is so spacious and really gives an open feel to the establishment.

I had the chance to check out The Lunch Box and Lola's Bakeshop, located in Lafayette Court, and came away very impressed! I arrived around 9:45am on a Friday and grabbed a parking spot in the paid, premium parking lot across the street, which had plenty of spaces. There is street parking as well but beware you will have to pay until 5pm each weeknight. I walked inside and immediately was struck with the full kitchen and just the sheer vastness of this space. The gentleman working the counter was incredibly courteous and friendly, answering the questions I had about some of the pastries set out. After placing my order, I took my number and grabbed a seat at the bar, which offers an awesome view into their beautiful, full kitchen - It was cool to see bakers in action! The space inside is modern, very spacious, and clean, working together to make for a relaxing dining experience. I was there for a Yelp Elite Week event for an egg and cheese (American, Cheddar, or Provolone) sandwich served between a fresh-baked, house-made brioche bun and a 16oz. coffee (medium, dark, Jamaican roast). I decided on cheddar cheese and went with the Jamaican-roast coffee. The sandwich was soo good! The brioche bun was warm and so soft and the egg was cooked perfectly with plenty of cheddar cheese on top. The Jamaican-roast coffee was a surprise for me - Tons of flavor, a nice level of sweetness with a bit of cinnamon on the end. I would be a very happy guy having a couple cups of that coffee every morning! Along with the sandwich and coffee, I treated myself to one of their sweet scones, Almond/White Chocolate with a bit of Lemon zest, and a cookies & cream cookie. The scone was incredible - Moist on the inside with a crispiness to the exterior, what I want when I eat a scone. I loved the flavors too; the lemon zest came right at the end of each bite. The cookie was on a whole other level! Soft and dense, stuffed with Oreo-style cookie pieces and sweet cream chips with chocolate chips. Lola's Bakeshop has certainly elevated my cookie-eating game! This was a delicious, fresh, and filling breakfast. I thought it was pretty affordable too, especially for how fresh everything was. The Lunch Box and Lola's Bakeshop is awesome! A clean, modern, spacious place to grab breakfast and lunch. Courteous, friendly staff serve up fresh-made food in a timely manner - You can also place your order online and pick-up and go. I know that if I worked in downtown Buffalo, I would not hesitate to go here for breakfast or lunch.

I found myself giving a pitch for The Lunch Box at work today and thought, I should probably put this all down in a Yelp review. I have never eaten on site. This review is for my experience with their catering only. These guys are just a consistent, solid, 5-star operation. I have worked with them plenty over the past few years. I have used their catering for both breakfast and lunch meetings. The food is good and the product is very consistent. The customer service on the phone and at drop off is always very friendly and helpful. They have never once been late, gotten an order wrong, or made any billing errors - 100% satisfaction every time at every step of the process. When I am responsible for coordinating the hospitality for a meeting or event, I want to work with someone I can really trust. The Lunch Box is at the top of my list.

The protein choices are: 4 flavors of chicken, 2 flavors of tri-tip steak, Korean BBQ pork or tofu. The protein is served on purple rice with a side of Cole slaw. For our additional sides( choices were sweet potatoes, rosemary potatoes, Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese. I picked both of the potato sides. The Cole slaw seemed watery, and the steak, which had nice flavor, was a bit chewy. I think tri-tip tends to be tougher as it has little or no fat on it. The potatoes and rice were nice and flavorful. I have had very good bowl meals here in the past. I think the bowls, with more ingredients served together, is a better flavor boost than "the Box".

I usually substitute the tomatoes for picked onions and add potatoes (the potatoes are a new thing I been trying lately bc of the new steakhouse bowl they offer and wanting to try them) Always 10 out of 10 when they don't skimp on the vinaigrette. I miss Cafe 59...and used to overlook the fact that potato wedges aren't included with the sandwiches, the falafel burger is always mushy in the middle, they don't include enough dressing with their salads...and things are sloppily prepared. I overlooked all of that because they use whole foods and the taste was decent. Fast forward to 2025, I've included a photo of a turkey burgundy sandwich with a small bag of Lay's (weird choice, but ok) and a pickle spear, which costs $17.25 before you even add tax or tip. What?? I totally get that costs are rising for everyone including restaurants, but this isn't in line with what you can get at other places, even on the same street. If you can't sell your original menu at reasonable prices anymore, then you need to adjust it. We won't be back.

I tried the Caesar Salad, the fish taste overwhelmed the dish in an unappetizing way. I couldn't taste the parmesan or lemon or any other flavors. The croutons were tough and tasteless. The menu listed orange as an additional ingredient, which sounded interesting, but it was nowhere to be found when the dish arrived. I also got the French Onion Hummus to share, absolutely delicious, we've had it before. Unfortunately a lot of tables were dirty and the floor was covered in pretzels crumbs, some other crumbs as well. Really not conducive to dining. I do hope that these issues are improved upon because as I have said, my previous experiences have been much better!

The restaurant is located just inside the center of the museum, and there was live music in the middle courtyard just outside the restaurant. The ambience was a cool vibe - there is this huge mural on one wall, and the opposite wall is glass from floor to ceiling looking out (to where the live music was). The tables were so simple but had flowers and cool table lamps. I started with a glass of wine, and we split the whipped feta as an appetizer. They also brought some fresh bread with balsamic olive oil. Both fantastic and warmed my soul. I ordered the Filet, and it was so perfectly seasoned and cooked - I mean, can't really go wrong with steak that's drizzled with bacon butter! The others ordered the salmon with squid ink pasta and the scallops. All were so beautifully plated and delicious. And we ended with the Ube Creme Brulee which was a great way to end the night. We ended up being there for about 2 hours. I wouldn't recommend dinner if you just looking for a quick bite. I'd go for more of an experience. Not that the service was slow, but I think the kitchen and wait staff were just thoughtful with their creating, plating, and serving. Hoping that they change their menu up every so often so we can try more creations!
