Lunchhhh

The name really speaks for it's self. With the lack of food within the area this place is really convenient especially in the breakfast/lunch hour. It's also kind of the only place you can get coffee in the morning without leaving the central park area. It's located on the lobby floor as soon as you walk into the building. They have a mixed crowed between the young professionals, artists and students within the building, and some of the general public of course. It's actually pretty chill here they seem to get really busy early morning and noon for lunch. There is free wifi inside and plenty of outlets (if you need to charge your phone for a sec) along the wall of the booths. Plenty of seating space. They even have a few copies of The Challenger so you can read while you wait. They have a bar filled with prepped meals, salads, sandwiches and maybe one of their daily specials or two if you can't wait and need to really grab your food and go. I tried the Jerk Chicken sandwich first it wasn't horrible but it wasn't great. Chicken lunch meat served on panini bread, Gouda cheese, red peppers, and a sweet jerk sauce. The sauce threw me off it was just okay for me but I wasn't ready to write them off yet, maybe I just ordered the wrong thing it happens. I came back and tried the Old Fashioned BLT and it was good, pretty simple, fresh ingredients. The bacon was cooked to perfection... actually maybe I'll add more bacon next time, and hold the lettuce a little. Although the sandwich was under $10 the pricing was high considering the portion But I really have no complaints. I would order this again. The Buffalo Chicken Wrap wasn't my favorite. I'm more of a ranch person anyway in place of blue cheese so maybe I'm being a little bias. But for me there was way too much blue cheese and not enough chicken and hot sauce. At this point I knew I messed up and just should've started off with the salads they look and sound amazing! I love the iced coffee here! It's 3.75 (again pricing, sheesh) and they have all the works on the side so you can customize your coffee to your liking. Creamer, simple syrup, natural sugar cane, honey etc. The staff is super sweet. The food is healthy (and vegan friendly) there is plenty of seating, and it's pretty close to public transportation (Amherst train station, 8 Main bus, and the 23 Fillmore bus). Also the Trimain building has plenty of parking if your driving. I can't stress the location enough it is really nice to have this within the immediate area open as early as it is. I'll be back and will update/upload as I go.

When my office recently moved to Tri-Main, I was excited to have a place to quickly grab lunch in the building in case I didn't have time to pack something. So far I've had the chicken salad wrap and turkey avocado wrap and they're both great. For around $8, they are good size. Staff is always friendly and Ronnie even remembered my name after only the first couple of times I came in. They're always quick too, which I appreciate with limited time in my work day.

Shout out to the Italian flatbread sandwich. They were the hit of my work lunch. Wish I had stolen some to take home for an evening snack.

It was nice and big in there. I like the way that there was room to move. It's not real small like most bars I end up going to. The bartender was OK, it was very, very crowded, so they were low on seats. Like I said, I wasn't there very long. I didn't spend a lot of time there so I don't really know much about the place. I didn't even so much just use the restroom there so I don't know about those. I don't know if they have food or not. I just like the fact that it's spacious.

We ordered the NYC chopped cheese and the Caesar sandwich, and both were packed with great flavor. The rolls were awesome, and the French fries and onion rings were the perfect finishing touch. The staff was very friendly and always nearby (which came in handy when we needed extra napkins, lol). The dining room is on the smaller side, so I can see there being a bit of a wait during the dinner rush. Parking is street parking on a busy strip, but trust me--it's all well worth it.

We had been to their location in Sanborn years ago and loved it. Ordered a Gustavo ,Ybor,Mexican Street corn Mac & cheese and two Alfajores. Everything was great and of the two sandwiches. The Gustavo was too spicy that it overwhelmed the other flavors in the sandwich. The bread was a winner. The Ybor was very good. The MSCM&C was also to spicy and hid the flavors. You place your order at the counter and your order takes about 15 minutes. You can order ahead. The ambiance is plain Jane and very sterile but clean. . The music was way too loud.

The other reviews here pretty much say it all, so my main reason for adding anything is to comment on their use of metal trays instead of plates, a growing custom it seems, and fine by me. But.... We said, when asked, that we were dining in. The 420 Fries came boxed on the parchment lined tray. I'd suggest when the customer is eating in that they save the box and assemble meals that come in a box for take-out directly onto the tray. It would make for a much more attractive dining experience. The fries: small potato wedges. The 420: if poutine and nachos got married and had a baby, they'd name it 420. They were very good. A health-conscious note: menu suggestion for those watching carbs says anything that comes on bread can be served on saffron rice or on power grains, or on a large flour tortilla, or on salad greens. And for the vegetarian folks, garlic-roasted mushrooms can be substituted for meat on any sandwich. Check out their menu at tortugasandwich.com I'll be back. Next up for me-- the Vicuna on salad greens.

It's a decent sized market with all the usual staples. What really sets it apart for me is the upstairs space. I've hosted a couple of events here, and there's always been plenty of room and seating. It's never felt too loud, which is nice. I like that people can use the space however they want. When I go with friends, some order from the cafe, some grab baked goods, others just pick up a quick salad or something simple. It makes it easy for everyone to join in at whatever price point they can. Parking is usually good, though I've run into a couple times when the lot was full. Still, I'm glad they have a parking lot. The store is clean, the staff are friendly, and having that upstairs area takes it up a star for me.

Living in Buffalo several years now, I've never been out to Hertel Ave to grab food and drinks -…read moreSurprising, I know! Thanks to a Yelp Elite event on Hertel Ave., I FINALLY changed that with a fantastic late dinner at The Burning Buffalo Bar & Grill. One of the main reasons I don't like to go out in Buffalo is parking - I'm always anxious about finding a spot that's close to where I'm going, as well as not having to pay for it. It was 7:45pm on a Tuesday, so street parking was free so one obstacle down, and amazingly, I managed to park right in front of The Burning Buffalo Bar & Grill, but across the street - I'll take it! Upon walking inside, there were a few tables outside full of people having dinner and drinks with one waitress managing all of it. I walked in and was surprised how big, spacious it was. First order of business though was hitting the restroom, which was on the small side, but clean. After that, I grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartender was a young, pretty woman who was very personable. Unsure of what to grab for a drink, she asked what beers I usually go for and with that, she was fired off a few beers on draught I might like. I settled on the Jack's Abby Post Shift Pilsner and enjoyed sipping on that the rest of the night. She handed me the food menu and took care of a few other customers while I figured out what I wanted. I got it down to two items and I asked her for her recommendation, which was excellent and how I'd order, if and when I make it back. But similar to what other reviews on Yelp say, the atmosphere was very much like a neighborhood bar and grill, where everyone knows each other and if they don't know you, they're still more than willing to let you hop in and out of the conversation. I felt very comfortable sitting and listening to the "regulars" chat, watching a baseball game on the TVs behind the bar. So for dinner, I decided on ordering their Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich which is topped with lettuce, tomato, sriracha mayo, and cheddar cheese, with pickles underneath between a soft, brioche bun with a side of hand cut fries and a pickle spear on the side. The bartender recommended swapping out the cheddar cheese with pepperjack cheese, an awesome swap! The size of the fried chicken breast was HUGE by itself! I was so impressed how the well the sandwich held together as I devoured it. The chicken was hot, not greasy at all. The lettuce and tomato tasted fresh and looked crisp, there was plenty of that pepperjack cheese on top the chicken and pickles underneath. The sriracha mayo was excellent, albeit I would've liked more of it, I think more would've made the sandwich messy and hard to handle, so it really was the right amount on there. The hand cut fries were great as well; Crispier on the ends and softer in the center but plenty hot and not over seasoned. If you've seen other reviews of mine, you'll get the sense I have a pretty big appetite so I was able to demolish the sandwich but I couldn't finish all my fries, so that should be enough to tell you the portions here are HUGE and AWESOME! At first glance, the prices look expensive but I think they're justified as the quality and portions are phenomenal, I certainly felt I got my money's worth. I'm so happy that after several years of living in Buffalo, I made it over to Hertel Ave. finally! I'm also glad I chose The Burning Buffalo Bar and Grill for dinner. The quality and quantity of food, the friendly neighborhood atmosphere, the personable staff, what more can you ask for? I can't wait to come back and grab another Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich or maybe give their North Buffalo Cheesesteak a try!
