"Americano"

I imagine this is a better bar and evening experience than a place to get a coffee in the morning. The morning light in this lobby is beautiful. And the team is friendly, but this Americano makes me want to reject reality.

Nice building ground floor cafe, good break time spot with plenty of seating area with modern and contemporary designs.

I can't say enough good things about The Luminary Cafe & Bar! Located in an office building in the Lakeshore East neighborhood, it feels like a sweet hidden gem. Once you become aware, you can't visit enough. It feels charming and innocent. A bright moment in the lobby of a high-rise skyscraper. The man that assisted me today was fantastic. I asked if he owned the business because he went over and beyond and was so helpful. He gave me the low-down on catering and happy hour. He offered menus and punch cards to give to the residents in my building. He was very friendly, helpful and proactive. Today I ordered a vanilla lavender oat milk latte. I loved it!! I keep saying I'm going to stop in for happy hour. I haven't yet but I will. They offer $5 wine, $2.00 off beer, $10 cocktails and half price flatbreads. Sounds like a great value!!

While a cute place with decent coffee, my sandwich was inedible. Three if away within seconds of taking a bite. Just awful.

When visiting Chicago last week I was looking for coffee spots within walking distance of Grant Park and I found fairgrounds. I'm so glad I chose to stop in! The indoor seating area is small with one larger table, a single seat & table, and some bar like seats. I was able to snag the single seat with a small round table to myself. It was so cute inside and while I wish there was more indoor seating there was a lots of space to sit outside which I also enjoyed after finishing my food. I got the tahini caramel latte, the staff was very kind in helping me decide on a drink, I made a substitution to have it made with almond milk and it was delicious! So rich in flavor and a great coffee taste without being too sweet. Also you have to get the breakfast burrito with an extra side of salsa. I've never had a breakfast burrito and salsa like the one I ate at Fairgrounds and I'm still dreaming of it! The burrito was piping hot, had so many different bright flavors and the salsa on the side was very bright and fresh. Absolute 10/10

I've also tried the omelettes, eggs, potatoes, vegetables, and iced coffee, and I've enjoyed all of them. The only thing I haven't liked was the veggie sausage patty. I'm pescatarian and was vegetarian for 14 years, so when I heard it was made in-house, I thought it would be really good. Unfortunately, it tasted terrible to me. I sent it back, and they took it off my bill, which I appreciated. Their customer service was great about it. I wouldn't recommend the veggie sausage patty, but everything else I've had has been great. I think just about anyone could find something they'd enjoy here. And there's ample seating inside and outside. Definitely worth a visit!

Our waitress was absolutely lovely and very attentive throughout our meal. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that the overall atmosphere felt a little rushed. There were so many people coming in and out that, once we finished eating, I felt like we needed to leave rather than being able to relax and enjoy the space for a little longer. I don't think this was because of our waitress at all, but more so the busy environment. Other than that, we had a great experience and the food was definitely the highlight!

Puke The bread, what is this a slice of Walmart sourdough? Thin and flavorless and hard as a rock. Then carrots, corn, radish, pickled onions? What the $&@? are you doing?! How hard is it? GOOD sourdough, Avocado, Bacon, poached egg, garnish. Done. Maybe a slice of tomato but never heirloom. When you walk up, there are computer screens and a large menu on the wall. You have to place your order on the computer. Then, you have to walk over to one of two bars that will have your drinks. After that, you can choose your seat you will get a text message when your food is ready and then you walk up to a different area and pick up your food which is on a tray. The food was OK. I had French onion soup, and a salmon bowl. Overall, kind of disappointing because I usually love restaurants at museums. Museum restaurants usually tend to be very good. Maybe it was just my selection. I also found the computer ordering and running around to get my own drinks here and my own food there to be a bit impersonal.
