I ordered two and, while my partner in crime absolutely LOVED his, I wasn't really a fan. The sandwich comes on a baguette and is filled with a slab of coconut curry marinated tofu, pickled veg (like carrots and radishes), spicy vegan mayo, and cilantro. Unfortunately, my bread was pretty burned - as such, that black toast char was the dominating flavor (and smell). It was also the dominating ingredient as the slab of tofu was much smaller than I was expecting. In the end, I tossed the bread and ate just the tofu and veggies (which, again, I wish there had been more of, and much less of the stems of cilantro). Loved the variety of spices that came from the individual components of the jalapenos, the curry, and the spread though! While I was disappointed in the sandwich I got (especially at $11 when compared to sandwiches of similar prices from other food trucks), I still think they're great. The person taking my order was super friendly, the person making the food was engaging, and their passion to use as much fresh, local ingredients as possible is impressive and appreciated. Also the presentation of their food is stunning, and proves that restaurant quality food can come out of a mobile kitchen. While they might not be my first choice, I definitely appreciate what they're creating and the flavor profiles they're exploring!

I got a Pork Belly Bahn Mi and a fry. When I dropped $17 for lunch I THOUGHT that was a lot until they handed me two large boats full of food that I couldn't finish! The sandwich was fresh and juicy. The fries were perfectly crisp and seasoned. I was able to share the fries with 2 other coworkers! It's not often that I walk away from a food truck thinking portion sizes align with both the quality and the pricing, but this one nails it. The menu isn't large, but that's because they choose to perfect what they are slinging, putting quality over quantity. Definitely give this place a try... and split the fries!

They also operate a small lunch/dinner sometimes brunch truck as well. Two locations usually. They have a smaller menu but don't be fooled. Since the menu is smaller they can focus solely on that menu. Focus they do! It's very very good food and a healthy portion of food as well. From the gouda Mac and cheese with fried onions to the absolutely amazing fried chicken sandwich with Maine maple glaze and everything in between... to die for!! They also have the most amazing red potatoes. They fry them up as "smashed spuds" and they're so so good! I go there sometimes just for those ! Inside Mick's there's a bar and you can grab a drink with your food. I can't say it enough, if you haven't already get down there and try this menu. You will not be sorry!! I got the brisket sandwich with a side of beans, coleslaw and corn bread and it was delicious. In my experience corn bread is usually dense but this was light, airy and unbelievably moist. The brisket sandwich was so freakin good ugh...it's so tender that you don't know your biting through meat, it's like biting through bread until you get the meat flavor. It's nice and juicy. It's just amazing The coleslaw was fresh and crisp with the right amount of dressing and the beans were definitely homemade. The loaded Greek fries had a generous portion of feta and gyro meat. The prices were really reasonable. We are thrilled that the truck is operating when so much of Portland is closed for the season. We are already planning a return trip!

I like Americanized Chinese (Mmm crab rangoon) and sushi, but rarely crave foods I can't pronounce. So mami is a little different for me, as I can't properly say anything on the menu. Today the attractive black food truck was parked in front of the breweries on Industrial Way. The menu consisted of 5 items. I selected the kushiyaki, which is a spiced skewer of chicken skin or thigh (I picked thigh). It was delicious and better than similar skewers at Kushiya Benkay. It's also hard to beat the $3.50 price (or $2 for the chicken skin). The onigiri was essentially a scoop of white rice with miso glaze, nuri and eggplant. It was decent flavored rice for $3, though I'd have preferred a fried version. It took 10 minutes to get my order, which was a bit long. Overall though it's solid food and I'd go back. I don't consider myself the target audience, so others would enjoy this even more.
