    classic bird
    Anne S.

Stopped by when the truck was at Root Wild Kombucha; I'd been wanting to try it for awhile. I had the basic chicken sandwich--what they call the classic bird--with their salt pickles and house ranch. I might need to try something with a little more zip next time, because while the nicely-sized piece of chicken and the bun were booth good, they aren't standing out as super memorable either. But there are other options, so I'm up for giving something else a try.

We love this food truck . The owners are so nice and even in sweltering heat they are gracious and serve great food. We got to visit this truck during a YELP event which I am thankful for or I I would probably not found them otherwise. I have been following them to see where I could find them again since then . The chicken is tender and flavorful. The gluten free bun was buttered and grilled and did not even taste gluten free., which is a good thing. It is a substantial price of chicken. Onion rings had great flavor but were a little bit limp.personally like alot of onion. That being said they were still delicious. The dips are excellent we got the fried cauliflower which is always a crowd pleaser without the sauce we could dip it in the great sauces they make. They have a different special chicken sandwich each time which keeps it interesting. One of my favorite food trucks . I love that I can find them all over town .

We both had a great chicken sandwich switching out ranch dressing for lemon Mayo. Light grilled buttered roll with tender tasty chicken with pickles. A true extraordinary sandwich. One we had with french fries & the other with perfectly fried flavored crispy onion rings. W suggest if you haven't stopped here you should add it to your list of truck eats!!! 10*'s given

"PREMIUM SANDWICH." The buffalo chicken sandwich and the regular was amazing. The bun is something to write home about. The side of chicken tenders are some of the best around, all sorts of terps. The ranch is unreal as well. I'd like to say we eat A LOT OF CHICKEN sandwiches, and this is one of the best around. Super nice people working the truck. They were parked in the parking lot of Root Wild. Definitely find them and check it out!

Hot Honey sandwich and Peri Peri wings

I've hit up Black Salt twice now. Both times were delicious. The chicken is tender and juicy and fried nice and crispy on the outside. My favorite so far is the Hot Honey. The perfect balance of sweet and spice! I also really enjoyed the Peri Peri wings they had on special recently. My only recommendation would be to serve them with some kind of ranch or aioli, but they were super flavorful and tasty without any accompaniment!

Super nice people! AMAZING chicken sandwich. Plain bird has homemade ranch (with loads of dill flavor) and pickles on it. The bun is sensational. Chicken is well seasoned and perfectly fried. Packaged nicely so you can eat it without making a gigantic mess. Just a small one! The hot honey bird is fantastic too. Terrible photos because we just wanted to eat. The truck is all over. Worth tracking them down.

I had been to the food truck for a breakfast sandwich which I really likes a couple years ago but somehow it got off my radar. I love wood fired and coal fire pizza and when I walked in it smelled so good. Many gluten free cookies and cake . They offer gluten free pizza crust. They pizza is not available till 4:00 so I went home and called in an order after 4. We got the sausage abs caramelized onion pizza we really liked this it was a little bit greasy but the flavor was perfect. We also got a white pizza with chicken and broccoli which was very good crispy on the top and bottom. We also tried a slice of cheese pan pizza which reminded me of Slab pizza which is an favorite of ours . It was great to find great pizza out in this area of town and not to have to go into the Old Port. We also tried the peanut butter and jelly cookie $3.00 a new favorite. The bakery items are something I will return to try out . Happy to have found this plac

Nice picnic area. Plenty of parking. Lots of items on the menu that looked tasty. Unfortunately,…read morethe three of us had lobster rolls. First, the meat wasn't dressed with mayo. It was some type of an aioli that gave the meat a very funky looking pinkish red color. I could not discern what was in the aioli, it was a fairly non distinct mixture. The lobster meat smelled a bit fishy. This wasn't just my impression, but all three of us commented the same thing. This was not enough for me not to eat it, but clearly, it was a bit unusual. We also tried the roasted Brussel Sprouts, they were decent, with another aioli, that equally had no spice kick, or discernible flavor. All said, kind of meh...I will give it three stars on potential. The menu looked good...I'll give it another try and skip the lobster roll.

You eat family style which isnt my fave but in particular really isnt my fave if youre starving and running on a few 2oz shots of cider as there is no beer, wine, full pours of anything or even water? We sat at the end of the table and when the main entree (chicken) came out it was put in the middle so by the time it got to us we got about 2 bites of gristly thigh- and then the "chef" had the audacity to ask if we were full?! It was pretty clear that there was no edible chicken or pureed vegetables by the time it got down to us so when they cleared plates that didnt have food it should have gone without saying. We had to go home and order a pizza, mainly cause this took so long everything was closed. For the price point you could actually eat food you wanted almost anywhere else in Maine. I didnt feel comfortable complaining as it is generally not necessary in fine dining establishments and would have been rude in such a setting, particularly as we were sat next to a business associate of the chef. Such a disappointment.
