I'm so glad I checked with them first, for not only did they have one in stock at a reasonable price, but they assembled it and installed it on my vehicle for no extra charge. Then provided a quick training class on how to use it. Now that is customer service at its finest! They also have a nice selection of bikes and accessories available in the store, and are conveniently located right across the street from Haggen's on Meridian. Once the traffic circle is complete it will be even easier to visit them.

The Hub is awesome!…read more Since i've been on the lookout for a bike and my roommate used to volunteer here, I decided to come by and check it out. They're a non-profit, local business that buys and sells bikes and parts. You can also bring your bike in for $5 and use all of their tools and get help with fixing your own bike. I know absolutely nothing about bikes; the last one I owned was probably a Mongoose from Walmart when i was 9 years old. I came in here and the guy working was super helpful. He showed me a few different options in my price range and let me test ride them down the trail. I left very happy about my purchase, got a great bike and it was right in my price range. When I got home, my roommate (who's knows entirely too much about bikes!) explained each part to me and told me I got an amazing deal. So they are definitely out there to help you out and not rip you off if you're ignorant, as I was. If you go on their website (http://www.thebikehub.org/) there is a nice list of some of their bikes with the price so you can get an idea before you go.

My…read moreson was on his way to an important biking event and had broken his spur gear (on a Transition PBJ dirt jumper) so it was a somewhat rare piece. We called or went to 5 other bike shops, including Transition, with no luck. We went to Jack's and they had the part AND installed it for us while we waited. They went above and beyond! I was having some trouble with gear shifting on my Raleigh hybrid bike. If I shifted into the…read morelowest gear, the chain came off the derailleur. Other gears were sluggish to engage. I thought I would have to leave my bike at a repair shop for some length of time, which was inconvenient because I was only in town for a couple of days. I called Jack's and they said to bring the bike in and they thought they would have time to fix in within my schedule. I brought it in and a very nice bike technician mounted my bike and tried to diagnose the problem. Within about 15 minutes he had fixed the problem entirely! I took a test ride and it was working perfectly. This was a great time saver for me. He only charged me $25 bucks, which I thought was more than reasonable, since I was expecting it to need a complete overhaul. Jack's is a well-staffed and efficient bike repair center (in addition to selling bikes and accessories). I counted at least four technicians hard at work serving customers. I would highly recommend Jacks!!!

I went to Alleycat where they wrestled my seat post out (it was a bit stuck) and found that they did not have the right size. The mechanic (sorry I didn't get your name!) suggested going to Earl's as they carried my model bike and they weren't too far away. I asked what I owed for the labor and he said "you're good." I rode my bike standing in the pedals up Meridian to Earl's and got it fixed. A potential lost ride was restored and I got to continue on to Vancouver the next day.

I could not get the shifting dialed in. I finally took it to fairhaven. They replaced cables, monkeyed with it for a whole day to try to get it dialed in. They realized that the old and the new were not compatible. So replaced my derailleur with another dura ace derailleur. Works perfectly. And the whole bill was $104.00. I was expecting that for just the cables and monkeying with it. Thanks Fairhaven!!!
