Not sure what took us to long to try this place but we were pleasantly surprised. Didn't realize it was counter service, but service was quick! My husband went with the Asian chicken wrap which he said was good but nothing special. He did upgrade to the side of creamy French onion which we both loved. Great creative twist on a classic! My kids had the kids pizza and chicken fingers which were the perfect portion and I felt a reasonable price. We also tried the chips with blue cheese app which was delicious- my husband put some Texas Pete on it too- highly recommend! While the inside has plenty of seating I will say I think it could do with a little fixing up. Lots of spots/dings on the walls and some messed up chairs. That won't keep us away though! If you're in Winston you can't go wrong with the loop, all the food is so fresh and delicious! It has a cool deli/cafe atmosphere, they don't have table service so if you're looking for a fresh quick lunch with no rush, check them out! We arrived about 2:30pm on Sunday afternoon. They do have a nice patio area which would offer a great opportunity in nicer weather. However, upon looking closer, it needed a good general cleaning. We proceeded inside and again, the dingy theme continued. It seemed a bit strange there were menus on a side table as you made your way to the counter to order. We looked over the menu and liked they had quite a few pizza and salad options. We proceeded to the counter to order. The young man who took our order was helpful but appeared not to be incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. We also noted there were quite a few employees gathered around the kitchen area who appeared to only be talking and not doing anything else. We counted at least nine employees and it was not very busy. No one was stocking supplies, cleaning tables, organizing, preparing orders, nothing. Both my wife and I wondered how the business was making any money. This continued throughout our entire time here. We paid when we ordered and the machine asked for a tip. I looked at my wife and wondered. We are ordering at the counter, filling our own drink, picking up our order and clearing our own table. What am I tipping for? My wife ordered a Sunflower Kale salad with salmon and I ordered 12 inch Meat Market pizza with extra sauce because I wanted some leftovers. We were given a pager and told we could choose a table. There was a variety of tables and booths available, most were empty and several were still dirty with crumbs, etc. Our pager went off a short while later and we picked up our order at the counter. Our food looked delicious. We brought it to our table and proceeded to dig in. I thought the pizza was good but if this was extra sauce, the regular pizza must not have any. I still enjoyed the pizza. My wife enjoyed her salad and would get it again. However, she said she would get it to go, since we weren't impressed with the in person experience. This really could have been a lot better with improvements. When we are in the area again we will likely go somewhere else. We hope they can make the necessary improvements in order to succeed. We tried The Loop for the first time! My husband got the Cajun chicken sandwich. The chicken was a little dry and could've used more seasoning, but the honey mustard was a nice touch. His Caesar salad was very classic, nothing fancy, but I was impressed with the size for just being a side salad. I went with the 8-inch special pizza. Portion size was perfect for one person, a little on the greasy side, and the sausage was a bit odd. Honestly gave me late-night-after-drinks pizza vibes - not necessarily bad, just the type of craving food you'd demolish after going out. Went to The Loop this afternoon for lunch. The restaurant looks nice and I love that there is outside seating. The service was good and we didn't have to wait on our food terribly long. We ordered pizzas and they were really very tasty. My daughter ordered the kids macaroni and cheese and I was a bit disappointed to see it was Kraft. Wish it would mention that on the menu, as I am not a fan. Would have expected a house made version. I had the FETA MEDITERRANEAN (VG) artichokes, greek olives, red onions, grape tomatoes, croutons & balsamic vinaigrette. It's a really good salad BUT I only had two small artichokes and just a few olives, so I would have enjoyed it more if I had more of those and a lot less onions. Tried their ranch and bleu cheese on the side and they are both great! The sanitation grade is 96.5, I'd really love to see that grade come up some. Overall, I would go back. I want to start off by saying I have been a long-standing fan of the Loop restaurant for over 15 years! I decided to go there tonight after placing what I thought would be a very simple order.. one order of fries. It was packed in the restaurant today with a large family in front of me placing their order . Even though I had been standing in line for over 10 mins; this wasn't a problem for me as it was prime dinner time. This yt man entered the restaurant, looked at the line and decided he didn't have to wait to be served, walked up to the front counter and the manager Jessica started talking to him. This same manager seen myself waiting behind the family, but didn't acknowledge me.. Mind you I placed my order through post mates and had already paid,I was just waiting patiently in the line to pick my food up. Once I seen her interacting with him, I stepped up and asked if she was getting ready to help him and let her know that I was also waiting. She answered me with a curt no. A few minutes later, she brought his food to him and proceeded to allow him to pay for his food. No wait, just special treatment... Once the other cashier finished with the large family, I stepped up and asked to speak to the manager. Come to find out that lady that waited on the yt man was the manager!. I said to her" oh you're the manager? You took that man's order and I was standing in line before him". She then says to me, "I didn't take his order, he had already paid and he comes in here all the time. What am I supposed to do? Let his food sit in my face!" I then said "ma'am I had been waiting behind the large family well BEFORE he came up and you decided to help him first. It looks like you just didn't want to help me". Her response was "you going to have a hard time proving that!!! I then asked for the general manager contact information and she rolled her eyes and said its the loop.... She then went to the kitchen and talked to the cook who handed her my fries. Her attitude suddenly changed when she approached me with my order.. all of a sudden she became apologetic, offering me a meal on my next visit. I guess she seen the timestamp and realized that I had indeed placed my order prior and was waiting in line for service. This interaction has done it for me. I won't be going back there again. They have employees who clearly feel comfortable with being rude and nasty to customers. Money is green doesn't matter where its coming from. To Jessica..do better! You are a manager which means you are representing The Loops brand.. Allowing entitlement and privilege from a "familiar" customer is never okay. The amount of vitriol towards me was totally uncalled for and leads me to the conclusion that she has done this before to others.... very horrible customer service with a manager that is both LOUD and WRONG!! read more

The menu is easy to choose from with plenty of options for your palate. I like that they also have outside seating available with plenty of space overlooking the shopping center it's located in. I came here for lunch with my coworkers. We always try to arrive by 11:45 to beat the lunchtime rush/crowd. It was just starting to get busy but we ordered quickly and found a table for our group. Service was fast and friendly, the restaurant itself was pretty standard, clean, good condiments/drinks options. I ordered the 8" spicy cilantro chicken pizza. Everyone else mostly got wraps or sandwiches. Our food came out pretty quick- less than 10min. We all enjoyed our dishes, I saved half of my pizza for leftovers. Lots of flavor and ingredients packed onto each slice. Solid spot for a quick lunch with lots of standard salad/sandwich/pizza offerings. It's tucked away in the thruway shopping center, so maybe a little difficult to find/park especially if you don't know where you're looking to go specifically. All in all, I would go back! read more

The pizza, the burgers, the milkshakes, the steak fries... my goodness, I can't control myself... my mouth is watering as I'm typing this. From the moment you walk in, you'll feel as though the fries are flirting with you. Golden, crispy, whispering "dip me, you coward." And you do. You give in. Oh, how you give in. The fries aren't even the best part. The milkshakes and pizza are easily my favorite. When I sip from the serum of a Cookies & Cream milkshake, I feel as though I were Romulus as a boy, nursing from the teat of a she-wolf. I only wish I lived closer to Winston-Salem so I could eat here more often. You see, when I was a young lad there was once a "The Loop" in my hometown of Cary, but alas, the cold hands of fate snatched her from my grasp many years ago. God giveth and God taketh away. Nowadays, I only get to feel the warm embrace of "The Loop" maybe once or twice a year, if that. It truly is sad. When "The Loop" in Cary closed down I truly did understand Job. When God tested him, he lost his flocks, his wealth, his comfort. I lost The Loop. And like Job, I sat among the ashes of my former glory. For now I must be momentarily placated with lesser restaurants until I have the means to move closer to Winston-Salem or make the drive more often. Sometimes God takes what you love, or moves it a few towns over, to show how important that thing was. First time at the Loop, and I have to say it was a pleasant experience. I would go again! The place was clean. It's counter service, but they did bring our order to our table when our beeper went off. Our order didn't take too long, and it was accurate. $40 for our food not counting my free entree felt a tad steep but par for most restaurants equivalent to this. The staff we encountered were nice, and the menu is rather large with lots to try. The burger I had was solid. Cooked properly and seasoned. Not the best I've ever had but certainly nothing to complain about, and the chips were very good. My daughter got the chicken Alfredo, which was middle of the road. Nothing special. The pizza was nice, albeit small. My little one enjoyed her Kraft. They have a fountain station to serve your own drinks and an area to get your own sauces, silverware, etc. Overall, I would recommend this place as a spot to try for its varied menu as a place for the family to come and grab a bite to eat. It can get a bit loud in there when it's crowded though. They do have outdoor patio seating on a nice day, and it's tucked away in a less busy portion of the strip mall. read more

This is one of our go-to spots for family outings because it is kid-friendly, they serve a variety food-wise, and it's usually served pretty quickly. Their burgers, salads, pizzas and milkshakes are tasty. I like the addition of "Pinsa" Pizzas to the menu. According to the restaurant, "Delicious Pinsa has a cloud-like, oval-shaped crust that's crunchy on the outside, but soft inside. Pinsa Pizza has half the calories of traditional pizza and contains no additives, preservatives, saturated fats, cholesterol, salt or sugar. It's made with a special blend of non-GMO flours (organic soy, rice and wheat) from Italy. Topped with favorite pizza toppings, it's a healthy and delicious alternative to traditional pizza." I have had both The Little Pigs, which has sausage, prosciutto and pepperoni, and Isabella's White, which has goat cheese, fontina and mozzarella and is topped with seasoned arugula. Other personal favorites include the Asian Chicken Salad, Walnut Gorgonzola Salad, and Fennel Sausage and Goat Cheese Pizza. Employee Larry Crosby is the shining star of this establishment, he has a smile that lights up the room and is always friendly, helpful, and makes everyone feel welcome. He has even been featured on the local news "Roy's Folks" segment and had his portrait painted for a local "Faces of Winston-Salem" project during the pandemic. The protocol for this establishment is that you place your order at the counter and receive a coaster pager. Soft drinks, napkins, utensils and seating are serve-yourself. My husband ordered the chicken Caesar wrap and the tomato bisque soup. The soup was very good and he said the wrap was good, but that it is also hard to mess up a simple wrap like that. I ordered the pinsas 7" x 8" with bacon, chicken, and grilled onions. I felt that it was a bit dry and could use some more sauce. You pay 99 cents for each topping you choose and I thought they barely put any bacon on mine. I thought the grilled onions were going to be a sweet onion and not a red onion. I moved here from Louisiana (the best food in the US) 4 years ago and this place is a regular in our household. I have tried almost everything on the menu and it's all incredible -- tomato soup = best in WS. House Chips, wraps, pinsas... even their STEAK FRIES (which I never eat) are great. We're happy to eat onsite (super quick and helpful workers), pickup, and delivery and quality is always there. The 8 inch pizza was very small and thin crust so just FYI - if you plan on sharing with someone, you should definitely order the larger pizza. All in all, I really enjoyed what I got from the Loop! I ordered a portobello melt which is a sandwich as well as a soup and a cookie. I was the only person in the store and a different woman came out to ask me if I ordered a pizza. When I said no she said the other girl charged me for a mushroom pizza so she took my card back and fixed it. It took 25 minutes for me to get my food, and when I asked the woman if everything (the soup, sandwich and cookie) were in the bag, she said yes. I got home (10 minutes away) opened up my bag and there was no cookie and my sandwich was disgusting. There was no grilled onions nor garlic aioli which there was supposed to be and it was ice cold.
