We moved into Minneapolis 6 months ago. The food the 1st time was great but the service was average. We have been back 6 times and were more disappointed each time. The managers stand around and do nothing, they do not even notice if you need a menu. We were just there to watch the Wild game, it is not very busy and we stood for 10 minutes at the bar with no one acknowledging us! So, onto a place that wants to take our money and provide good food and service! You better make some big changes before we come back. Disappointed neighbor! read more

We went here for an event with a large group and the service was a bit slow only because they gave us 1 server for 33 people. The server was very nice and helpful and did her best. The food was very disappointing though. Nobody loved what they ordered and the 2 things I tried were both very blan, dry and just not good.I didn't even eat my food because it was so dry and gross. I ordered the falafel and then tried a friend's fish tacos which were very bla and just not good. The website is very deceiving because it says they cater large groups but the owner will tell you the complete opposite. The place is very tiny and is not good for large groups. It seems to be a "local" hotspot more than anything else. I liked the staff minus the owner because he was kind of rude in his response to me and not really helpful. The event planner was very helpful and nice but they need to get on the same page. I wouldn't go back there ever again to eat or maybe even drink. There are plenty of other places in the area that are way better. They did give us free dessert and balloons for the event which was very nice but with the food being so bad I just have no interest in going back anytime soon. read more

Food is good, but service is absolutely horrible. They always act put out whenever we ask them to change the channel. Mind you, this is a sports bar aka they have a million tvs. Every weekend we come and it takes a solid 20-30 minutes to get any TV changed for football. Only the manager can change it and he's too busy doing who knows what considering the bar is empty. It doesn't seem to matter that our group spends hundreds of dollars every weekend. We will be watching football elsewhere. read more

I was very impressed with the music and atmosphere at the Loop. However, the bartenders and service was horrible. One of the bartenders, actually visibly threw our drinks out in front of us. I would recommend the bar for dancing, but maybe not for a drink alone. read more

Mediocre, at best. I like the space and the clientele is pretty but you have to like guys in blazers and/or Ed Hardy sparklies or women with piercing voices. Happy hours are decent: prices are ok, food is ok. Avoid this establishment on Friday and Saturday nights bc on those nights, this place is as lame as any in Uptown. read more

The Loop is the place for when you don't want to put in the extra effort to getting "glam ready" and you want rock a pair of jeans with stilletos given that most of the "ladies" there are rocking ill-fitted tight dresses up to their "see you next tuesdays" with flip flops. I really like the crab fondue appetizer and the pizzas here. Service is good and it's close to my loft in the North Loop.

The food is good, the service is slow. One time the power went out completely and we had to eat with flimsy plastic forks and in the dark and got out of there in TWO hours for lunch, and also smelled horribly like smoke from the flow from the kitchen. Our server gave us $2 off when we asked because of the inconvenience. Train them better and the flock will come. read more

Since my last review, I've been back about 5 times because the food is pretty good. However, today I went for a quick, late lunch. It was very quiet, just a few groups at tables and 3 people at the bar. The sign said "Seat Yourself," so I sat at a table near the bar, behind a person sitting at the bar. The bartender saw me walk in, we exchanged eye contact. I walked in at 3:50, by 3:57, I left. No one acknowledged my presence, gave me water, handed me a menu, nothing. Are customers supposed to cook their own food there?! Simply ridiculous. read more

We walked into the Loop and expected a pretty average sports-bary experience. What we were surprised by was the amount of vegetarian options on the menu, (and what we tried was great!) and also the service. Low-key but attentive and pleasant. Made all the better by two women who came in to claim their coats from the night before and turn in a set of keys that had inexplicably appeared in their pocket. Great, and we'll be back. read more

I love that they gave our hotel menus saying that they delivered until midnight. Too bad that we called at 10:30 and got a machine. We left all of our info and our order. After not hearing back for an hour, we called again and were told they don't do delivery after 11. The menu looks great. But beware of any advertising as they obviously over promise and under deliver. Two stars because I at least got a "sorry, man" on the phone the second time. read more

My friends and I went here for an open bar event and one of the bartenders had one of my friends removed from the establishment simply for asking a question about the amount of shots he would be able to get at one time. I then ordered two drinks which a friend and I both saw the bartender spit in and then were served those drinks. We then confronted the bartender about said drinks and she nonchalantly shrugged it off. The bartenders name was "Laura" (I put that in quotes because that is the name that I got from the waitstaff, I'm not convinced that's her name) I am currently seeking legal counsel to press charges for unlawful/malicious tampering with food. Not a bad place at all but the staff at this bar makes it a less than 1 star location. read more

I went here for the first time yesterday during their lunch hour with a couple friends.. My food turned out great (smoked chicken sandwich with avocado) but everyone else at the table did not enjoy their food. The server was inattentive and I had to flag her down for more water multiple times. We also heard her mocking a question we had asked her back in the kitchen, she didn't think we heard her. BEYOND rude. They were not busy, and she did not check to see how our food tasted or if we needed anything. She didn't tell us her name, a blonde girl with a pony tail. Very disappointed. read more

We went to The Loop for the first time on Saturday about 4pm after the Tommie Johnnie game at Target Field. We expected it to be busy, but we had no idea how much busier it was going to get. You see, amongst those in the know, The Loop is a big University of Iowa hangout, so as the game neared, the Hawkeye fans started piling in. No big deal, it was very loud, but we were just there to eat as quickly as possible and get out. We lucked out and found a table right away because someone was leaving. There was no host, nor was there any indication if we were to seat ourselves, so we were a bit confused, but a waitress showed up quickly and confirmed we were okay to sit there. One of us ordered a drink and it took longer than expected to arrive, but again, they were busy. We eventually got the drink and then ordered food. Two of our orders came out in good time, but the third came out at least 5 minutes after the first two. The food was okay. I had the chicken lettuce wraps and thought they were quite good. My daughter had a chicken sandwich, just okay, and my husband had the tuna noodle bowl and said the tuna was overdone even though he had just asked for it to be seared on both sides. About halfway through our meal, the Hawkeyes were standing everywhere. It was clear there were several people eyeing our booth for our eventual departure. Soon, a nice young man approached our table and asked if he could stand near us to grab the booth once we were done. "Sure" my husband said and chatted with him a bit. He and his 4 companions politely waited nearby as we finished our meal. We then waited, and waited, and waited for our waitress to return so we could get our check. She finally came back and we requested the check. My husband went to the bathroom and I pulled out my cc thinking we would be paid by the time he got back. Not a chance. No bill arrived. Husband came back. Put away card as tired of holding it. No bill. More Hawkeye fans. By now, a restaurant employee has stationed herself by the door, but it is unclear her position as she does not appear to be acting as a hostess. Then,a middle aged Hawkeye fan (MAHF) approaches husband. Tells him he doesn't mean to rush us but basically could we leave because he wants our table. My husband explains that we want to leave but are waiting for our check and also another group asked for table first. By now, other group has approached MAHF and are calmly explaining that they have been waiting quite a while for a table. MAHF does not take this well and things start to escalate. He claims to have been promised this table by pseudo hostess, who is now mouthing "I'm sorry" to my husband. We tell scared looking pseudo hostess that we asked for our check 20 minutes ago and she stands on tippy toe to look for our waitress saying "she is hard to see because she is so short." I guess she couldn't see her and could think of no other way to find her because she then turned her back on the whole situation. Meanwhile, MAHF is leaning on our table yelling at younger fan. My husband was just about to push his way out of the booth to track down waitress when she appeared with our check. Not wanting to delay any longer by having her run our cc, we managed to put together enough cash for our bill. Group of 5 has agreed to back down, and MAHF is in the booth almost before my daughter could get out. As we passed the group of 5 outside the restaurant (they had left The Loop altogether) they apologized, but we don't think they needed to at all. They handled themselves very maturely . Now I realize the restaurant is not responsible for the inappropriate behavior of MAHF, but I do think they should be better prepared for Iowa Hawkeye events. This was clearly arranged with the restaurant ahead of time as the alumni association had a table set up and were selling t-shirts. They did not have enough staff on hand and maybe they do need to actually have a hostess and a waiting list for tables if they are going to allow gatherings of this type. As it is, I recommend that unless you are a Hawkeye fan, and maybe even if you are, you avoid The Loop on days when the University of Iowa Plays. read more
