Chaska Town Course

Chaska Town Course

I've been playing Chaska Town Course since it opened in the late 1990s (I play there about 4 times…read moreper year, on average). And I'm still not tired of this course -- at all. It's the best public course in the West Metro by a good margin. I think it competes well with Legends Golf Club in Prior Lake and Rush Creek in Maple Grove -- but both those two courses are ~ 50% more expensive than Chaska Town Course. Town Course has an excellent practice facility. The course itself is challenging and interesting. You have two fun driveable par 4's, a decent amount of water hazards, and a lot of natural beauty. Now that I think about it, nearly every hole is interesting. You have some great par 5's that really tempt you to get home in two shots, but they are well-protected by trees and water. The course is always kept in immaculate condition. They also do a good job enforcing pace of play -- I don't recall a round ever dragging on longer than 4.5 hours. The food in the clubhouse is good, too. Great patio overlooking the stunning 18th hole. They have a Weekday Special Rate for teeing off before 11 am on Mon - Thursday.

Great atmosphere, check-in was easy, they had live music on the patio, and overall was a fun course and experience. Greens seemed really small but they were in really good condition, and not terribly priced. Playing on a Sunday evening at 6:30 was beautiful with the sunset. Especially loved the par 3's - they were challenging, different lengths, and had great looks!

Golf Zone - I will come back to this mini golf effort

Golf Zone

If you're looking for a spot where little kids can feel like PGA champs (with a lot of parental…read moreassist), this indoor mini golf course is a gem. The vibe is part Northwoods cabin, part whimsical putt-putt wonderland--with twinkle lights overhead, fake pine trees, and just enough obstacles to keep it interesting without causing a tiny human meltdown. The highlight? Watching my kiddo in his sunhat take his "pro swing" with a bright orange putter--while Dad provided a hands-on golf lesson that was equal parts adorable and chaotic. (Note: teaching patience on a par-2 hole is an Olympic-level parenting event.) Course is clean, staff was friendly, and the layout made it easy to play without constantly bumping into other families. Bonus points for the fact that it's indoors--so Minnesota weather can't ruin your plans. Would I recommend? Absolutely. Whether you're chasing hole-in-ones or just trying to get a kid to hit the ball in the general direction of the cup, it's a win for all ages. I'll be back for the driving range later. Try them out!

The atmosphere is calm and quiet, which makes it easy to enjoy without feeling rushed or crowded. The driving range is a great deal in the summer for $18 for an hour--well worth it for the quality of the facility and the overall experience. We've also tried the mini golf, which is super easy and casual, but still a lot of fun (and super affordable too). Whether you're looking to get some practice in or just hang out with friends, Golf Zone is a solid choice.

I tried to find a place that didn't have a 3800rpm backspin tee shot and yes, Taylor Made fit me with an estimated 2100 rpm spin rate. I decided to give them a try again because I had free sim hours from my tournament play. I have excellent news. I brought in my prgr doppler radar device to check distance and ball speed. The prgr device has been verified to be +-1 mph clubhead and ball speed to a Trackman and to my surprise it was spot on for most of our players. See pics. The upgraded screens and software has closed the gap between ficticious and real golf. We plan on coming back for the multiple screen simSurround. We may have found our new place!

As the most recent review is from 2019, I thought I'd weigh in…read more I've been visiting Inside Edge for several years (less so during the pandemic), trying to improve driver speed. A buddy and me visited several times last December, reserving the closed "Curved Bay" room to limit exposure, but no one is using masks anymore. They have 3 types of bays: 7 standard bays, one with a curved screen in a bigger room, and one wrap-around screen in a separate room. Frankly, I've found that the standard bays are just fine, and are a bit less expensive. The driving range simulation provides a number of stats and allows you to compare and average stats for shots for any club. Of course, the measurements don't seem to always match outdoor reality, but they seem consistent relative to each other. Compared to my portable Garmin monitor, it seems a bit more accurate. You use their balls, which are marked to allow the camera to immediately assess spin. However, there is no replay to visually show you how your clubface actually hit the ball. There are a number of courses you can play from throughout the world, but there are many famous ones that aren't available. Even so, there are enough that I've probably only played 20% of those available. They recently installed a software update that added more courses. The biggest problem I have with indoor simulators centers around depth perception on shorter shots; "feel" doesn't cut it, so you have to learn how far to hit or putt based on distance to the pin. Also, it doesn't appear that this simulator actually reflect a difference hitting from trap or deep rough. Sam manages the facility most weekday mornings, which is when I tend to play as there is an appreciable discount for seniors playing before noon. Sam does a good job in getting everything set up (and then fixing something after I've screwed up by fiddling with the interface). They offer a selection of sports drinks, water and beer, as well as some microwaveable snacks I believe.

The water play area is perfect for little ones -- warm, safe, and sized just right. The staff has always been friendly, and the atmosphere feels welcoming for families with young kids who are still getting comfortable in the water. The only thing holding this back from a five-star experience is the family area bathrooms. They aren't dirty, but they definitely need more frequent cleaning and restocking during busy toddler swim hours. With so many young families coming through, a little more attention there would make a big difference in comfort and overall impression. Still a solid place to bring the little ones for a fun swim -- just hoping the bathroom upkeep improves to match the rest of the experience. Price is okay for someone that only comes occasionally - but it's a good resource to have if you're local - Try them out!

You have to try this!…read more At the recommendation of my wife who was constantly hearing me complain about being sore, I tried StretchLab. I decided to give stretching a true evaluation. I didn't stop at the free introductory session, I was going to give it a month and see what happened. I have now been going to see Bess twice a week for a two months, my body feels years younger and most of the chronic pain and soreness I was dealing with is now gone. At 50+ years old I can be quite a skeptic at times. I've been to chiropractor's and massage therapists to alleviate pain in my lower back and shoulder but it was only temporary relief. I had no clue that the answer to feeling better long term was stretching and the pain point isn't necessarily where the problem is located. At Stretch lab not only do they assist with me with stretching but they are also teaching me how to do quite a bit on my own. I can once again move and bend in ways that I have not been able to in quite a while and I'm still seeing improvement every week. I really recommend going to see them and giving this a try, it's money well spent.
