For the Irish pub, the food was great! I didn't have high expectations, but this place surprised me. The crispy chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries were delicious! The service was friendly, fast, and professional. The ambiance was just as you'd expect from an Irish pub, and the prices were as you would expect for this area.

I've had one of those days I'd like to put behind me and I'm glad I found The Long Room. First, a nail in a rental car tire kicked off my day, so meeting friends all had to be canceled and then it was non stop traffic and endless sea of people, and only to end the day with getting caught in a tropical thunderstorm in the middle of Big Apple, nevermind that I came prepared with raincoat or umbrella, still got wet AF. So after the day I had, an Irish pub to numb everything was the cure all. And to top it off, two of the bartenders had Irish accents so this place is legit. I used a voucher I had for a complimentary beer (Brooklyn Lager and Bud Light are the only choices - bite me), so got started with a beer and now working on an Angry Monk and that is fantastic. Mezcal (my favorite), elderflower, sage and lemon are great companions. I love the long bar with wooden stools. Years ago, I would have turned my nose up to this place as the location would not have been one I would have ventured to, but now 8 years later, my entire perspective on life has changed. I like the long empty bar and love the pop 100 they are playing. My spirit has been lifted and I'm on the bend...thanks to The Long Room for getting me out of a funk. Minus one star for the impossible parking in the area, but who da fuq drives to Time Square haha? I'm operating like an amateur and I'm definitely a NYC hustler for life! Been gone a little too long...

Egg, Mac and cheese, salad and Hot Honey Sausage Flatbread

Met a friend after work for some appetizers and yapping. Cute Irish bar, sports playing, friendly staff, good food. We sat at the bar and ordered the scotch egg, mac and cheese, hot honey sausage flat bread, and Caesar salad (we ended up getting a side salad instead bc the bartender misunderstood). The food was decent. My fav was the hot honey flatbread. The rest of the food was mediocre. I'm vvvvvv picky when it comes to mac & cheese tho! This place is in a busy part of town, gotta dodge 1,000 tourists to get here, but overall is was a decent experience. Great ambiance and cozy atmosphere inside. Wasn't packed around 10pm on a Wednesday night. They also have a decent food/drink menu. I appreciated the seasonal cocktails even though I didn't drink!

The Long Room is dimly lit and cozy like all of the bars I went to in Ireland. It's located immediately next door to the Aura Hotel and across from the Belasco Theater. They offer Broadway themed to drink specials, like the Once Upon a Mattress vodka cocktail I ordered. The cauliflower hummus ($15) was peppery, served with warm naan and crunchy raw veggies. It was a large portion and there was plenty to share. I ordered the Turmeric Roasted Cauliflower salad ($17) and added sticky tofu ($7). The salad - lots of quinoa, avocado, and arugula - was really big, mostly very tasty though the cauliflower was underwhelming. My husband got the black bean burger and fries and enjoyed it. We did do a reservation here as we needed to make a show on time. Service was speedy until we were done eating, then we had to flag someone down for the check. Overall a pleasant experience.

After a show (late afternoon hrs), we were looking for a place to eat... without reservation we couldn't get to the restaurants we wanted and somehow we ended up by the Long Room-Scottish restaurant/bar; checked their menu outside- looked like a lot of varieties of different dishes in it... and decided to let it try. Without reservation, during Holiday season in full bloom, we were placed to the waiting list, went inside to the bar and in a 15 min got a table (it was around 5.45-6pm). We were seated at the back room-spacious and cozy, with comfortable tables, despite there are tall (bar tables), but spacious and with comfortable chairs. You could seat hours in them... We ordered Farmer's Market salad-it was very tasty -arugula with combination of pumpkin, quinoa and more ingredients -generous portion-enough for 2! I ordered Scottish Salmon-what a delight! Salmon cooked with precision-not raw, not dry-excellent, with exotic garnishing and roasted potatoes on the side- I think, I never had such a delicious potato ever! Big portion as well! Not being big fan of potatoes- I can't help but finished it all. Plus we ordered to share Sweet Potato fries-OMG! Excellent! The only confusing thing for me was with the vine order-our waiter asked us about size of the glass... and we ordered what she suggested-9onz glass-and because of that -we were paying more for vine- we didn't pay attention, that there were a couple of options for the glass size in the vine menu... But totally -excellent! Great food, generous portions, cozy ambiance- would definitely be back - after, or before the show... Tips: 1. Better to have a reservation 2. Check vine menu and size of glass price for vine before ordering 3. Ask for the seats at the back room. Friendly stuff!

Spent a couple hours here at the bar. They do a great pint of Guinness and cocktails were also superb. It's a classic Irish bar. We did have spinach and artichoke dip which was great as well. $17 for a cocktail.

Let me first say, this place looked GORGEOUS for the holidays! But, other than the aesthetics, it wasn't the best visit. We sat down and were greeted promptly. But, after placing our orders we waited about 35 mins for our food to arrive. The restaurant didn't seem to be all that busy. Servers didn't really check in or we would have asked what the delay was. When the food did come it just wasn't all that good. The Burger was super dry, it's bun toasted but not terribly warm. For a burger infused with Frank's Red Hot, it lacked flavor. The flatbread was nothing to write home about either. The sauce didn't taste like it was made in-house. The price vs. quality of it all was just off. Disappointed overall.

Holiday decor.

I had a TERRIBLE experience at the Long Room, even though it was on my NYC dining bucket list. A friend was visiting from out of town who is a whiskey lover. Our server, Kwayesi was great. But the bar back working that evening was horrendous. Most notably, as our server explained the menu to us, the bar back SCREAMED across the loud restaurant to tell him something and waved him down to leave us. I've never experienced something like that before. Then, at the end of the night, that same bar back was arguing for my guest to pay his bill before the bar was even closed. We also didn't know our server had left. The barback came up to us with a nasty disposition and didn't help us when one of his staff members (assuming it was him) moved my guest's scarf that was hanging on the stair railing. He said "no there was no scarf" with a deadpan look. He had no decorum nor did he try to help us. I walked to the front of the restaurant to see it was balled up on the bar. He needs to be retrained or let go. The whiskey was ok and the holiday decor was cute. That's it. I wish I read the other reviews about this location's terrible service before spending time and money there. I've included a picture of the rude barback.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm in the mood for a refined, slightly cinematic night out in Flatiron.
