They were able to accommodate us and seat her immediately. It was very clean and decorated beautifully for the Christmas holiday. I went to Tig for take down service of the hairstyle in the picture. This is the second time I've come here for take down service and been satisfied. As an African American woman who loves her protective styling, I loathe the take down process. Each time I've come here I've called the day of and been able to obtain same day services. I didn't have to schedule a month out like some places. I wasn't overcharged for length or size of braids. I wasn't overcharged for a wash and blow dry. I admit I was skeptical going to anyone [non-black] but I'm so glad I took a chance and you should too. They were gentle with my hair and used heat protection. Oh my take down included a shampoo, condition, blow dry, and flat iron. I opted to forego the flat iron because I wear it in its natural fluffiness. I thought they were kind and communicated what I wanted the entire time. I was in and out within 2.5 hours I think. Each time I've gone, it's only been max 4 people and that includes the stylists, which is nice. Some places are fast but packed and the customer service takes a back seat. I was impressed that when making the appointment they were able to recommend a stylist with a good background in color. Sabrina was very sweet, she did a great job with my highlights and cut. My hair is damaged and she was very careful to minimize further damage. The salon doesn't look like much from the outside but it is is bright and nicely equipped and decorated on the inside. All the stylists seemed to get along well and there was a cheerful vibe. It was very busy and the stylist knew most of their customers by name. The cost was about what you would expect for a cut and highlights. I would recommend giving them a try. Unlike my calls to some other local salons, this one seemed to want my business and cared that I received the best service possible.

Usually when I get my nails done, my hands will feel like they've been worked on. I've never had a bad experience but I would always feel like my cuticles have been cut and my nails have been cut. This time, I felt like I had my hands washed and moisturized only but with the appearance of a full detailed manicure. My feet were done first and after getting the heat turned down a bit, that was so relaxing. I used to get this done every 6 weeks but I've been going months w/o and I don't know if it's because of the longer gap between or me getting older but my foot tickled a bit and it caught me off guard because I've never had that sensation before. She acted as if it were normal but I guess to her it was. She jokingly asked if I wanted polish on my feet as she laughed and although I knew she was joking because she was laughing but she got serious and asked if I wanted clear. Now I don't know if polish is supposed to do something to protect your nails but I've never had it before and I'm not going to start now. I do wish nail places catered more to men. Not catered more to us but had some basic basic services. I think a basic manicure and pedicure (I refuse to call it man...ped...) I will likely be back here but I also go to the Fort Washington one because it's more in my travels but this one has done the best job of all the places I've been...ever.
