It's time....time to reveal the best kept secret in Southern Maryland. Tig's offers amazing hair take down services at the best prices around. Hairstyle in the picture is not from Tig. I went to Tig for take down service of the hairstyle in the picture. This is the second time I've come here for take down service and been satisfied. As an African American woman who loves her protective styling, I loathe the take down process. Each time I've come here I've called the day of and been able to obtain same day services. I didn't have to schedule a month out like some places. I wasn't overcharged for length or size of braids. I wasn't overcharged for a wash and blow dry. I admit I was skeptical going to anyone [non-black] but I'm so glad I took a chance and you should too. They were gentle with my hair and used heat protection. Oh my take down included a shampoo, condition, blow dry, and flat iron. I opted to forego the flat iron because I wear it in its natural fluffiness. I thought they were kind and communicated what I wanted the entire time. I was in and out within 2.5 hours I think. Each time I've gone, it's only been max 4 people and that includes the stylists, which is nice. Some places are fast but packed and the customer service takes a back seat. After reading other reviews and witnessing the lack of professionalism of the owner and her stylist, I am utterly shocked and appalled that this place is still in business. If no stars were an option, that's exactly what you would get for you unprofessionalism and lack of character! The simple fact that your stylist lied and mislead a NEW client into believing she could do a style knowing she couldn't, should allow you to REFUND ppl their money regardless of your so-called policy. My 10 year-old niece came in for a professional experience and left looking like she did her own her! I've been coming to get my hair cut and styled at Tigs for over 14 years. Like any salon, there are different stylists and I've seen a lot come and go. Some were good and some weren't cut out for this line of work. I would suggest always booking an appointment. I've had Tig do many crazy things to my hair from going platinum- to blue- to cherry red- and then back to black. I was always so surprised and excited how she transformed my hair!! She's definitely the GOAT in what she does!! She makes sure your satisfied. For me she's worth the wait when it's busy because there's not a lot of stylists like her. read more

Tig is one of the best hair dressers I've ever been to, and yes I've been to a lot! Shes professional and she's done some of the hardest colors on my hair from ombré to red and now to orange. Be careful going here. This salon I went to because my old hairstylist left her salon. Now I have seen this place really decline. U have to post because there is some nepotism going on in the reviews. Your appointment will be shared with many. She he attitude of the stylist, Davia is horrible, so she does not care that she is triple booking her customers. What makes it worse is they are all going it. I finally left the salon after my current stylist did not show up for an appointment. The owner does nothing about the issues, some are so serious I won't post here. I've heard such great things about the stylist Chris here that I wanted to try him out. I've had bad salon experiences in this area from other salons. I had a 12:00 PM....unfortunately I left around 2:15ish with wet hair because I've been waiting that long to get in his chair. Poor thing was overbooked & I didn't get to try him out. I will not be going to this salon again because that wait time was ridiculous! And they lost 3 more potential clients who's also looking for a good salon in the area. I always make an appointment with Davia. She's really good & fast. I love the outcome of my hair. She keeps it looking good and healthy. I havent been in awhile however, I would suggest her. I went in for a bikini wax. When she called me back, the sheet over the chair was dirty and she saw that I noticed and changed it. When I laid down, the light fixture above me had a dead bug in it which was not fun to stare at. She left the room three times to answer questions in the front but the worst part is, she was answering the phone while waxing me and put the customers on speaker phone to talk to them. She ran out of wax and I had to wait for the wax to reheat. She did double dip but poured the wax on plate before putting it on me so she didn't have to use another wooden spreader BUT would use that same spreader to scoop wax out of the canister to put on the plate after wiping it on me. It was bad all around. The extra $5 you pay for a nicer place is way worth it. I was new here and in a pinch but I'll never go back. read more

If I could leave Zero stars I would but since I can't here is what I think. When I called I was told to show up just over an hour later. When I did Tig was with another couple of customers. After 15 minutes I was getting my hair washed which took about 15 minutes. I believe the person washing my hair was stalling since Tig was busy. Tig was amazing!! I had color and a blowout done by her. I was referred by one of my friends and I will be going back to this salon. My hair was a really dark brown with rose gold tips when I got there and she did everything she had to do to lift the color. My hair color now is a dark red and I love it! The blowout was great!! I'm so happy I found someone in the area to do my hair. Tig and the staff in the salon all show that they care about their customers and will not let you leave until you are happy with your service. The girl that helps her kept me company most of the night and I don't think we ever introduced ourselves and just jumped in to talking. I went in for a hair cut and Tig was amazing. She was fast, friendly and knew exactly what I wanted. I didn't need to give much instruction for my hair and she gave me the cut I needed. I'm usually very picky with my hair stylist and if my old stylist wasn't always on vacation, I wouldn't have to look for another stylist... I have been going to Tig since January 2017. I found her after checking salons on yelp and am thankful I went. She fixed an ombré the first time. Gave me an amazing cut the second time. And the third time she gave me a whole new look. She is meticulous and a perfectionist. You will not walk out without looking and feeling fabulous. She takes her time and does amazing work. It has become a family affair now with my sister, stepmom, and daughter seeing her. My sister's friend has also come to Tig. Took me five years to find someone this good. Yesli gave me an awesome massage each of the three times she washed my hair. Let me just say, I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep. Don't go to TIGS if you want honest and professional hair care. I have documentation that a hairstylist, Sasha, told me she could do a braided hairstyle for my granddaughter by blowing her hair-out. My granddaughter told me that Ms. Sasha kept putting her back under the hair dryer, to gain the hairstyle effects she wanted. Ms. Sasha finished my granddaughter's hair by 3pm, by 7am the next morning, my granddaughter's hair was very dry and dull looking, exactly the opposite from the previous day, when TIGS stylist, Sasha, did her hair. The next morning you could CLEARLY see the UNPROFESSIONAL bulges where Sasha added hair extensions to the hairstyle. Naturally I contacted TIGS stylist, Sasha, to complain. After some back and forth, Ms. Sasha finally admits she was wrong when she told me the hairstyle could be achieved by blowing out the hair, instead of flat ironing the hair. Upon further negotiating of a redo for my granddaughter's hairstyle, TIGS further acknowledges they don't do ANY braided hairstyles with extensions that isn't flat ironed, other than crochet braids. Once THEY acknowledge THEIR misrepresentation to do the hairstyle, I requested a refund for their totally unprofessional hairstyle. Ms. Sasha then informed me, that the manager says "TIGS does not do refunds". I want everyone to be aware that not only does TIGS not do refunds for bad service rendered, but TIGS also does not do professional quality hair braiding, either. read more

If you want a GREAT cut and color at a VERY reasonable price, look no further than Tig's! Just moved to the area. Went to a "Hair and Spa Salon" in town and will never go back! I was nickeled and dimed for cut, wash, blow dry, even down to highlights (I had to pay for each one!!!!!)! After that experience, I found Tig on the internet. I went in and spoke to her, and called her 3 weeks later for an appointment. I called Friday after work, and I was in on Saturday at noon. She asked what color I wanted to do my hair, and after telling her what I liked and didn't like about the color, she went off and started mixing. When it was time to cut, I showed her two pictures and told her I didn't want to lose my length. I was AMAZED when she was done and I looked in the mirror! My hair looked great! The color came out better than I could have imagined, and the cut was EXACTLY what I wanted! Tig knows what she is doing when she cuts and colors. She has many years of experience.
