It's pretty expensive and took over AN HOUR. I think if you're coming here just for drinks or to watch a game this may not be an issue for you, but if you want food you may have to wait a long time, overpay and then be disappointed with your choice.

We booked for a weekday evening and the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived but filled in as the night went on. It's a pretty big space so I imagine they have busier times - the brunch with 25-cent drinks seems like it would draw crowds. The menu consists of pretty much a single option - a three-course meal consisting of bread, salad, and steak frites - and all you have to do is say how you like your steak cooked. Of course, I had to get medium rare. I felt like every component of the meal was solid, not perfect, but still enjoyable. The bread was high-quality but cut a bit too thick and toasted a bit too long which made it hard (literally) to bite into. The salad had tender butter lettuce, but the dressing wasn't quite punchy enough to my liking. The steak came with a really nice peppercorn gravy, but the particular cut is lean and somewhat tough (it has to be a pretty affordable steak, all things considered), so a cook on the rarer side helps keep it tender. No notes on the fries though, those were delicious! One fun and generous aspect of the meal is that a server comes around to give you a second serving of steak and fries partway through your meal! It's not as much food as it sounds since the steak portion is on the small side, but it's still very welcome. My second steak serving was cooked a bit more than the first despite both supposedly being medium rare. Didn't bother me much, but I did prefer the first rarer serving. Since I had indicated a special occasion on my reservation, our server gave us a complimentary sundae for dessert with a very dramatic sparkler on top! Loved that touch and our server Cody was great and friendly throughout. Overall, Medium Rare won't exactly blow the minds of hardcore foodies, but it's a nice way to have a meal out that isn't too casual or too fancy, doesn't induce decision anxiety, and has an incredibly streamlined menu that should satisfy just about any palate (minus vegetarians and vegans; there is supposed to be a mushroom alternative to the steak, but I'm sure you can do better elsewhere). After submitting my inquiry for catering on their website, Mino called me right away to discuss our options and created a custom menu based on our budget, expectations, and dietary needs (vegetarian options). This was a rather late inquiry in my opinion (only 2 weeks before the event!!) and Mino assured me that everything would be just fine - and it totally was! We had two staff from 2636brew at the party to assist. They brought spring rolls, spanakopita, salad, meatballs and rolls, coleslaw, blackened chicken and alfredo pasta, and so many veggie options! Everything was outstanding! So many people were raving about how good the food was. And they brought a perfect amount of food. She even took care of our bartenders which was so nice!! Our venue did not have staff to work the party, so I had asked Mino to stay at the party to help maintain a clean space and they really helped to keep on top of the mess everyone was making! It was a HUGE help because I was able to enjoy myself and not worry about the clean up during the party. There was not much clean up at all by the end of the night.
