    Caesar salad with blackened shrimp
    Taylor H.

Very ok. I like the casual vibe and they have a nice patio. All the staff seem to be nice. I ordered the Caesar salad with blackened shrimp. If you typically don't like a lot of dressing this isn't the salad for you. The dressing is creamy and a little too much for me. I prefer to taste more lettuce than dressing, but still a good flavor. You might not see the shrimp, but they have a decent amount, I just chopped them up before the photo. I also really enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc. I did a taste of the Sauvignon and the Pinot Grigio and the Sauvignon won for me. Crisp and light. I wasn't able to capture the actual name of the wine before they took the menu. I came in for a quick lunch that was close to the airport. Mission accomplished.

Cute spot right by the entrance of the Navy Yard, there's indoor and outdoor seating. Food was good, especially the fried chicken sandwich and the fried avocado burger except for the fries. The texture was great but they were super salty and I couldn't finish it. I also got the fried cod tacos but they were ok. The fried fished lacked in flavor but everything else was fine. We did take out since we got there too late to dine in but food came out quick.

Came in for a quick lunch with some colleagues! Plenty of seating both indoors and out! Unfortunately parking is very limited and can definitely be a challenge on busier days. Quick tip - if you are coming with others try and carpool! Staff was incredibly friendly and very accommodating even for our large group. Even when it came time for the bill we were able to pay individually as a party of 7! Food here is awesome! I would highly recommend the spicy tuna nachos or any of the burgers! The only meal that has disappointed me here were the fish tacos. Also, they do half priced burgers on Mondays what a deal! ***SECRET TIP*** If going to a Phillies game (on a monday) find street parking close to the restaurant by the Courtyard Marriott. Then, walk over to the gatehouse for happy hour, a half priced burger, and 20% off by showing your Phillies tickets! Finally, walk over to the ball park (10min of walking) and enjoy the game!

Definitely a good find with a lovely view of the Navy Yard! Went here for a dinner on a roadtrip with my sister and was so happy with our choice. We went at around 5:30 on Monday so we were able to take advantage of their amazing happy hour and burger deal. On Mondays all burgers are half off and you should definitely take advantage of this. I tried the black and blue burger and it was flavorful and juicy. I would have liked some lettuce and tomato but should have added this myself. Staff was friendly and accommodating, as this was my first time in Philadelphia and I was surprised by the level of hospitality. All in all if you are in the area definitely checkout Gatehouse!

Our group of 6 went to the Gatehouse before a concert at the Wells Fargo Center, parked in WFC, walked here, easy in and out. It was a Saturday night, and we made a reservation, I expected it to be busy with all the concerts going on was pleasantly surprised to get seated immediately (early), quick service, good food, and a decent price, for a city restaurant. Food was good, all except the shrimp Poboy, which had four medium shrimp, and they were cooked to be hard as a rock. Not what I expected for a poboy, disappointed. I broke my own rule by trying poboys outside of the New Orleans area. Rosemary chips were decent, crispy, but the rosemary is overwhelming anything around the chip. But, other than that, Fried Chicken Sandwich, Brussels Sprouts, Wings, all good, service was spot on, would go back and try other options (not a PoBoy), as the place was nice, convenient, and worked for us.

Love this place! From its accommodating staff to quick and experienced servers, we always have a great time. Their HH specials are unreal and their food menu is great for a casual bite. Our server Chris was great especially on a busy evening before Eagles home kickoff. I love the inside and outside tables - both have plenty of TVs and space to enjoy a casual meal with family and friends.

Different Cheesesteak #1144. Special day of drinks and cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan. I want to love Gatehouse. - sidebar - not good enough for single name - I love the new vibe at the Navy Yard. The Gatehouse has all of the amenities. 2nd meal here and second time disappointed. $16???? The Gatehouse, please do better.

This was a fun stop very close to our hotel. There is inside and outside seating as well as upstairs seating with live music outside. Very cool environment and fun to people watch. It is very laid back and seems to be popular. Our server, Denny was excellent! He was funny, made some great recommendations and ensured that we had everything that we needed. The food was interesting. It is more of a hang out instead of upscale. Wings, burgers, and bites. Everything was good. The avocado burger was delicious. I opted for lettuce instead of a bun and was pleasantly surprised to receive butter lettuce. My coworker ordered the wings and she said they were good. We shared fried cheese which of course was delicious. Happy we stopped in.

We stopped at gatehouse prior to a concert at the Wells Fargo center and were very pleased with our choice. Food: my wife and I both got burgers and my brother in law got the cod sandwich (not pictured). We all really enjoyed our sandwiches. The black and blue had a lot of blue cheese and had perfectly cooked bacon. The fries were also crispy and well salted. Service: our server was very attentive and brought over everything that we needed. Our food came out much quicker than expected which was nice Ambiance: it's a more casual spot with burgers, sandwiches and wings but it's nice inside. The restaurant is well decorated and it's separated with the bar area downstairs and seating upstairs. The bathrooms were all really clean as well

I loved my Shrimp Po Boy, very crispy shrimp along with fries. Would get it again. Servers were chill, no complaints. I went at first to eat at 3pm on a weekday, it was tranquil and then I arrived there for happy hour. The ambiance is busy and energetic for happy hour, especially right before a 76ers game. Recommend to enjoy happy hour here for their $5 beer and $5 starters, and just walk 5 mins to any of the stadiums. Great experience! Quick meal before taking my daughter to the Philadelphia Airport for a trip. Our server was Katherine, she took great care of us, frequently checked on us and helped w recommendations. It was a pre-Covid level of service. My daughter chose the chicken schnitzel and loved it. I went for the Kielbasa Ruben w a side salad. Will return!

Went on Friday evening, plenty of parking thankfully. the servers were very quick and super nice especially since I was dining solo. The food came out so fast and it was perfectly hot. Inside from where I sat was cute, just looked like a normal bar. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in Philly!

I actually celebrated my birthday here last year and this place is always a hit, never a miss! We started with the cucumber and tomato salad and the country bread, and what a delicious combination! We also ordered a side of olive oil, and they seriously have some of the best olive oil I've had in a while. I definitely recommend getting some on the side to dip your country bread in. Trust me! We paired everything with a pitcher of sangria, which gives you about four drinks and was much more economical than ordering individual cocktails. I finally tried the chicken Parmesan, and boy, am I kicking myself for not trying it sooner! The chicken breast was thick, juicy, moist, and perfectly crunchy. Some places make their chicken Parm so thin that it barely feels like you're eating chicken, but this was an actual substantial piece of chicken with the perfect bite. Our waitress told me I could swap out the pasta and sauce that normally come with the chicken Parmesan, so of course I did! I got the rigatoni with vodka sauce, and it was DELIGHTFUL. The portion was massive, so I took leftovers home and yes, I absolutely ate them the very next day! My fiancé got the branzino and wanted something lighter so he could help me with the rigatoni. His plate was beautifully presented, the fish tasted incredibly fresh, and it was exactly what he wanted. Overall, we had another wonderful experience. This restaurant will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we'll definitely be back! A special shoutout to our waitress, who was absolutely delightful and told me I could change the pasta and sauce with my chicken Parmesan. You changed my life! You have no idea how happy you made me. The service was good, but there was a wait both times we strolled by (Sunday and Tuesday), so would recommend making a res. The only caveat is that I would not recommend coming here with a party larger than 4 people, the restaurant is very small and rustic and can't fit a larger party. It was fine for us as we were able to push some outside tables together (and it was a beautiful evening), but I do wish we could have sat inside.

The dish was delicious. I enjoyed my plate of sea-inspired tonnarelli nero. Bay scallops in crab ragu with fennel sofrito. Served with squid ink pasta that imparted a slight brininess. The pasta was cooked pangrattato style-- coated in panko bread crumbs and garlic. The dish had many flavors but they all came back to the theme. The restaurant has a great two-level layout: a bustling coffee bar and small Italian market on the lower level, and a wine bar restaurant upstairs. It was a beautiful day, so outdoor seating was available, but after the hostess explained that the full menu is served on both levels, we opted to sit upstairs in the wine bar. Our server was fantastic--friendly, immediate, and quick to offer sparkling or tap water while handing us all the options. They offer a main lunch menu, a specials menu, and a great lunchtime deal with a limited $20 per person fixed menu. We started by sharing the mussels in a white garlic sauce. They were delicious, and the table bread dipped into the leftover garlic juices was absolutely delightful! For our main courses, my daughter got the spaghetti carbonara, and I ordered the chitarra pasta with red chili. Both pastas were cooked perfectly al dente and came in very satisfying portion sizes. My daughter's carbonara was even served with a savory bacon-flavored gelato on top! My only minor critique of my dish was that the pork was a bit fattier than I prefer and wasn't cooked as crisp as I'd like, but the flavor was still great. We couldn't leave without dessert, so we both got gelato. I had the amaretto and salted caramel, while my daughter went with dark chocolate and salted caramel. Both were insanely good--super creamy, rich, and full of flavor. Overall, the bill was surprisingly reasonable given how much quality food we enjoyed. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu, but especially for that unbelievable gelato!

We also got the Cacio e Pepe which was fantastic and Al Dente. Service: 9/10 Ambiance: 8.3/10 - This venue is pretty small. Don't sit outside or else you will smell the fishy streets of Philly.

cute restaurant in center city with the iconic spicy chicken caesar!…read more all i can say is: spicy chicken caesar. it lives up to the hype, and it is delicious. i've eaten here several times now and none of the other food is particularly memorable, but the spicy chicken caesar is fantastic albeit a little expensive. i really need my boyfriend to learn how to make the spicy chicken caesar so i stop coming back, but it makes for a fantastic girl dinner. most of the times i've come here were either for restaurant week or the spicy chicken caesar. i really don't think it's worth coming for restaurant week, it's kind of a bummer that your whole table has to order the same thing and that you share a lot of the dishes. it ends up being not a whole lot of food, and i did the math and the cost comes out to be about the same. overall, it's a decent restaurant with good service. it's located right in center city with a million other restaurants so it's easily overlooked, but when i think of prunella i think of spicy chicken caesar.

My favorite restaurant that I went to while visiting Philly. This place feels like being back in…read moreItaly. It is tiny inside with just a bar and a couple tables. That's it. I love this European feel. Up first, I had a $17 El Noe. I was hoping for a strong burnt mezcal taste, but nope. It seems like only Florida gets this drink right. The drink wasn't bad at all, but I was just looking for that burnt taste. I also had a $18 Dirty Pasta Water Martini, basically a dirty martini. It was fine, but it came in a micro grass which was kind of weird. Clearly this isn't a place you come for cocktails. Now, onto the star of the night, the food. Up first, the $16 Spring Salad. Loved it, hit the spot. Also, had the $17 Arancini. I really liked those little balls and especially the dipping sauce. I had the $26 Rigatoni. It was absolutely phenomenal. I could go eat it every day. My mom had the $24 Tonnarelli and it was also top tier excellent. The flavors, the atmosphere, the staff, everything here is top notch. The Internet did not let me down. I'm so glad I decided to book this restaurant. I had a wonderful night.

The rumps seasonal pasta was great and would come back for that!…read more Maybe because I had higher expectations this was a 4 for me! The antipasti we chose the crudo was not my style of sashimi pairing. They added a fish with something even more oily/heavy so it just made everything heavy and not light and fresh which I prefer. The rigatoni honestly was way too salty for my taste. With the focaccia that's mid...it was less salty. The rumps seasonal pasta was delicious and fresh tasting! The service however is amazing and the server gave the great rec of the seasonal rumps pasta!
