We called a few months ago to make a reservation for dinner since we had a nearby lodging months in advance and heard great things about this location. After calling ahead of time for a table, they said there was no wait but no availability for a reservation. We came in about 10 minutes later and there were a few tables outside that were full and 3-4 more on a patio with a sign saying they were not seating the area. They in fact had a table there being served and refused to serve our table of adults and a child for no reason other than... "not having open tables". When asked about the area with the sign where people were sitting they told us that those people called months in advance (as we had) ... as if those other open tables didn't exist unless you knew someone. The prejudice of this place is disputable and honestly it was severely outdated and needs some attention. We can't speak on the menu as we were rejected, but we do not recommend this location as there are so many better ones in the area. read more

This place is incredible- a hotel in the "Great Lodge" style . Staying there is like a time travel vacation to a more elegant era. The ambiance feels like any time you turn a corner someone will pass you wearing clothing from the 1920's or 30's. I did not see any apparitions/ghosts, but I got a very strong impression that there was a woman with thick dark hair and a large hat (Edwardian style) in the hallway outside our room on several occasions. The general atmosphere made me not want to leave. The restaurant was really neat- beautiful dining room with a smashing view (aspects of it reminded me of the Grand hotel on Mackinac Island). We had the special of steak and vegetables, along with some good Pinot Noir. The steak was perfectly cooked and the entire meal very satisfying. read more

We just got back from vacation, and the staff at this resort made one of our days really great. We got snowed in at Cloudcroft from what was supposed to be a day trip, and we felt so taken care of by the people here. They made sure we had a room, even when they were basically full and needed rooms for their own staff (who were also stuck). They helped us with every need we had. One of the staff even gave us his spare bottle of contact solution so we could see the next day! Can't speak highly enough of this place, beautiful lodge, town, restaurant, and people. I wish I could give a negative rate, we went to couples retreat for the weekend. We took our small pug with us because we couldn't leave her at home. First the moved us to the pavilion from the lodge so we had to go up to the lodge every morning for the class and then drive back to our room. During these classes we had to leave our pug in the room. Sometime Sunday on our last day when we where in the classes about pug got bite by a snake. We took her to the vet and lucky with medicine and treatment to the bite and thank god it was not a snake bite that could have killed her. When he contacted the hotel about it and should them pictures with a very high vet bill they could have cared less and just told us that no way a snake is around the area and no way it happened at there hotel. The owners don't care about what happens to their guest and the hotel is very out dated. So if you care about your pet or even our self don't stay at this hotel. read more

My partner and I are huge history buffs as well as ghost hunting nerds and had been trying to get down to Cloudcroft for the past 3 years. We made our reservation to go there for the Memorial Day holiday back in February and we're looking so forward to getting a break and a little romantic vacation in this beautiful part of the state. The hotel is beautiful, the property is beautiful, the bar and restaurant have a wonderfully creepy, old vibe and both the wait staff and bartender were efficient and friendly, even though their menu could use some work and updating. Timothy at the front desk was charming, knowledgeable m, and friendly, and when we took a walk on the golf course, we saw some wild horses and some elk hanging out! Our room on the top floor was cozy and clean, and had an incredible view, everything was great. Until around 7 am the next morning, when we were stirred by the sound of generators. We blocked out the sound and we're still dozing when the sound of pallets were dropped right over our heads and hammering started happening. It was right at 8 am and the noise was so loud that it was shaking that part of the building and the chandelier above us was moving around. Then there were men walking around right outside our open window, working and we were both undressed. We were too afraid to walk over to the window and close it, or make a sound, in case they looked inside at us. I called the desk at 8:30 and was greeted with "Good afternoon, Lodge okay Cloudcroft!" I reminded her that it wasn't afternoon at all, that is was 8:30, and that it sounded like a war zone was happening right over our heads and that there was a construction crew right outside the window. She very rudely told me "that's why you got a phone call." I never received a phone call, email, or heads up from the front desk that there was going to be construction at 8 am on a freaking holiday. They sent me two or three reminder emails, I spoke with them on the phone when I had to make reservations for dinner, and spoke with their front desk three times the day we checked in---no one ever told us they were going to be doing construction, offer us another room, re-schedule our stay, nada. When we went downstairs to check out, we came to find out that the person I spoke with on the phone, Kelli, was the manager. She gaslit the whole thing- denying she said what she said to me on the phone, denying that they knew construction was going to be happening until just recently, still implying that I was lying about the phone call that I never received, and said something stupid like "Well I've stayed at hotels where they were doing construction and they didn't tell me and I didn't care" and then only offered us a 10% discount! If I knew we were going to drive over 4 hours, spend all kinds of money to get there, and in their bar, gift shop, restaurant, and hotel room, I would not have gone there if I knew there was going to be construction. We both ended up waking up earlier than we would have on a normal work day, and scared, and violated. Then to be gaslit by this woman---no apology, no trying to smooth things over, just arguing, denying l , and a lousy 10% discount. If we just needed a roof over our heads for tue evenings, we would've gone to some cheap motel for $50. We wanted an experience-- the one the hotel is trying to sell to tourists who come from all over. Then Kelli would not give us her manager's number-- she gave us the number to the front desk where she answered the phone. We asked her to give us her manager, Scott's phone number. She still would not give us his direct line but transferred us over to his extension. We left a message and he did call back, still never apologizing, but just saying that he talked to Kelli and would give us the full refund of the room. A few days go by and not only had they still not refunded our room but full charged it and then tacked a $100 service fee to it. Between my partner and I, we both called and emailed this hotel for two weeks 8 times to where it was obvious that our numbers had been blocked. During that time, I got some smart ass email back from Scott, continuing to make excuses, when I said that I would file a police report for theft since they not only didn't refund me but charged me extra. Finally after two weeks, someone from their finance department called and made it right, but by then I was so upset with the disaster that our romantic getaway turned into that I didn't even answer the phone. We both work really hard and have a million things going on and to make that kind of time means a lot to us, and the fact that we have been so stoked on visiting this place for three years since we heard about it, only to be treated like a couple of unreasonable Karens when we were so completely disrespected and violated is just absolutely unacceptable. The Lodge, once nice and proud, is ripping off customers under new ownership. We have stayed twice in the last year, once in October and again recently, and it is SIGNIFICANTLY worse now even though the current ownership brags about loving old hotels, yada, yada, yada. Shame on them for what they are telling customers. We wrongly thought it would be remodeled when they reopened on July 1 with a few touch-ups still underway. Our mistake. They made a big deal of the reopening. The place is NOT remodeled as they say, the one and only restaurant, Rebecca's, is only open a few days a week for very limited hours and half the restaurant, the old pretty half, is shut-in! Forget getting breakfast. The restaurant, the one they brag about, is CLOSED for breakfast. They are deceiving potential customers. Some rooms have been remodeled they say but many are still shut in behind ugly plastic tarps. The front of the hotel, the front entrance, is completely shut-in and the rear entrance is terrible for parking and getting luggage in. Forget luggage carts, there are none. Maintenance and upkeep is NON EXISTENT! We walked by a gross cigarette butt receptacle for several days, our entire stay, that had tens of butts floating at the top! Gross but they obviously don't care. And that was right outside the rear entrance which is now the main, and only entrance! They are still charging customers full price and people like us have signed up because we believed their line of bull. Do they care about their customers? Absolutely NOT! The vast majority of customers are older folks who have trouble with the very steep stairs everywhere and there is no elevator. I asked and no elevators are planned in the renovation. I helped several get their suitcases up the stairs during our recent visit. I could go on and on. What a GIANT disappointment. One desk attendant told me it would be months before they get close to finished and another told me it will be well into 2022 before they get close to finished. Bottom line up front: we stayed here for FREE and didn't think it was worth it. Read on... My wife and I were here for a marriage retreat for a weekend. We weren't impressed whatsoever and were very surprised based on the stellar reviews it gets here. For one, the food in the restaurant is overpriced and not that great. I had pancakes and blueberries for breakfast and honestly the pancakes had absolutely no taste. My wife thought I was exaggerating until she tried them. The actual hotel staff (not in the restaurant) are not very friendly. We stayed at the cheap Best Western the 4th of July weekend (about two months ago) and they staff was ten times friendlier there. Every time we walked by the front desk they were asking us how our time was going, how was our room, etc. It was about $49 a night and a MUCH larger room than ours. Here at the Lodge, we walked past the front desk about 10-15 times throughout the course of the weekend and not one person even bothered to acknowledge us. The room itself was also mediocre. The bathroom had mold all around the tub (nasty). There wasn't a SINGLE drawer or place to put your stuff. Consequently, our stuff was scattered all over the room all weekend. The room was tiny. I didn't even have enough room to stand up straight on my side of the bed. The bed sat about 6-8 inches from the wall so I had to get up, turn sideways, and shimmy to the bathroom in the mornings. The TV was tiny and from the early 90s. No fridge and no microwave. The saving grace was that the WiFi was free and relatively fast. Additionally, the bar was reasonably priced and the bartenders were very friendly. Even they admitted that in recent years the business has really dropped off here. Honestly I can't think of a single reason to stay at this hotel. There is nothing to do in Cloudcroft (especially in the summer months, but the bartenders were telling us even in the last 10 years there isn't much to do in the winter either), the food at all the restaurants is terrible (just look at the reviews for yourself), etc. Save the money, and go stay 15 miles or so away down the mountain in Alamagordo. We stayed at the Best Western and the room was HUGE, the price was reasonable, and everything was clean.. If you truly feel like you need to come up to Cloudcroft for some unknown reason, it's only a 20-30 minute scenic drive away. read more

We stayed at the Lodge for a few days. It was hard to write a review since there are so many aspects of the property. This is strictly for the room we stayed in (I won't mention the food/dining experiences). The room we were in was actually located down at the pavilion. Being down the hill made it difficult to enjoy the pool/hot tub, but we still liked being away from the main lodge where we felt like we had the place all to ourselves. Our room was a good size for the three of us. It had two separate rooms with a door to close off the second room and a bathroom in between. The beds were comfy with lots of pillows and the room was clean, even the bathroom was spotless. There is a fridge which came in handy, plus they had nice shampoo/conditioner and plenty of clean towels. We had a hard time getting the room to the right temperature. It was constantly either too hot or too cold. Aside from that, we enjoyed our stay. I'd stay here again if I were in the area. read more

Extremely disappointed! Love old hotels, have stayed at the Hotel Paisano in Marfa (owned by the same folks) and LOVE IT!! The Lodge is under renovation, which is okay, but trying to half-ass running the place while this is going on does not work. We went for my wife's belated birthday (mentioned in my reservation but not acknowledged by staff) , thought we would splurge and pay twice as much than the Dusty Boots Hotel up the road. Let's start with the fireplace in the splendid lobby was not working, something we were really looking forward to, having a cocktail in front of the fire, oh well. Plastic Dixie cups in the rooms, cheap coffee maker in the room with run of the mill food service pack coffee "whitener" with sweeter packets and stirrer. Lousy coffee service in the lobby, with cheap styrofoam cups same as in the rooms. Now on to the Rebecca's. It was a Friday night and busy since there is not much else in Cloudcroft. When checking in we inquired about reservations and were told it was not necessary, well it would have helped. We got there at 7:00 and were put on a waiting list, most of the diners were not guests at the Lodge, which irked me a bit. So we ordered 2 martinis ($15 each) which were mediocre, and sat in the cold lobby starring and stewing at the non-functioning fireplace. A couple we met earlier in the day walked out of Rebecca's and commented how cold the lobby was "they should have the fire going" I replied "it's broken", nice. Dinner was terrible, food service/Sysco products the whole way. Ordered the flauta appetizer (never arrived) and soup. Then for the "entrees" hamburger (food service patty) rare, and my wife the BLTA, with fries, once again food service and food service catsup? We ordered the chocolate mousse and whatever dessert. Cool whip and chocolate cream something, did not eat, yuk!!! One waitress and four, yes four bus staff loitering and hovering looking for something to do. Very poor management and poorly run which sums the whole experience. If you can't do things right because you are under renovation, that excuse only goes so far. Shut down until things are finished so the place can be run properly. Operating the Lodge in this manner is an embarrassment to the brand. Shut it down until your are ready to do things right. read more

Really neat place to stay to get away from the city. At first the only reason I wanted to check it out was because of the ghost story attached to the place, but after hanging out for a while I really enjoyed the place. The lobby and the restaurant, are really interesting and relaxing places to hang out. The tower keys can be borrowed from the front desk to see where Clark Gable and Judy Garland carved into the wood. The only real con about the stay was that the rooms are very simple without a lot of frills. Other than that, a very enjoyable experience. read more

I've loved The Lodge that was until this year. My family has been going to The Lodge for 22 years for the New Years holiday and I've been going for about 7years now. We've always had such a lovely time, the staff felt like family and our whole stay was wonderful. It is an older place but I think that's what gives it it's charm. The food has always been great from breakfast to dinner. This year something changed, most of the staff seemed to be gone which is heartbreaking in itself but we had 18 people for dinner and they seemed to be out of everything, the waitress spent more time telling us what they didn't have than doing anything else. when the food came it was undercooked and flavorless.... awful and breakfast wasn't great at all. The biggest upset was the no New Years eve party at the Pavilion.. they put on the best new years eve party and it came as a surprise that hey weren't having one but yet a small one in the bar... we had a party of 18 which were coming in from different states so we made the best of our stay. instead of confirming for next year we decided to start a new tradition. it seems to be declining. This place is fun if you have a love of kitsch and lowered expectations. We stayed in the retreat for 3 days with our four and one year old. The Retreat is an old house renovated into four suites and a communal game/ dining room and kitchen. Though we found the kitchen largely unusable. Our suite had a big comfy bed, pull out couch, private porch and a jacuzzi tub big enough to fit our little family. The suite rooms are also divided by a gas fireplace. Rebecca's, the restaurant at the lodge is not bad. If you're a foodie you won't be impressed, but it will be the best food you'll eat in Cloudcroft. It's pricey, with stodgy slow service. Granted, we were there around Christmas which is their busy season, but they seemed wholly unprepared to handle even a half-full dining room. They were, however, welcoming to our little ones and even made a bed under the piano for my friend's 3 year old when she conked out at the table. I've never seen that happen before. Bottom line, if you find yourself in the tiny mountain town of Cloudcroft on a lark, The Lodge is probably the best place to be. Show up with a full wallet and lowered expectations and you'll have a great time. Coudcroft is stunning- make sure you take a drive up toward the sunspot observatory. It's a beautiful drive through the Lincoln National Forest. read more

This is an older hotel with a reputation of being haunted by a ghost named Rebecca. Legend has it that she was killed in the arms of her lover by her current boyfriend. The hotel is filled with images of her and the front desk even has a ghost detector available for check out. On the top floor, there is a tower with a beautiful view. The wall was signed by some famous people! You'll have to stop in to find out who :). This hotel also has the highest elevation golf course, crocket, and volleyball. The downsides of an older hotel come into play here. The rooms don't heat up very well when it's cold and if your neighbors are also showering, you're sharing a water tank which can be very inconvinient. All in all, I thought the ambiance and customer service outweighed the cons. read more

Spent a night here for a weekend getaway. The scenery surrounding the Lodge is beautiful! The Lodge itself is rustic and old world. Rooms are comfortable and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. I feel that the grounds could be kept up more professionally (not a fan of cheap Christmas lights as decoration year round), and I was disappointed that our room stayed at 78 degrees with the AC running so we had to rely on opening the window to cool off. Luckily the air outside was cool and fresh. We also would have liked to see more outdoor seating/recreation area for guests, as the small gazebo was full with one group and the pool and jacuzzi were closed. But, a quick jaunt down the road and we were in the forest. Overall, our stay was a welcome respite from the desert landscapes we are accustomed to and we are glad we visited. read more

The lodge is very pretty. But the rooms are very small. The in room booklets lists swimming and hot tubs as year-round options (or at least spring options) but that is not true. The front desk is polite but a mess. They are slow and confused. The restaurant is terrible. It took more than an hour to get our starters. The waitress brought wine but no opener and no wine glasses for 15 minutes. We had to hunt down the hostess that was missing for that whole time before that got resolved. The food was seriously mediocre. Definitely not worth the cost and the terrible service. Would never come back. The view was nice, but here are pretty views all over. Do yourself a favor and pay less for something better. read more

Only the computers, phones, ... give away that the times have changed, everything else is well kept up and the front desk night clerk was very helpful and gave us a late night tour of the place. It is a nice hotel and we stayed for one night. It's an old place and they have some parking issues, but it's not too bad. In case you are in a wheelchair there also might be some issues but it is manageable. We stayed on the ground floor due to the stairs that were a problem and our room was quite nice. As we drove all day we didn't do much besides taking a walk around the hotel and checking it out on the inside. There are a couple of things I didn't like and one is that I cut myself, or whatever I did but I was bleeding on my arm or leg or so and I thought the front desk has a first aid kit so I don't have to go to my car. I waited for five minutes at the front desk in the middle of the day and nobody was there, no message no nothing. I found out later that the front desk in the summer also runs two different shops and takes care of a couple of other things, so I ended up going to my car to take care of that. What would have happen if someone actually needed assistance? So this wasn't that great, but we went for the restaurant there as well, this has it's own Yelp page as they should and they did a bad job with our food, we got it when it was cold. So if you want dinner, try a different place and not the steak restaurant in the hotel. Oh and the pool was closed for some reason. read more

Their payment policy is that you pay 100% of the bill up front, when you make the reservation and, if you cancel, you do not get your money back. I was told they leave it on the books for you so that you can rearrange a stay at another time. Nice way of saying money up front, no refunds. My credit card was charged 3 times for the entire stay. It took me calling repeatedly and about 6 hours to speak to something besides an answering machine. Not at all responsive to customer needs. The room was small and a bit cramped but we were mostly using the room as a place to sleep and bathe so...no big deal. We stayed the first 3 nights without any serious issues. On the fourth night around 8 PM (bedtime for us), we started hearing whooping, shouting, raised voices, and very loud music. My husband called the desk and was informed that it was the local Project Graduation (sober celebrating for high school graduates) Party. The party was outside at the edge of the parking lot about 3-4 doors down from us. The desk attendant told my husband it was only for a 'few' hours, when he asked how long, he was told until midnight. That is late for people who get up between 3 & 4 AM. My husband called again and asked to speak to the manager (There had to be some solution, right?) He was told the Manager on duty was not available because she was tending bar. (Staffing issues?) We waited a few minutes and I called and asking to speak to the manager again (it is now pushing 9PM.) When she finally came to the telephone, she stated all the appropriate things; there were no other rooms except those near the party, she would start calling some local condominiums, and ask the kids to hold it down. I told her that was not fair to the kids; they will only graduate high school once in their lives. I did not want their night messed up, too, just because someone at The Lodge had made a bone head decision. After hanging up with her, my husband and I talked a bit and decided we were leaving. I called the desk told them we were leaving. The closest place, going in the direction we were headed next, was about 90 miles away in Artesia, NM. We checked in there at about 11:00PM MST. For this we paid an addition $130.00 It is my guess that whoever made the decision to book us and at least one other couple at the Graduation Party venue thought we would just tolerate the noise because there are no other options in Cloudcroft. I was told by the desk clerk on duty when we left that we would receive some kind of refund. We have been home 2 & 1/2 weeks without hearing anything from anyone at The Lodge. read more

Golf was amazing, Mike was awesome with us on information about the course, and the groundskeeper on the course was amazing, so thankful for the The Lodge Golf course, it made our weekend. This was our first time here, we had some issues with the Lodge, but it was a holiday weekend so hopefully it was just a fluke with service desk lady and the lady running brunch with reservations. Such a beautiful little hotel nestled in the mountains of Cloudcroft, elev. 8663 feet. Visit the tower at night to see the beautiful New Mexico sky full of stars and see where Judy Garland and Clark Gable carved their names into the wood. The hotel is supposedly haunted (by a friendly ghost named Rebecca) which did freak me out a little, but the rooms were very cozy, the staff very friendly, and the main room has a beautiful fireplace and ambiance. The hotel restaurant, Rebecca's, served delicious prime rib steak and has a pretty lengthy menu. A very nice bar as well which is purported to be Al Capone's bar that was shipped in from Chicago. A must-see place, very lovely located in a very lovely town. read more

When I visited New Mexico, beside White Sands, Cloudcroft and The Lodge at Cloudcroft is another place that I will always remember. This building in particular has so much history to it and also really unique and just breathtaking gorgeous setting. Apparently they're very proud of their ghosts too so beware of that also if you're sensitive to that kind of stuff. I think not too many tourist visit this place, so a must see/experience place. We were pleased that The Lodge had space available for our last minute booking and the price was right. However, we were disappointed with the overall experience. There was only one mirror in the room and it was above the sink so for two women getting ready, it was a challenge. There was one overhead light and one bedside lamp so one half of the room was always dark. The shower head was terrible...took 20 minutes to shower because the stream took so long to get from head to toe. The sheets had pine needles in them as if they had been dropped on the floor before the bed was made. The Lodge has a lot of antique furniture our room was just perfect for my family of 3. The view on our room was breath -taking this place is somewhere to relax and enjoy the great scenery. Haven't actually stayed here, but we have been to The Lodge a few times as well as in a couple of the shops. We have dined at the restaurant, Rebecca's several times. Cloudcroft is a nice little resort town. It is NOT a commercial hangout for party-ers and nightlife. It is a resort town for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle, and heat of city life and relax in the outdoors. There is a very small ski area - snow willing, and in the summer months hiking and mountain biking are the past times of choice. If you do not ski (and there is no snow), mountain bike, hike, or play golf (available at the Lodge).... or like shopping in small town tourist shops... then Cloudcroft is NOT the place for you. That having been said, the best accommodations are at the elegant and historic Lodge at Cloudcroft. This is also where you will find the best dining. We have only had breakfast, brunch and lunch here, and understand that dinner is less casual. Lunch at Rebecca's was quite nice. Not the greatest, but quite good. We had the chicken and chile stuffed fried avocado (if that isn't tempting, I don't know what is!), and the Monte Cristo with strawberry sauce. The stuffed fried avocado could have been better, it was a bit peppery (as in Black Pepper), which took away from the green chile taste. But it was different, and good. This dish came with rice pilaf, which I usually don't like because most restaurants make it too flowery and overly spiced with herbs. Rebecca's was just perfect, not overly done. The Monte Cristo was also very good. The sandwich came with waffle fries (and, strangely enough really tasted like waffles...LoL). The service was good, if not a little forced (servers seemed pressed to smile - very forced looking and not natural). But, overall, pretty good and, easily the best dining you will find in the area. I might also add that although I have read reviews that claimed that the food was expensive, it really wasn't expensive AT ALL!! My husband and I dined for lunch for less than $25, with sodas!! If anyone thinks that that is expensive then they dine too much at McDonald's and Taco Bell. Overall, I wouldn't recommend The Lodge or Rebecca's for children. It is an adult resort. They are perfectly accommodating to children, but sometimes its just best to leave the children at home. read more

My husband used to stay here with his family when he was a child, so he brought me up on a big family vacation including extended family. Needless to say, I wanted to go back immediately. Two years later we did and it was great. It's like a home away from home. Very comfortable with super friendly staff. My favorite part was daily breakfasts with the family at Rebecca's and I had an amazing Bananas Foster 'experience' at Dinner one evening at Rebecca's. I personally don't think this beautiful place is haunted, but the story of the ghost is added fun. :) read more

Great historical hotel. The food is very good at Rebecca's. Golf is available. Remember, because the hotel is over 100 years old the rooms are small, along with the bathroom. This will be my third trip. Some may not appreciate stepping back into history. I do. read more

The Lodge was a delightful experience for us. It has been lovingly restored and really is like stepping back in time. Although we stayed for only one night, we found the staff friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The lobby area was beautiful with its roaring fire, chess game, puzzle table and bear. There is even a shelf full of books to read in the comfy chairs by the fire. As others have said, the climb up the stairs to the tower is well worth it for the view. The only meal we ate at Rebecca's was breakfast and it was wonderful. The service was attentive, the food excellent (as a connoisseur of huevos rancheros, this was among the best I've had) and the price reasonable. If you're looking for a modern hotel in a town with a vibrant nightlife, then The Lodge, and Cloudcroft, are not for you. If want a place that is clean, comfortable with lots of history, charm, attentive service and maybe even a friendly ghost, then The Lodge is for you. read more

My husband and I booked a last minute trip to take a break from the heat of Las Cruces. Honestly, we couldn't have been more disappointed. Our "premium" king room on the third floor was exceptionally tiny and cramped. The door wouldn't even open completely without hitting the bed. The room was warm and musty, and the loud air conditioner unit cooled it down eventually, but the smell remained. There was a hole in the ceiling above the window that contained a (non-functioning) light. All the of the lights in the room flickered when used, and the chandelier hung way too low over the bed. And then, there were the moths. Everywhere. The hallways were covered in them, both alive on the walls, and dead littering the carpet; there were many in our room too. In fact, when I got in to take a shower, with laughable water pressure, at three moths flew out of the shower while I was in it. Needless to say, we left feeling disgusted and disappointed. read more

HORRIBLE. This place is equal to a Texas state park facility. I have visited The Lodge several times over the last 50 years and it has been in steady decline. Exterior grounds have dead plants and weeds. Fountain/pond in front is green and dirty. Exterior of hotel has plenty of rotted wood and flakes of missing stucco,etc. INSIDE: Rugs are worn, ceilings have water marks and some caving ceiling tiles, mildew grout in bathroom floor, worn out fixtures, old cheap ceiling fan, beds that cave in the center, rock hard pillows, and I killed over 10 moths(that seemed to be living in the old broken HVAC vents.) That's just some stuff I remembered. GOLF COURSE: dry/dead grass on fairways and some T boxes. This whole place is not being maintained and is falling apart. They say they are remodeling, but it is on a VERY small scale. The place needs A LOT of work. Will not stay there again. The one star earned was for a pleasant desk staff. read more
