Had the best experience at the Crofting inn! Cute, kitschy, and beautifully decorated bed and breakfast that really feels like home. The owners were amazingly friendly, rooms were cozy and warm, and breakfast was perfect. The best part was hanging out with Gayle and the other guest in the morning, truly such a lovely time!! Thanks for a great stay, we will definitely be back

Didn't take a picture of the room we stayed in but it was very clean and also provided hot cocoa, popcorn and bottled waters!

For how close this bed and breakfast is to everything there is to do in Cloudcroft it is very reasonably priced! Very cute and homey!

Stayed here one night and had a good experience. A few silver dollar pancakes and yogurt parfait with fruit were served for breakfast along with coffee. Make sure to contact the property ahead of time to let them know when you are checking in because the front door will be locked and there isn't anyone at the front desk. The rooms are cozy and welcoming like home. All the rooms have a space heater so I would recommend bringing an extra blanket or a sleeping bag if you get cold at night. The room we stayed in didn't have a closet but there was a rack mounted to the wall for hanging your clothes as well as a microwave.

Had an amazing stay here. The room was very comfortable and the bed was amazing! Was served a wonderful breakfast and treated with kindness. They have a wonderful cat on the grounds which I loved petting. Felt more like home. This place does have a ton of decorations but I found it fascinating versus off putting. The whole point of vacation is to experience something different from home. Another plus was it was within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

However, it was a goal to check out the lodge so that I could attest to others on its history. Emily at the front desk was so nice as well as the manager. They allowed me to walk the hotel, have coffee and cookies, take in the historic site and relax. I asked could I see one of the rooms since online the pictures were great and they have kept the original look and feel. the manager said he had step better than a standard room. He handed me a key to look at the Governors suite (see video). I returned the next day after hiking to have lunch and peruse the gift shop. Prices are a little higher, however the food is pretty amazing. I split a burger and chips. Food is great in the bar area. Dinning opens in evening but requires reservations. Pets are allowed for Small fee There is a golf course across the parking lot. Majestic views and well kept greens. don't be surprised but if you find yourself golfing around the deer, elk or wild horses. If you're lucky, you may see snow which makes all that much more beautiful. There is rich history of the lodge hanging in the walls and in areas to read upon. This used to be timber country and the original lodge burned down years and years and years ago. While at the Lodge check out Cloudcroft museum to take in all the history that included the Lodge, baby sanatorium and 1st Calvary visits, where it all started this beautifully small town.

As bird people, we enjoyed seeing so many desert and scrub Jays, woodpeckers galore and the javalinas which came to feast on the foliage each morning. We went too late to see the mid boggling number of hummingbirds that come to the feeders there. Do yourself a favor and pack everything you need. The drive from the highway to the Domes takes 30+ minutes and is on one heck of a windy mountain road. One you get up to them, you'll not want to leave. There are staples in the pantry. But you'll need to bring your own food stuff. I am not very good at "doing nothing" but somehow this place managed to slow me down and allow me the relaxation I really needed. The Domes can accommodate 1 person or 20ish. The beds are comfy and the living space has everything you need . .. except a TV. Join Jasmine and Jim Tritten as they travel south from Corrales down to San Antonio [New Mexico, not Texas], across to Carrizoza, and lunch at the Four Winds Restaurant, then up the hill to Rebeccas's in The Lodge in Cloudcroft. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals at The Lodge, and you will too. Just a short four-hour drive - so you should spend the night. Finally, we breakfasted at Big Daddy's Diner and went back home. Click on the following YouTube link to see our report on these three great dining establishments in our very own New Mexico. All have great food, good service, and settings that made our trip worthwhile. https://youtu.be/cUXFV89Elp0?si=4bhPHQGHgMUg-mu2

We ordered pistachio crusted trout and most of their specials: vegetable de jour (Brussels sprouts) appetizer (Escargot), soup of the day (Green Chicken Chile pazole), and steak de jour (ribeye) with potatoes de jour (steak fries). For dessert, we opted for the raspberry sorbet which was light and satisfying. It's a rustic but very nice, if not luxurious "cabin", although it's furnished like a home! It has 3 bedrooms including a master bedroom with a master bedroom bathroom. One of the rooms has bunk beds which my kid and grand kids loved! The main bathroom has a massive jacuzzi tub! The kitchen is fantastic and includes granite counter tops, a full size stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and it's fully stocked with everything you need to cook. There's even a full size washer & dryer which came in handy! The cabin is furnished with free WiFi, an HD TV, Blu-Ray Player and a small assortment of DVD's. The TV has some smart features including Netflix. The front porch is great. We spent a nice afternoon from the porch watching the rain. The back yard, and deck are wonderful, as they are furnished with a tables, chairs a fantastic hot tub, and BBQ Grill. The fenced back yard is great for the kids to explore and run around. When we were not out and about doing activities in town and the surrounding area, the cabin was a welcome fully furnished get away to relax, enjoy home cooked meals, play cards, watch TV, get in the hot tub, and even sleep. We made some great memories, including a visit from the local deer which come pretty close. On top of all that my granddaughter left a pair of blue jeans behind and they were kind enough to call me and insisted upon mailing them back. Now that's great customer service. I would definitely recommend this cabin. It' a bit of a windy, uphill drive to the cabin, but well worth it.

The management her name is Janice was wonderful. We are not young and spry and was having some altitude problems so we were needing some help to load after 5 wonderful, nights here. She would not accept a cent for helping us just wanted us to comeback again with our 2 dogs and stay. She is awesome and we were so excited to have found someone that in the future when we decide to go back will request Rivers Bend Cabin through Best of Ruidoso. In fact from now on I will only use Best of Ruidoso. After all both of her sons graduated fromTexas Tech!!! Big plus for us Red Raider fans to support other Red Raiders. Again y'all service was wonderful and staff went above and beyond to accommodate everything we needed. Thanks so much Janice.
