I have used this facility for the past 4 years. The facility is really clean and secure. I like my unit and the availability to come in really early and organize my things. When I started my unit was $143 bucks now it over $240 bucks. Every 3 months they increase it. Very few upgrades have happened to this facility since I started. Only new thing is a self-entry key pad got an upgrade. I don't like that there is a constant increase. What I like about this place is that it is close to where I live. I can easily go and get my things and drop stuff off. It is very necessary since I only have two closets. Having the unit makes it super easy to change items out every season. Plus the parking is nice as you can back directly into the garage. Each level is secure. I feel safe in here at all times. Must punch in code to access facility and then punch in code to access elevators. Cameras are located everywhere. Big incentive for women to use this facility because of the security. During office hours, there is always someone on site. Usually 2 office members. Tip: can rent truck for move-in only read more

I had to unexpectedly move to a new city at the end of last year, and I knew I didn't have enough time to schedule moving all of my items long distance to the new city I moved to. It was too stressful so I just researched a bunch of self-storage facilities near my apartment and found this one. They had a deal online for the first few months, so I went to check out the facility and met Monique, the Property Manager there, who was AMAZING. She showed me around and helped me figure out which storage unit was best for my items and really made me feel comfortable and relaxed about storing my items there on such short notice. I don't know what I was expecting, but this storage facility is really clean and well lit and very well protected with codes required to both enter the facility through one of the moving doors and to access the elevator. I felt very safe there and I felt very safe in leaving my items there. And Monique wasn't just amazing when I signed up for a storage unit there, she was amazing all throughout the time I kept my items there if I had any questions. When I finally went to move my items out and onto a long distance moving van, she made the entire process so easy for the movers to get into the building and the exit paperwork was incredibly easy to fill out and take care of too. If you are stressed about moving your items into storage, store them here. Monique and any of the rest of the staff there that I interacted with were incredible helpful and kind. Nice storage facility from what I can tell. Reasonable pricing, on par with other places I called. All units are climate controlled. This location of "The Lock Up" is cheaper than the other ones I looked at. Though the prices on their web site are slightly lower than what they actually charge. They tack on a $10-15 "energy fee" per month (other places I called mentioned something similar). When all is said and done, for a 7.5x10 I pay about $150/mo. But I also don't plan to stay too long, and the second month is free. (First month you pay, second month free, no coupon needed). They give you use of their moving truck to move in. It's supposed to be 3 hour time block, but they let me keep it for the whole day. (Unfortunately due to a series of things that happened I had it but didn't even use it to move anything in...). You just have to replace the gas you use. This place is loaded with pharmaceutical reps...drugs everywhere! Tons of drug freebies in the dumpster. It's a great place to score good moving boxes from the dumpsters too... edit... They never refunded my $250 deposit for the truck and I'm having to go through the long process of filing a chargeback with my credit card company. We had some concern over whether we needed a bigger locker, but wouldn't be sure until we started putting stuff in. Our movers were moving us in after their office was closed, but the manager said there was a larger unit right across from ours and she'd leave it open just in case we wanted to switch to that... then the next day we would just go in and pay the difference and square it away. Well that was a great plan, except the manager completely forgot to unlock the one across from us like she said she would. The one we rented ended up fitting most of our stuff, but it's piled high and things are in odd places they shouldn't be, and I'm sure when we take stuff out there will be broken things... we had to throw a few things out because we just couldn't fit it... a bigger unit would've really helped! too bad she forgot .. :( read more

This is hands down the best storage company in this city! It's clean, convenient and the staff is always so helpful. It isn't 24 hours but does stay open till 9pm. There is always plenty flatbeds to use. I downsized to a smaller unit and was credited the difference for next month. Maria helped to find a unit closest to my pre-existing space so that we could transfer everything over easily. No rodents, no roaches, I never even seen a spider! read more

Is it fair to say that moving can actually be an enjoyable experience? I've never had a move that hasn't been high stress and filled with frustration - Enter The Lock Up on Armitage with Monique at the helm. We needed to find a short term solution to hold some of our goods while we transitioned out of our home and into our next. The facility is clean and extremely well maintained. Also, Monique was amazing - unbelievably pleasant and she walked us through everything we needed to know about the location when we signed up for our unit. This place is Amazing! I've used this storage location for just about a year. The staff members are friendly and very helpful. Storage facilities are excellent, but watch out! They only sign month-to-month contracts and hike rates several times a year. Our last increase was 70%! No negotiating. Recommended only if you're not concerned about the money. read more

I'm a first time storage customer. This was seamless. I expected my Saturday morning rush stop to not go as smoothly but it did. Tia was great! Super fast, nice and very informative. I moved in my ten bins into a 5x5 very clean space. Easy to get to and no problem pulling into the garage and getting a cart. I would recommend them in a minute. When my wife and I were trying to sell our condo, she insisted that I put every single item in our unit with even a shred of personality into storage, so the place would be as appeallingly bland as possible to potential buyers. As you can imagine, I was rather unhappy about this, and couldn't have been in a worse mood when I arrived at the Lock Up. What I never saw coming was the extremly friendly and helpful staff. In a nutshell, they turned my frown upside down -- so much so that I even commented on how nice they were, on the spot. Four or five months later, when I arrived to empty my locker, the woman at the counter knew me by name, even though she had only seen my face maybe three times over the entire duration, and had no idea I'd be coming in. After going to every other storage place within 5 miles of my home, I chose the Lock-Up on Armitage for one main reason alone, the manager Maleeka. Even during my first visit she made me feel right at home. Of course it helped that the place is very clean and you can pull right into the building with the door coming down securely behind you. When I first moved in here I was coming here every week for my work. After a few weeks Maleeka would automatically let me in recognizing my car or even just seeing that it was me in another car so I wouldn't even have to get out of my car to punch in the code. She watches every person who comes in and out of the place, takes care of all their needs, and makes you feel like you are in great hands. I find I look in the office window everytime I come to see if she's working, and if she is, I love stopping in to say hello. Her smile, warmth and energy make something as simple as a storage unit really feel like an extension of your home. My only complaint is how often they raise the prices of your unit, but Maleeka's not the one to blame for that. She's the only reason why I stay there and will stay a customer there. read more

This storage place descriminates against disabled people,I moved out of my apt. by my self even though I had a heart attack and Im disabled from the military,any how after almost ending up in the hospital from moving my stuff in a large cargo van,the new place I was moving to was on the third floor walk up,when I got there my larger items I could not get in my new place,so I told the land lord I was not moving in cause my stuff would not fit through the door so I hade to spend the night in the moving van driving around all night,any how by the next day I had been up for 2 days and barley could move,so when I whent to the lock up I told the lady there Lorena-77329 that I was going to move in my locker extremley slow because I over extended my self moving up and down alot of stairs and could bareley walk at this point plus it was 100 degrees that day,so most of the day she kept calling me on the inter com telling me to hurry up,then she told me I don't care your disabled your going to have to move the van to the street and bring your stuff in from there,I told her I could bareley walk and since Im a paying customer I would not move the van out of the loading dock till all my stuff was in my locker,there was a 18 wheeler taking up the whole second bay so she kept herrasing me,till she had some male employee try to physically attack me,then he tryed to tell me he was a customer and not a employee even though I see him all the time there he never is moving stuff and does not have a car in the bay ,when I go to my locker 3 or 5 times a week,and every time I go there he gives me the finger.any how then Lorena-ID77329 tells me that her and the manager are close friends so she(the manager Maleeka) will not do a thing,well shure enough the manager just laughed at me.Ive been a customer on and off for 15 years and never been treated so horribly with out reguard to my medical situation,plus that day was near 100 degrees.Not recommended. Malika was on vacation and had nothing to do with the situation,Malika has allway been nice a gone the extra mile to help her customers out,thanks for being a quality employee of the lock up. read more
