I called ahead to make sure that they had gluten free options. I was told they did. I was disappointed as theGF bun cost more (not told this by the person on the phone) and contained eggs which I can't eat. The has another option, "lettuce wrap" which turned out to be a hamburger patty with a small piece of lettuce on top of the patty, definitely NOT a wrap or even close. There was no substitution offered since we could not have the french fries due to a common frier (not GF) nor was there a discount in price. I asked about substituting a salad and was told we could pay an additional $2.50 for the salad (the same thing anyone would pay who got a meal with the fries). My guest was charged $1 for a tiny slice of avocado (about 1/4 inch thick which as turning brown and hard as a rock). The bill for a thin, greasy, hamburger patty and a piece of lettuce was $8.75 each, plus the $1 for the avocado. Highway robbery! Prior to ordering, we had a conversation with the waitress about the food restrictions due to severe food allergies. She said she understood because her brother had celiac disease and that the restaurant was able to accommodate our needs, which they didn't. Both of us were later VERY ill with symptoms conducive to being exposed to gluten. The "clean" napkins on the table in the caddy had what appeared to be ketchup spots on them. There were fruit flies flying around us during our meal and I found a dead one on my plate next to my "lettuce wrap burger." I do NOT recommend this establishment as a safe place for those with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, or any other food allergies. They really are NOT gluten-free and the options they offer touting "gluten-free" fall short of the descriptions. Do not take the risk. It is NOT worth it. read more

Zero stars if I could. Finally made an account after years of lurking yelp* for others reviews because of this business. Why let multiple other websites list you as dog friendly, with no notation of seasonality mentioned, when you are not always dog friendly? Why have tables set up on the sidewalk in front of your establishment only to tell people on a rare warm and sunny spring day that you are not serving the outside tables? Want to have outside dining seasonally only? Okay. No problem. A lot of places do that. But then REMOVE the tables from in front of your business during the months when you are not serving them. You know...like every other restaurant does. And tell all those websites you are listed with as a dog friendly establishment that you are friendly only part of the time. And which part of the time that may be. Went across the street to Nick's, who happily served us at their outside tables. Dogs and all despite not even being listed on those websites. Won't be back. No second chances for a business whose employee wasn't even apologetic and physically shrugged when told they were losing actual business. Won't recommend, either. Will tell anyone who will listen this story. And don't let my location fool you; I am no random out-of-towner who will never be back anyways. I routinely work in the area in a customer service heavy occupation. The vast majority of people I will be sharing my story with in person *will* be your friends and neighbors, TLC. read more

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Gresham, heck we moved to Beaverton for a year, I even told my wife I couldn't wait to move to Troutdale so I'd be closer to the Local Cow. If you like a black and bleu burger (bleu cheese for those of you who aren't addicts YET), they have the BEST bleu cheese burger called the Fort Stevens. You need to get "Local Cow Fries" - don't play around with the regular ones, they're no where close to the Local Cow Fries, which is basically like going animal style at In-&-Out. They have an awesome outdoor seating area and access to adult beverages from the bar next door, so take a date or your buddies and enjoy! Just make sure you plan some gym time afterwards because you're going to leave fat and happy! PS. There's a huge parking lot just west of main street off 5th. The walk is about 2 mins. read more

My family was looking for someplace new and we heard this was a good place. We came in on Sunday night. The burgers were overcooked and dry. The service was good but the main issue was how loud the kitchen cooks were. My 10 year old daughter had to go to the bathroom during dinner and comes back and asks us what a pedophile was. My wife and I were flabbergasted and asked where she heard that. She said the small redhead cook. We asked what did he say and she said that if he could get away with being a pedophile his life would be great. He also added he would love for his girlfriend to tape it. To say the least we will never be coming back and won't be recommending it to anybody we know. read more

I have now eaten here a few times but the last visit was the best. The place was packed and the staff was very friendly. I was with a group of 4, and 2 of them we're boys from the local little league baseball. We all ordered a table full of food and it looked amazing! I ordered the Pendleton and was not disappointed. Mouth watering, juicy and craving another. The onion rings on it were cooked perfect and I was stuffed....with the rosemary fries, and extra sliders that the chef himself brought to the table. The beer selection is great, the staff is wonderful and the place comfortable. I will be bringing my staff, friends and family all here to check it out! Thanks guys! Cheers read more

Our kids LOVE this place!!! Unfortunately for me I had given up Meat right before they opened, however I have yet to be disappointed. They have simply AMAZING Rosemary, Garlic, Parmesan Truffle Oil fries, their Portlandia (Black Bean/QuiNoa Burger) is DELICIOUS! Guacamole & Salsa is Freshly made and soooo Good! The atmosphere is friendly and I love that I have a place to come and enjoy great food with my kids. I have a child with special needs and they are great at accommodating us even when she pulls my beer over and spills it everywhere. Look forward to spending many more meals at The Local Cow! read more

My first impression was that this is not a very big burger for 9$ My second impression was Holy Crap! That's one of the best hamburgers I have ever tasted in my life. I had the teriyaki burger with fries as a special for less than 10$ and left feeling full and very pleased. As a meat-a-terian, I have grown to understand that where your meat comes from and how it is prepared are very important. The local cow gets that and I am glad to have them in Gresham. The prices are very comparable toa burger you would get at red robin or applebys and the food is SO MUCH BETTER! read more

Good food, but terrible management. My brother worked his ass off, came in early, stayed late, actually did all his work, covered shifts, and rarely asked for time off. His co-workers couldn't work for shit and he constantly had to pick up their slack, while getting in trouble for other peoples lack of effort. He walked into work the other day and he was told to leave and not come back, for no reason. These dudes need to stop smoking so much weed at work and actually recognize when they have a valuable employee...shit hole managers read more

Best freaking burgers anywhere in town. I don't say that lightly... I'm like a hamburger nazi. It better be fantastic or I won't be back. This place KILLS IT! and for a special treat, try the Salchichas Y Papas! a HUGE bowl of fries with fried peppers and sausage slices... drizzled with a chipotle mayo sauce. They might as well just call them heaven! Mmmm!! read more

I've tried pretty much every burger there and thought they were all very good. I finally got around to trying the Hawaii 503 burger one day. Since then, I have been back for the same burger at least once a week for the last few months. I don't know how but I swear it gets better each and every time I get it. Thank you local cow for serving quality meat! read more

Wouldn't let us dine inside or outside despite spending over $30 on their food because my 6 year old daughter was holding a Burgerville bag.....so the nice joint next door let us purchase a drink to sit on their patio set instead‍ The food was delicious but what a silly ridiculous rule to apply to paying customers. read more

I had given up on this place ever being open when they say they are. I just happened to be walking by when I saw it was open. The food tasted good. I have some complaints but im pretty picky and it would be petty for me to list them. I would go back if I was in the area but I wouldnt make a special trip. read more

The service is wonderful and the burgers and fries are hand patted and cut for sure!! Flavors were really nice. Ive been a few times now and only once was I a lil dissappointed (surprized me), I will go back!!! Prices are a bit spendy but the quality of the product is very nice!!! read more

My server was nice but she definitely didn't go out of way, anyways the burgers are okay, they are nicely seasoned and the basil parm fries were way too much. But the ice tea was amazing and it was very fresh. So would i go back? Maybe if i wanted a nice ice tea. read more

Been going here for amazing burgers for over a year. Each time the ambiance has been relaxing and enjoyable. The one time the food was not as good (due to new cooks) the customer service was outstanding and the manager went out of her way to make things right. read more

My family recommended that I see Cheri S. at Honda for great service and help to get a car. They were right, I got the suv I was wanting at a great price. The staff there is wonderful. I will go there first when I'm ready for my next car. Thank you! read more

The meat is good. But I wish they knew how to season the burgers and cook them correctly. The burgers were well done and kind of dry. Plus I got bored of the taste quickly. I guess it's the best burgers in the area but that's not saying much. read more
