Their website doesn't lie, they truly do make incredible burgers, you really can taste how fresh the meat they use is. I will say the patties are smaller because of this, so if you are looking for a thick burger this isn't the place. Sadly due to the lay out of the restaurant their kitchen is TINY which means when they inevitably get busy on the weekend, service is SLOW. I would recommend going during the week, it took us 45-50 minutes to get our burger after ordering. Over all good burger, the price is high but that's because the quality of meat is better. I came in on a weekend. I ordered a burger with guacamole and fried banana peppers. I upgraded my fries to the Cajun style. I have no idea what sorcery occurs behind that counter, but before I knew it I had eaten everything on my plate. The local cow is a local hang out. It shares a common area with Hoppy Brewary and during the sunny days of Oregon provides a nice escape for the lunch time rush with time for a fine brew. The Burgers are plentiful. So, many combinations its almost hard to choose from. The menu includes sliders and sandwiches and salads. Every burger has been delicious and you can watch them cook if you so desire as the kitchen is open and there is space to sit at the bar. The confines of the restaurant itself are crowded. They seem to be busting at the seems. A sign of the good food. I have had many trips here and have never been disappointed in the food when it finally reached my table. There is a little confusion at least in my mind as to what type of restaurant it is. They have waitresses but they also take your order at the counter. I guess you clear it up once you are here more than once as you quickly learn. Waiting for a waitress to treat you like it is a sit down cafe will result in a longer wait for you. All of this makes it seem like a longer time for you to receive your food and then even longer to get your bill. Turnover does not seem to be the goal here. This would be a good thing if the seating area was large. Unfortunately, its not. Go for the food. Be ready to wait. The wait is worth it. Sometimes your just in a little bit of a hurry so my advice would be to call in your order and pick it up. You can still eat outside in the veranda on a nice summer day. Everyone has their version of what they interpret as the internet. A lot of this can vary on the type of sites they regularly go on, type of internet searches they do, and how their social media is built up around them. For me the internet has been bestowing me with plugs of a restaurant that just opened up called the "Local Cow". A lot of my friends on Facebook have been plugging this establishment for months now before it had even opened up. So curiosity killed that cat and I just had to see what the hype about this place is all about. What the Local Cow is proud claim here is that they utilize local products from Oregon. Their beef is source verified beef cattle from Eugene Oregon. They are selected from a ONM Program and high quality ration of upcycled brewer's grain from local breweries and contain no added hormones, antibiotics, and utilize sustainable and humane systems. Some of their other local resources are from Grand Central Bakery, Portland French Bakery, Carlton Farms, Draper Valley Farms, Otto's Sausage and cheeses, Tillamook Cheese Factory, Umpqua Dairy and Rogue Creamery. I arrived this evening and was seated immediately with a menu to peruse. Its a very simple menu but lots of gourmet items that will entice your palate. This evening I ordered the Rockwood, which contains, crispy fried peppers, habanero jack cheese, chipotle mayo, guacamole, on a Toasted Brioche bun. I ordered this with a side of the Loco Cow Fries. In addition to this order I partake in a PBR and happily waited for dinner while people watching and enjoying the decor this restaurant has to offer. I received my meal promptly and at first I was a bit surprised by the size of the burger. Not for its gigantic size but for how small it was. I was a little concerned at first but after consuming their amazing Loco Cow Fries which is made up of their house cut fries with Parmesan, rosemary, garlic, and black truffle oil I was blown away by the flavor. Taking my first initial bite of my burger and I was quickly drawn in by a flavor explosion of the crispy fried peppers, habanero jack cheese, chipotle mayo, and guacamole that seemed to accentuate a perfectly cooked hamburger patty that was still pink and juicy. I devoured this burger with a quickness. Good things really do come in small packages! Still longing for more I choose to wait for another trip back here to this quaint local burger shop to shatter my cravings for the Local Cow. If you appreciate the art that is the burger, my suggestion to you is to make the trek out here to Gresham to partake in this amazing establishment. Happy Eating Everyone! read more

I love idea behind this place... fresh local ingredients, it's in an easily accessible location, the menu looks amazing too. Unfortunately the service is so horrible, I would honestly rather go to wendy's for a burger instead. My husband had the hog offense, I had the pendelton. He said he really liked the pulled pork. He liked it a lot. My food was good... nothing earth shattering. If the staff wasn't so snooty and rude I'd actually want to come back because my husbands food looked amazing (I wanted to try it but he scarfed it down before I could ask for a bite) and the table near us ordered rosemary fries that smelled amazing! I'm on the fence as to whether I should rate this restaurant a 3 or 4. We came for burgers and my $7.50 burger rated a 3. It was good, but not something I would drive all the way back to Gresham for. I had no idea there were pockets in that part of town that consist of darling shops and great restaurants! Let's get back to the fries though. They are $7 but can be shared 3 ways. No, I'm not being a perv. The order is just that big! Again, get your mind out of the gutter! We were advised by our server to dig to the bottom of the heap, because underneath is where they hide the bleu cheese dip. The top side is loaded with crumbled blue cheese, garlic, tomatoes, bacon and onions. It was like a french fry nacho. Pure bliss if you aren't counting calories. As for the decor, I didn't get a good look, because we ate outside in the sunshine. I did however; notice a flat screen TV - that some customers were playing video games on. Parking in the area is free and there's a pub right next door & a gourmet candy shop past that. How great is that?! YUM! We had the El Chupacabra burger. My husband and I shared. It was enough for 2! WE added on fries for $1. $10 for 2 people to eat!!! Wait - What??? $10 for 2 people - YUP...that's what I said!!! While I think FRIES should be included for the price of a burger here, I also feel like I got what I paid for. The staff was friendly and pretty darn fast. The experience was enhanced by the "Beer Garden" outdoor seating area (FYI: NO KIDS ALLOWED IN THIS AREA). You can order food from The Local Cow... Order beer from The Hoppy Brewer... AND... you get to eat in the "Beer Garden" in the middle!! It is a perfect marriage!!!! AND AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!!! I find it silly that people complain about the "LEMON not being served in their water....AND...my burger was burned because I didn't make ANY EFFORT ON MY PART to catch ANY WAIT-STAFF in time to tell them I wanted a medium-rare cook on my MOO!"...Seriously people - rate the place on the food (which is locally sourced, organic and/or sustainable!!!! I have two things to say to you that are of utter (no pun intended) importance - Truffle Fries with garlic, parm and rosemary & The Rockwell. Dear-effing-GOD. I dont know what that sauce is that they give you with the fries, but I want to make love to it. Nice burger place located in the busy part of Gresham. First the decor, I love the old high school year books left out to view while you wait. The seating, dinning lobby are tidy and furnished as a modern style diner. The bathrooms were behind a wall of kegs beer barrels and leads out to the ally. Next service, the wait for the food was satisfactory, but I expected a little bit faster for diner food. The waitress courteous and helpful when picking out a burger. Finally the food, I got the "El Chupacabra" (House made pimento cheese, bacon, roasted jalapenos and "goat slayer sauce") which was cooked excellent served on a brioche style bun. Came in with family, and ordered myself a monstrous sandwich served between two grilled cheese sandwiches. I forget the name, but it was enormous. Sadly the flavor wasn't quite what I was hoping for. It mostly just felt like I was eating nothing but bacon, cheese, and burger. Which isn't a bad thing, but for such a large burger the taste eventually gets repetitive and boring. The atmosphere was dim and pleasant. They serve a wide variety of brews, and have lots of things on the walls to occupy wandering eyes. The food is very good, despite my burger being monotonous, and it was a good time for family. The price point isn't cheap, though. You'll be spending a fair amount to eat here. I really, really want to like this place. Everything looks delicious, the atmosphere is inviting and it just seems like a place I would really enjoy. I have been here 3 times now and I have yet to be blown away. Let me rephrase that- I have yet to be even close to blown away. The burgers are good but not great. Same goes for the fries. However the most disappointing part about my experiences have been the service. The first couple times the service wasn't horrible but definitely far from great. Yesterday however it lacked big time. It was busy I give them that but everything just seemed disorganized and our server was full of excuses. First off, there was a wait.. which is fine. You have to check yourself in on a piece of paper that sits near the front. We wrote our name in and sat on the couch. No one ever greeted us or even bothered to acknowledge us. A table left and after about 5 minutes was cleared. We continued to sit and wait until we finally just decided to go seat ourselves at the table. Never did they check their "check-in" sheet after it the table cleared. We sat for a few minutes before grabbing a couple menus for ourself and our son. He was starting to get a little impatient so we thought we would speed up the process. Water was brought for my wife and I and our order was taken in a reasonable time. We realized she hadn't brought a kid's cup of water for our son so we tried flagging her down a few times but our waitress was hustling around. Our appetizer fries finally arrived after about 20 minutes. At this point we finally were able to request a water for our son. The waitress (a different one at this point) took note and also said she would be right back with some plates for our fries/ketchup. The water nor the plates never made it to the table. After eating our fries for a bit our son asked for apple juice. We got our original waitresses attention and made the request. It took at least 10 minutes for the apple juice to arrive. At last our food arrived (Or, atleast part of it). The waitresses quickly dropped off mine and my wife's food and scurried off quickly. We assumed she was coming right back with our sons. After a few minutes we realized it wasn't coming. It took us a while to flag her down. When we asked if it was coming she immediately blamed it on the cooks and that they were being super slow that night. I am not a fan of when servers play the blame game. She dropped our food off so obviously she had the chance to realize part of the order was missing. It was an obvious mistake of her own. Even if the cooks missed it on the tickets it should've been noticed or noted when she dropped off our plates. She walked over to one of the cooks and we could tell it had even not been started. We ate our food and were completely finished before she came back to our table. At this point I said we would just skip out on the kid's burger but she insisted that it was already being cooked even before we had asked about it. She went on to tell us that it would only be "2 more seconds". She disappeared again and came back to take some orders. At least 10 minutes, if not longer, the kid's burger finally arrived. We asked for a box and the check. She did void the kid's meal which I would expect. Overall she seemed to be a nice young lady but the whole place was just very unorganized. In the end I would probably not give this place a fourth try which is too bad because it seems like a place I would enjoy and is right by our house. Oh well. read more

OK so the food is amazing here but there's this one older waitress Who is quite probably the rudest person in Gresham. She yelled at us for sitting at "dirty table ". She was so loud that the people next to us commented about how rude she was.
