    Mocha

I ordered a mocha. It was delicious. The service was delicious as well. The atmosphere was sparse albeit tasteful. 5 easy stars. Just came for the second time. Terrific.

Aww this is a GREAT wee place! There's always folk in it, but I'm surprised it's not super busy all the time, as the food is great, and the staff are lovely. We've had pizzas from here and they are fantastic pizzas. There's a really good range of toppings, and they have deal of £12 for 2 pizzas to go, Tues to Sun, 4pm - 8pm. That's a fantastic deal! The dough is lovely (and vegan friendly). There are also ranges of ciabatta, bruschetta, salads, anti-pasti and sides. And they have raw vegan desserts! I couldn't quite believe my luck when I noticed that! It's such a great location too - right opposite the Kelvingrove Art Galleries, you can sit in or take-away and they also deliver. Not that I really know much about it, but this seems like a genuine, authentic, little Italian cafe.

Why is it in a bowl?! Chicken pesto and mozzarella panini
    Gordon M.

Popped in to grab a quick coffee and was tempted by the menu to order a chicken pesto panini (the king of all panini!). It's a small place, unsurprisingly, and as I took a seat at one of the window booths I realised that not only did it look small, it's not the best for those of us who are 'larger than average'. I shuffled the table and wiggled my way in, but it's pretty snug so be warned! My latte turned up promptly and was a little bitter for my taste, but I've had worse, and it wasn't long before my panini showed up, in a bowl. This confused me a little, whilst it was a perfectly good bowl, why put a toasted sandwich in a bowl? The panini itself was ok, not much of a pesto flavour, and the mozzarella was one big chunk in the middle, so became a little bit rubbery after being toasted, all in all it was edible but a bit bland. Price wise I can't complain, it was cheap, the staff are friendly and it was certainly busy enough, maybe I just caught them on a bad day? Not sure I'd rush back though.

Post-workout meal: lentil soup and chicken sun blush tomato panini

Sundays have become a different kind of Sunday Funday... that is if you like working out, when Sundays are normally spent larding out before the Monday grind begins. When the weather isn't complete crap, the boyfriend and I workout with our awesome trainer in Kelvingrove Park. If you're like us, you tend to sleep in on Sundays... which left us no time for a proper breakfast, and ravenous after our intense training session. Yikes. So hungry and desperate for food, we walked along Argyle towards home and came across The Little Cafe. We've actually walked past this place a number of times, but some reason or another never stopped in. But this time was different. We saw their lunch special of a soup and panini for £4.95... you really can't beat that! The cafe is really clean and modern, with cool photographs on the walls. Booths line the large open windows looking out onto Argyle Street and the Kelvingrove Museum. The service was great, and food really fresh and tasty. It was lentil soup that day, and we both got variations of chicken sandwiches. The atmosphere was really relaxed and a nice way to spend a few moments chilling with your hunny on a Sunday morning after an intense training session. Bottom line: good, fresh, friendly, affordable and tasty! We'll be back after more training sessions in the park.

Chicken Pesto and Mozarella ciabatta with Lentil and Carrot soup and a good book for lunch.

Lovely little cafe with beautiful views of the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum: quiet, light and airy atmosphere, easy to find, with free Wifi! I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch--Chicken Pest and Mozzarella ciabatta with soup deal for £5!--and coffee over a good book on a "me-time" afternoon. Highly recommend it.

Pizza is definitely the food trend of 2016 and another pizzeria opening means a happy Rocco G :)…read more I had virtually no expectations for Baffo appart from the fact that they had a very cool name (meaning moustache in English). Inside, the restaurant is modern and vibrant and i noticed a very nice wood burning oven at the back which is key to a good pizza. Its probably not fair to compare Baffo to Paesano as the types of pizza they prepare are rather different. While Paesano do a classic Neapolitan style pizza, which is wonderfully soft and doughy, Baffo's is crispier, drier and with a mucher thinner crust. Therefore for people who dont like the former they may enjoy Baffo more. My visit to Baffo was a bit mixed. Service was really slow but the staff were nice and attentive which made the wait a bit easier. When my pizza arrived, I enjoyed the flavours but felt it was a little dry and over cooked. The ingredients were of good quality and so I think there is real potential here. Another positive is the selection of Italians craft beers, perfect with a pizza! I ended my meal with a tiramisu and must say it was exceptional. The perfect balance of espresso, booze and biscuit, yummy!! As Baffo is a relatively new place, its surely only going to get better. Really look forward to getting back there soon once everyone has settled in.

I have been there twice and now I can confirm, I am a fan!…read more Lovely interior and decoration, the restaurant is not as big as i expected but still comfortable enough. Staff is very friendly and attentive, but I found service a bit slow both times i visited - maybe i shouldn't compare it to Paesano Pizza since they got more than one wood fire oven, but we waited for our pizza around 20 minutes, and also sides (first time we had fries and croquette, and last time just fries) took quite a bit to be served. That was my only issue, but i guess they just opened few months ago and they still need to "get it right", if you know what i mean. Pizza is really good, not the Neapolitan kind of pizza with big bready crust (Paesano style), but the traditional Italian one - thin and crispy. They have a bigger selection compared to Paesano, and also offered the option to go for either 12inch round pizza or hald metre pizza. I have only tried the 12inch one for now, but will definitely give the other one a go next time! They also serve pasta dishes, seen them a few and they look tasty - maybe will try that as well sooner or later! Dessert wise, i tried their cannoli and yummy, it was amazing, and also affogato was okay and really nice presented. Overall, nice place, good to have another great pizza place in Glasgow, especially in the West End!

Had the Goth ice cream which a black coconut ice cream With Jäegermeister syrup black sprinkles and wafer .Coconut creamy meets chocolate bitters and orange citrus . The syrup they use is sweet and thick and adds another dimensions of texture to this already complex up desert . Absolutely fabulous . I will definitely be back to try their buckfast shake . --- Came back the next day because I wanted to get their extremely limited goth dessert again which they were sold out of . Sad . But at least I had the chance to take advantage of their £4 Tuesday burger meal deal . I added caramelized onions for an extra pound but would recommend springing for the cheddar cheese or bacon for an extra £2 which is still a good deal ! As the the taste ? It's £4 burger with fries . No complaints ! As for the buckfast shake ...what an interesting concoction . It's strong ...I can only imagine what having straight buckfast would be like ..I'm glad my first time was in shake form as I'm sure the cream and milk toned down the alcohol and sharpness a lot . The overall flavor really grows on you . It reminds me of like a Neapolitan shake ( heavy on the chocolate and strawberry and no vanilla ice cream ) with a crap ton of added fermented strawberries and maraschino cherries and maraschino cherry syrup . If I was the chef I'd tweak this by adding a rum flambé banana slice or just banana in general would be so nice . I like this place a lot and would low key love to be a business partner or be able up a similar place in the States . Definitely a gem in Glasgow.

The choice was between a more traditional Italian restaurant and Pizza Punks which had a little more of the grit and industrial nature that we associate Glasgow with. The reason for the low review is the pizza took an hour to arrive. We were excited to start the meal but around 30 minutes of waiting it started getting awkward and when we looked around at other tables that were there before us we also noticed them looking around for their food. It took so long some people started leaving and the only reason this is not a 1 star review is staff was very good and kept apologizing. They did knock off 10 percent off the bill which we really appreciated but we would have left if they told us at the beginning the kitchen was very far behind. The pizzas tasted OK, but we were also very very hungry by the time it came. I would have ordered more food but were terrified it would take too long so we left still hungry. Interior is very nice and surprisingly large. They had a DJ in the front room and a professional photographer was also there when we ate shooting the interior. I was expecting it to be much better especially with many positive reviews. I thought it would also have improved over time and would have a better menu. I only came here as a friend was celebrating his birthday and chose here as he and his wife had been before and there was also a quiz on. Alas for me it was to be another disappointing visit and a menu with hardly anything I could choose from. It wasn't really Italian as I thought apart from the pizzas I suppose, which I don't like. I ended up choosing a side of triple cooked chips. I went to the bar and ordered the chips (£3) and also a pint of coke and I was charged £7.40. £7 bleeding 40????!!!!!!! Good grief! £4.40 for a coke? I had to speak to the girl again and ask how much for a pint of coke and she realised she had overcharged me. After she struggled with the till I eventually got my money back. She apologised and said my chips would be with me soon. So I waited and waited and waited, after about 30 minutes and other customers around me who arrived after me had be served, I went back to the bar and found the girl who served me and she was very embarrassed and apologetic. So after 45 minutes I eventually got my bowl of chips. The girl fortunately came over and gave me my money back. The last time they didn't charge us because the food was awful. So I started tucking in, as I was starving, and accompanied with my chips was mayonnaise. I thought everything was ok but before I finished I developed a very sore stomach thereafter I became extremely ill. I became very familiar with the toilet after several visits. The toliet was awful which didn't help. On one occassion the only cubicle that was available didn't have a light and no light could get in as there was no usual gap at either top or bottom of the door. Argh! After my two bad experiences I don't think I'll be in a hurry to come back. Sadly I had to cut the night short, miss out on the rest of the quiz and just get home to my bed. I ended up being ill for two days. It might be others cup of tea but unfortunately it's not for me.

This little takeaway literally popped up near my flat out of nowhere. Now I have to walk past a delicious pizza place every darn day and somehow try and stop myself from entering! This is going to be a real test of grit seeing as Lamora's pizzas are mighty fine. One of the key things about a good pizza (I reckon) is the dough and their dough is wonderfully soft and light, but with a slight crisp, just how I like it. They have a wide range of good quality toppings and even do my favourite pizza which consists of Tuna and onion. It may sound wrong but it's a total Italian classic, showing that these guys know their stuff. If pizza's not your thing (amazingly there are plenty of people who are averse to it, shock horror!), Lamora have daily soup specials, pastas and focaccias. I've tried their minestrone and it was really hearty, flavorsome and rammed full of delicious vegetables. This along with a garlic and rosemary focaccia for £5.50 this is a meal not to be sniffed at. Simply great value for money. Lamora is a wee breath of fresh air in this part of Charing Cross. Being the only real takeaway in the area it serves up fine pizzas from lunchtime until late and has a very cool and fresh vibe that means it would not look out of place in a hipster area like Finnieston. Although predominantly a takeaway, there are a good 4 or 5 tables which means you can sit in if you like. Most pizzas are priced around the £8 mark which again is excellent value considering the size and quality. This is definitely my favourite pizza takeaway in Glasgow and I'm pretty chuffed to have it soo nearby!
