I moved in February 2026 and intentionally waited to write this review. Every new building has its ups and downs, and I wanted to give the community enough time to see how management handles situations and addresses unexpected issues. Let's start with the areas that could use some improvement. The rooftop has a large TV screen for residents to enjoy, but unfortunately, it has been broken since I moved in. I've been told several times that it would be repaired, but it still hasn't been fixed. My previous building, Radian, also had an outdoor screen, and when it stopped working, it was repaired within a couple of weeks. So, I know these types of issues can be resolved relatively quickly. The second area I would like to see improved is the cleaning of the common areas. In my experience living in other luxury apartment communities, the floors and shared spaces were cleaned at least every other day. More consistent cleaning would help maintain the overall appearance and experience of the building. Aside from those two things, I really don't have any major complaints. Any other issues I've experienced have been addressed and resolved within a couple of days, which I really appreciate. Now for what makes this building truly special: the people who work here. The leasing team is always friendly, welcoming, and willing to help whenever they can. They strike the perfect balance with residents--friendly enough to make you feel like part of the community without ever being intrusive. The concierge team is also in a league of its own. Triana, in particular, has gone above and beyond for me on countless occasions. He consistently goes beyond what is expected of him, remembers my guests, and greets them as warmly as he greets me. Whenever I experience even the smallest inconvenience, he is quick to step in and help. Overall, The Lindley is an amazing place to live. While there are a couple of areas where I think improvements could be made, the exceptional staff and the sense of community truly make this place feel like home. I'm genuinely happy to call The Lindley my home. read more

Two stars. Calling this "luxury" feels like false advertising with a rooftop. Maybe if this is your first "luxury" building, you'll be impressed. Maybe if you just moved to San Diego and vinyl floors, a high floor and a polished leasing tour scream luxury to you, congratulations -- you may have found your dream home. This place feels like it was designed specifically for transplants who moved to San Diego five minutes ago and haven't figured out what they're paying for yet. Seriously, ask your neighbor if they're actually from San Diego. I'm starting to think the answer is probably no. If you're actually from here, know this market, and know what premium California rent is supposed to buy, the disappointment sets in quickly. And please, during the tour, TOUCH THINGS. The cabinets feel cheap and flimsy. The flooring isn't hardwood -- it's vinyl. Once the leasing-tour lighting wears off, you start wondering exactly which part of the apartment warranted the luxury adjective. A view and a rooftop do not magically turn cheap finishes into luxury. And concierge? An entire experience of its own. The eye rolls, dismissive attitude and general air that residents are inconveniencing the person sitting at the front desk would almost be funny if residents weren't paying thousands of dollars every month to live here. You represent the FRONT LOBBY of a supposedly luxury building. Basic professionalism isn't an optional amenity. I pay my rent. I'm not paying your salary separately. Act accordingly. And despite all that attitude, I've had packages disappear multiple times. Amazon probably thinks I'm running an organized refund operation at this point. Amazon, babe, it's not me. It's the building. Then there's the pool. I laid down to tan and ended up with actual shards of broken glass puncturing my skin. Management came outside, saw what happened and asked if I was okay. I followed up afterward by email. No response. Nothing says luxury management quite like "Are you okay?" followed by complete radio silence. And prospective residents should know that there is literally a HOTEL operating inside this supposedly luxury residential building and sharing amenities. I have no idea whether the broken glass came from a resident, hotel guest or someone else. I just know checking a pool lounger for glass before putting my body on it wasn't included in the leasing presentation. Then there are the elevators, which seem to maintain their own work-life balance. And if you enjoy sleeping, good luck with the surrounding construction. I've dealt with construction noise outside my bedroom while another building has gone up and affected my view. Obviously management doesn't control every construction project happening downtown, but it certainly adds another layer of comedy when you're already questioning exactly what you're paying a premium for. New management has done absolutely nothing to improve my opinion of this place. Communication and follow-through have been disappointing, and judging by the resident group chat, dissatisfaction with the building isn't exactly a niche hobby. Prospective residents: research Greystar yourself. Don't rely on a beautiful leasing tour, and don't rely solely on this review either. Read reviews. Read public records. Research the company. Then make your own decision. Luxury isn't an adjective you slap on a listing because the building is tall. Luxury is quality. Luxury is service. Luxury is security. Luxury is professionalism. Luxury is feeling comfortable in the home you pay a substantial amount of money for. This building charges for the word and delivers the aesthetic. If you're a transplant who just wants to say you live in a downtown San Diego "luxury high-rise," perhaps you'll be perfectly happy. If you actually know San Diego and know what genuine high-end living feels like, shop around. Save yourself the gorgeous tour and subsequent character development. Two stars. One for my apartment. One for the view I have. Concierge and management can fight over who earned neither. read more

This building markets itself as "luxury," but going on 11 days without hot water, impacting multiple floors, says otherwise. Management has provided no real updates beyond repeated "2-3 day" estimates that clearly haven't been accurate. Hot water is a basic necessity, not a luxury. The lack of urgency, communication, and resolution has been incredibly disappointing. Being told to use shared facilities while paying full rent is not acceptable. Elevator outages have also been frequent since I moved in, with wait times up to 30 minutes or having to take the stairs (including with groceries/luggage), which is unreasonable in a high-rise building. I live on a floor in the 20s so it's not as simple as going up a few flights. The only positive is the front desk concierge team, who have consistently been great. If this is "luxury" living, I would strongly reconsider. read more

Gladi, the concierge at The Lindley in San Diego, is incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. She always greets us warmly with a "good morning" or "good afternoon," which makes us feel so welcome. She is always ready to assist with whatever we need, including retrieving packages from the package concierge area. Her kindness, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond make our experience so much easier. Thank you, Gladi, for your outstanding service! read more

Veronica was amazing to work with throughout the entire leasing process! She was always quick to respond, answered all of my questions, and made everything feel so easy from start to finish. Moving can be stressful, but she really helped make the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The building itself is beautiful, well maintained, and has such a welcoming feel. I'm really excited to be living here and appreciate how easy Veronica made everything along the way. read more

The property itself is stunning. I mean truly breathtaking - the kind of place you're excited to show visitors. The views, the design, the common spaces are genuinely impressive. The bones of this building are exceptional, and the cleaning staff and concierge team are friendly and do their best to help residents. But the management (Greystar/Toll Brothers) has serious problems with amenity maintenance and follow-through. I moved here in March 2025, specifically for the heated pool and cold plunge, which I need for a medical condition. The cold plunge has been out of service since June 2025 (8 months). The pool heater has been broken since October 2025 (4 months). Both remain advertised on the website. Despite requesting a reasonable accommodation in November 2025, it took until February 2026 and a threat to file a federal complaint for management to respond. By then, I'd already paid $230+monthly dues in outside gym costs to access the aquatic amenities I'm paying for in my rent. But here's the rub: when management finally offered accommodation in February (original request in November), it was access to a sister property 0.6 miles away with no parking. A 30-minute roundtrip walk for someone with a medical condition requiring aquatic exercise? By then, I'd already joined a gym 3 blocks away. Too little, too late. Other recent reviews mention similar amenity issues. This appears to be a pattern, not a one-time maintenance problem. I've filed Fair Housing complaints with HUD and CCRD. As of February 2026, no repair timeline has been provided for either amenity. Bottom line: Beautiful building, friendly staff, but management doesn't maintain what they advertise. If you're considering this property for specific amenities, get written confirmation they're currently functional before signing. The luxury branding doesn't guarantee luxury follow-through. read more

Surprised by some of the reviews, because this place is great. It started with a call with Tony and right through touring & signing with Jen all was really smooth. The facilities are top notch -both 7th and 37th floors- and I am frequently impressed by how thorough the cleaning staff is. In fact, I just left my iPad in the massage room and realized my mistake a mere 5 minutes later. I was in a panic but housekeeping had already discovered it and brought it to the second floor desk. Amazing. Yes, things break, but that happens irl. The key here is they alert us to the problems and seem to be immediately on top of things. Parking is great too and I LOVE that they throw the occasional rooftop event. Highly recommend! read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE! This building is an absolute nightmare. The management is completely unresponsive, and it's an unsafe environment, especially if you have children. I am stuck in a 15-month lease and regret every single day that I decided to live here. The security in this building is a major issue. There are no restrictions for outsiders. Anyone can walk in through the garage if they are followed by a resident or use the elevator to access the floors. Once inside, they can freely walk up to any floor, all the way to the 11th floor. There are no proper security measures in place, which is a huge concern for me as a mother. My daughter's safety is constantly at risk, as there are people wandering around the building who shouldn't have access in the first place. I've had numerous instances where strangers have been in the hallways, checking doors, and I have no way of knowing who they are or if they are a threat. The Butterfly entry system that's supposed to regulate access to the building hasn't worked since I moved in, making it impossible for me to let guests or deliveries into the building. I've been locked out of my own apartment multiple times with my daughter inside, and when I reached out for help, I was told it could take up to two hours for someone to assist. The fact that there's no one available to help, especially in an emergency, is completely unacceptable. The amenities are also poorly maintained. The pool and hot tub have been closed multiple times due to safety violations like electrical and chemical issues, which is a serious concern when you have young children. The "cold plunge" is not properly regulated--it's warm, dirty, and not being kept up to the standard promised. They also said they would upgrade the gym equipment, but that still hasn't happened, and the current equipment is outdated. The gym's access to the outside area is broken, and the yoga mats are old and filthy. In addition to these safety concerns, packages are frequently stolen from the package room. Despite having proof of deliveries, the concierge has told me there's nothing they can do, and I've been left without any recourse. The building is filthy because hotel guests staying through Kasa have access to our amenities, and they are leaving the place dirty and undesirable. The management promised us a luxury experience, but the reality is that we're living in a rundown building with little to no support. Management is completely unhelpful. I've submitted multiple complaints, but no one has ever followed up or offered solutions. Maintenance requests take over a week to be addressed, and even then, nothing gets done. I was promised clean windows when I moved in, but after months of waiting, nothing has been done about it. This is not the luxury living experience I was promised,it's a disaster. This building is mismanaged, unsafe, and not worth the price. My daughter's safety is my priority, and I'm constantly concerned that I made the wrong choice by moving here. Save yourself the trouble and do not move here. It's not worth it, and you'll be putting your family at risk. read more

I hate that I have to leave a negative review but feel I should warn others. I moved into The Lindley seeking safety and peace of mind after a prior stalking situation...something management was fully aware of before I signed my lease. That trust has now been completely shattered. A friend of a friend touring the building recently discovered one of my prescription medication bottles from inside my apartment in a model unit. There is absolutely no reasonable explanation for how something from my medicine cabinet or nightstand could have ended up there. This strongly suggests that someone with authorized access entered my home without my consent and went through my personal belongings, stealing medicine. To make matters worse, a staff member threw the bottle away, destroying potential evidence such as possible fingerprints or refill information, and then was combative, unprofessional, and dismissive when confronted. This was not a simple mistake, it was a serious breach of privacy and possibly unlawful conduct. She did not report this to myself or the building, clearly attempting to sweep the incident under the rug. What was supposed to be a safe home has now become a source of fear and anxiety. I no longer feel secure here. And I'm clearly not the only one, as several other reviews describe staff members entering apartments unannounced. I encourage anyone considering moving here to read those reviews carefully before signing a lease. You don't think it will happen to you until it does. This is not a routine property management issue. It involves unlawful entry, stolen property, destruction of evidence, and serious violations of tenant rights. Last week, a car was stolen from the garage. I would seriously think twice before moving into this building. Don't let the amenities fool you, they're usually broken anyway. read more

Tony and the leasing staff are truly the worst humans I've ever had to deal with in any apartment complex I've ever rented in my 12 years of rental history. The gaslighting, neglect, and completely disregard for humans this place has is truly one in a kind. After my partner and I had to move back to LA for family health issues Tony (and staff) were first extremely kind, then completely negligent while we tried to find a replacement during a really emotional time in both of our lives. We found multiple replacements to help with the process who eventually had to drop out because the lack of communication and complete unprofessionalism in the process. To make matters worse, they will refuse to accept any responsibility and have no issues or regard for you while they try to make you pay a lease break fee. It's truly sick the experience we've had. Probably should've known after we found out to get out of the low income housing requirements they made half the building a "luxury hotel" because they truly don't care about anyone. Karma will follow eventually, but I definitely wanted to do my part to warn everyone how nasty this complex is. read more

I have lived at the Lindley for a year now and everyone in the building has been great. I want to give a special shot out to Tirana and Gladi, they have made this place feel like a home. From getting greeted first thing you walk in to helping me allocate my packages. They make the Lindley great. read more

If you're sniffing around the Lindley, dreaming of luxe living, or--God forbid--considering signing your life away to a lease here, let me stop you cold. This place isn't just a disaster; it's a glittering, overpriced dumpster fire that'll torch your sanity and your wallet. Whether you're curious, desperate, or already trapped here googling to confirm your misery isn't solo, heed this scathing warning: DO NOT COME. Shared Amenities? More Like a Public Carnival! The first few floors are basically an Airbnb free-for-all, with hotel riffraff sharing your fancy floor 7 "amenities." Pool, sauna, gym, cold plunge (oh, we'll get to that cesspool soon)--all overrun by any rando who snags a cheap room downstairs. You, forking over 4-12k+ a month? You're just another schmuck in the communal chaos. They conveniently forgot to mention this during the lease pitch, didn't they? I met a hotel guest last week--some lady who threw a 30+ person kiddie birthday bash on a Tuesday. Picture it: strangers splashing in your pool, hogging your hot tub, leaving pizza crusts everywhere. Management? They just shrug. No rules, no enforcement, just a parade of interlopers treating your "exclusive" amenities like a Vegas dayclub. The Gym: A Towel-Free Tragedy. It's decent, sure--until you realize the promised cold towels are a myth. Why? Hotel guests swipe them faster than you can say "overpriced lease." The fridge is perpetually empty, mocking your sweaty despair. "Free Kombucha"? Ha! They hyped up endless kombucha like it's some bougie perk. Reality? The canisters are drier than the Sahara. Not a drop in months. Top-floor bar? Empty. Floor 7? Empty. Kitchen area? You guessed it--empty. They dangled this "amenity" like a carrot, then yanked it away without a word. The Sauna: Dim and DepressingIt's fine, I guess, but half the lights are now kaput, casting a gloomy vibe management hasn't bothered to fix. Once upon a time, it was fully lit. The Cold Plunge: A Biohazard Nightmare. Brace yourself. The cold plunge is so vile it allegedly summoned the California Department of Health. It's now "closed for maintenance" (read: shut down for being a public health risk). Hair, skin, oil, murk--residents found photographic proof the water wasn't changed for over eight days. Guess who's to blame? Those hotel heathens who treat it like their personal swamp. Management's response? Slap up a "rinse off first" notice while providing one measly bathroom per gender. Want to hop from sauna to plunge for that sweet therapeutic effect? Too bad--you'll be stuck waiting for some dude to finish his shower or forced to break their pointless rule. The design is idiotic, the management is spineless, and now the plunge is a ghost town. The Pool: A Guest-Infested Hellscape. It's nice... when you can actually use it. Hotel guests swarm like locusts, their telltale blue-and-white towels and keychains screaming "I paid $99 for this!" Underwater speakers? Broken. Hot tub? Packed with strangers for hours. Finding a chair on weekends? You'd have better luck winning the lottery. The Hot Tub: A Freezing Fiasco. Same story--overrun by hotel randos who apparently love pressing the emergency button, killing the heater. Residents whisper about it like it's an urban legend. Result? An ice-cold tub that takes days to warm up. Management's too dim to slap a cover on the button or a "DON'T TOUCH" sign. Genius. Parking Garage: A Lawless Lottery. Your rented parking spot? A revolving door of mystery cars. Anyone can waltz in and park next to you--security is a myth. Wrongly parked vehicles are so common they've resorted to towing. Oh, and guest parking? Doesn't exist unless you shell out extra and reserve it, a fun fact they "forgot" to mention. The Lindley doesn't even manage the parking app or company, so when things go wrong (and they will), you're met with shrugs and incompetence. Top-Floor Amenities: Not So Exclusive. Supposedly residents-only, but hotel guests sneak up like roaches, lounging in your space. The gas fire pits? Always broken because people keep hitting the emergency stop. Maintenance takes eons to fix anything. It's like living in a luxury mirage--looks pretty, works never. Management: A Masterclass in Ineptitude. They're not just bad--they're legendarily awful. Weeks to respond, if they bother at all. The Assistant Manager is a black hole of unhelpfulness. The actual manager? A ghost. Leasing agents are sweet but clueless, probably trained to dodge the truth to keep the machine running. Shoutout to Jennifer, the lone brain cell in this operation, but even she can't save this sinking ship. Front Desk Security: Where Art Thou? Don't expect a guard at night, on weekends, or early mornings. Packages go missing because no one's there to receive them. You're more likely to see a tumbleweed than a security guard. Elevator key fobs: The absolute worst. Front Desk Concierge: Sassy and Absent. List goes on - won't fit. Thank god I am out off my lease soon read more

We got an Airbnb for Kasa Little Italy which is in the Lindley building. Place is amazing! Two bedroom unit very well priced and the best part is you get to access the all the amenities all the residents forking over $5k a month pay for including a pool, hot tub, full gym, sauna...fantastic! Have we gotten a few death stares from the people who live here and know we got the place via Airbnb? Yep! Did we overhear a woman in the elevator tell her friend, "this place is like a fuc&ing Best Western? Sure did! Still though...if you need an Airbnb in a great SD neighborhood look no further than Kasa Little Italy! Thanks for having us y'all!! read more

Sigh. Since this new manager Kaliee showed up, it's gone downhill. Daily googling other places to live...again I ask what happened to Amber?? We didn't have these issues, and she knew how to talk to people!! I am FIGHTING them to remove extra insurance charges that continue to show up on my account (note: you **have** to check their monthly accounting - it is often wrong). You know what's the funny part? I used Assurant (their insurance company that they have partnered with) to get insurance for the place - and I provided those records on DAY ONE. so they are charging me double insurance for my unit, and telling me it's a "glitch". I am still waiting for them to remove the extra charges, even though I have continued to bring it to their attention. The parking situation - they farmed that out to Parkade so they have "no responsibility" - yet all of us are experiencing that if we happen to come home in the middle of the day, there's someone parked in our spot. Threats to tow us residents if we don't pay for a spot, yet no monitoring of the garage. Mind you a spot is $250 and up a month... Let's talk about the common areas that are now starting to look grungy and smell...the "cold plunge" apparently froze over and is out for months, and the sauna is DIRTY...don't get me started about the "free" nonexistent kambucha in the common areas. They recently changed the cleaning crews, and the bathrooms are now DIRTY, especially on the 7th floor...they go for a couple days at a time without cleaning. One of my neighbors has a kid, and they had a gas leak situation in the apartment that has left them extremely concerned. they barely bothered to fix it, and it's just whatever. Another neighbor moved out because their whole apartment got flooded while they were away on business, and these cruel people just ignored them and refused to support them getting back to normal, even thought the flood was their fault...they have a hotel right downstairs, they could have at least offered them a room while they were doing the construction. But we are nothing but money to them. Reporting them to BBB, because this insurance thing appears to be a way to acquire extra income to boost their bottom line - I'm not the only one it's happened to, apparently. Would not be surprised if this is a ploy, in addition to the recent new "service fee" to "provide utilities" to us (mind you SDGE and Conservice already have service fees for utilities...I guess Greystar found a way to jump in on the action). They forget that this is where we live, and good service is important to us. Not all of us are here to be instaglammers or sell services or look cute. We live, work and play here. Get it together, Kaliee and friends!! read more

Amazing place! I had an easy move in and set up. The team at the Lindley guided me from tour to leasing to move in to set up and amenities. The Lindley - Apartments Near Me - San Diego, California

The concierge here lacks professionalism. If someone is going to work in that position they should learn how to properly speak to people and also familiarize themselves with every system associated with the building. read more

This place annoyed me so much after trying to view an apartment I was inspired to write a song about how bad they are. 3/5 inspiration, 1/5 customer service. Yo, it's The Lindley, and they playin' with your head, Talkin' 'bout appointments, but they flakin' instead. After a misunderstanding we were able to reschedule the tour for another time and I found the building and staff to be top notch.

They're pretty terrible at keeping their scheduled appointments made weeks in advance. For a building that isn't even open yet, this is a terrible sign for what living there may look like. They also don't allow typical year leases - the shortest available is 22 months. I think you should generally also be wary of a building that isn't open yet - they usually try to get people in there before all amenities are available to be used. Hopefully I'm wrong. read more

I've never felt more confident and aligned in making a place my home as I do with the Lindley. My fiance and I are moving in this week, and the team at the Lindley has been super accommodating. We did a tour, and didn't feel rushed. We viewed several different units as well as the amenities (were what really won us over), and all of our questions were answered. Jenn has been really communicative and helpful in our process of signing the lease, scheduling our move, and any popcorn questions that have come to mind along the way. I've popped in a couple times randomly to ask questions as the building is currently a neighbor to the gym I belong to - and the team members that were in the office were also really helpful. I've toured and visited different high rises in downtown San Diego and Little Italy, and this one feels the best for a lot of different reasons. The lease was very comprehensive, but also made me feel secure in knowing that they address attention to detail. I'm very grateful for this property coming to fruition read more

I had such an amazing tour experience with Alexia. She was so sweet and so helpful answering all my questions about the different apartments. Place was great - amenities top notch, finish package was one of the best in class, customer service was fantastic.

We had a great experience! We looked at multiple buildings and this was absolutely the best option. The design, amenities, staff, views, and apartments were amazing. Jennifer from the leasing office was extremely helpful, responsive and knowledgeable. She made us realize this was definitely the building for us and made sure we found the perfect apartment that suited our needs. We couldn't be more grateful for her help. I highly recommend checking out this building, it's the nicest building we've toured and the best support we received from any leasing office. Plus, the views are insane! read more

I had to do a separate review to shout out Trimana at Lindley. You can tell when someone truly cares about the work they do, and the people they support...he is serious, committed, dependable, professional and passionate about our day to day experience. Trimana brings joy to my day, every day. He's there everyday - with a big ole smile...you would never know he averted a crisis seconds before you walked up to him. He gives the building an extra finesse to it. Thinks on his feet...always alert...he protected the building from quite a few unfriendly intrusions to the property already. He is the concierge everyone on our building depends on - literally, he is always on the money for solving issues quickly, whether it's a lost package, a reservation or just general guidance on life in the building. We are spoiled to have him...I mean, spoiled. He's the whole Lindley cupcake and the cherry on the top of it! I appreciate you sooo very much for being a part of my perfect experience here.
