Had a great day visiting the Rose district. So many nice shops! Tried Main Street Tavern for the…read morefirst time. The hamburgers are outstanding -- juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked exactly how you order them. You can tell they use quality beef, and the toppings are fresh. Also tried the fish. The beer batter is light, crispy, and golden without being greasy. The fish inside is flaky and tender, and the portion size is more than satisfying. Paired with their house tartar sauce and a side of crispy fries, it's comfort food done right. This tavern hits that sweet spot: great food, good prices, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. Definitely a place you'll want to come back to again and again.

Having reservations helped, and our table was ready upon arrival. Our server, Rebel, was the standout of the entire experience. She handled our large group single-handedly, keeping orders organized and service on point the whole time. Friendly, engaging, and attentive--she's exactly the kind of person you want taking care of your table. We started with Wings, Mozzarella Sticks, and a Giant Pretzel. The wings looked good but fell short in crispness and flavor. The Pretzel was solid, but the big surprise winner was the Mozzarella Sticks--definitely worth ordering! For my meal, I had the Chicken Club with a side salad. The sandwich was excellent, thanks to the perfectly toasted wheat berry bread that really made it shine. The side salad, however, was a miss. It looked fresh but lacked flavor, and I wish restaurants would serve salads on chilled plates to keep them crisp. Overall, Main Street Tavern is a solid choice for lunch or even after work on the patio. The food has its highs and lows, but with Rebel taking care of you, the experience is well worth it.

The chicken fried steak is the best in town, but the real showstopper is the fried shrimp. They are huge! Chicken tenders are also a solid option here. The waffle fries and gravy... I could eat those all day, every day if it wouldn't make me as big as a house. This place stays very busy all day long, but the staff are fast, friendly, and they do a good job of turning tables. It can get pretty loud in here, but they do have a little side area if you want space for private party. We've called ahead and reserved it in the past.

Before ordering, I snagged a 41 Peaks IPA from the bar... it was refreshing and seemed to come from a nice clean beer line. The waitress recommended the chicken fried steak because it comes with the white gravy Tulsa is known for as well as the green beans The Bros Houligan are known for. The salad arrived quickly and the rest of the meal not too long after that. First off, the honey mustard dressing on the salad appeared to be homemade and was super tasty! Second, this thing was the small portion?! They hand bread everything there, and you can tell. It breading wasn't too heavy nor too greasy. The gravy was solid. I could tell the green beans were super tasty, but were made with an ingredient that gave off the flavor you might find in a Belgian or wheat beer (isoamyl acetate), which I'm pretty sensitive to and not a fan of. All in all would recommend if you're looking for a place with fast, freshly made foods and don't wanna go to apple bees or the like.

I'm on a huge hamburger kick. Looking for mom n pop places…read more Having been to Tulsa a few times yrs ago, I checked Yelp and DDD and both had Hanks listed. And bing in town on business, I had to go. I went the single meat w/ chz and. Risky FFs. Hanks did not disappoint. Good ol' fashioned juicy chz burger. One where the meat juices mix with the mayo and chz and oh so good. Very filling. And the FFs so crispy. Yo won't be disappointed. Tip: for the best burger deal, get Hank's 1/2 lb special. Way cheaper than buying single patty burger, FFs and drink separate. It's a dbl meat.

The menu is straight forward, straight out of the 60's style, and the place was poppin' at 2:30 in the afternoon. I ordered the Hank's special with cheese and pickles and onions as my only produce. I also ordered tots. I found out later that I could've got them "loaded", which entails tots being smothered in chili and cheese. Next time for sure. My wife had the single with fries. The fries came out piping hot and for simple fries, they were crisp and tasty. My wife's only complaint is the lettuce was wilty, and that is she doesn't like the onions grilled into the burger. That's not a knock on Hank's, just her preference. Me, I love grilled onions on and in my burger. The burger bun was soft and melded with the burger and cheese into a burger nirvana. I look forward to trying their chili cheese tots next time and their milkshakes looked very tasty. We'll be back for sure.
