Passed some time today in this wee coffe shop whilst waiting for my car to hopefully pass its MOT…read more I have passed here many a time on the bus and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The shop is really quite big with a good amount of tables and a few comfy couches. The cakes ... well they look AMAZING!! All very clearly labelled with what ingrediants are in them however sadly not a cake available for my gluten free tum. They dont have a big food menu. Soup, paninis and jacket potatoes but thats not 2hat they are about. Here its all about the cake!! I was able to have the pistachio macaroons though which were so lovely. Will be getting some more of these! With great opening hours - till 10pm. This is a great addition to Vicky Road and I am only sad that I didnt visit sooner!

For the last couple of weeks, I've been walking by this coffee shop at warp speed on my way to and…read morefrom work ever since it opened just after New Year. I've often slowed down long enough to peer longingly in the window, drawn in by the impressive shop front, admiring the comfy warm interior and awesome cakes. This shop boasts a fine selection of tasty, sweet treats. They don't appear to serve anything savoury, so this would be perfect for anyone like me with a sweeter than sweet tooth. When I sauntered up to the counter, I was greeted by a lovely server behind the counter who was happy to engage in a wee bit of banter. Unfortunately, they didn't have any non-dairy alternatives to milk, so I couldn't have a hot chocolate, but as they had a nice selection of tea I wasn't too bothered. Confronted with the choice of so many beautifully presented home made desserts, I was stumped. After ogling the plethora of dainty delectables behind the glass for some time, I finally ordered me a nice Caramel Apple Pie and a strawberry / mango tea and settled to chill out with my book for a wee while. Total price? The handy dandy price of £3! Fantastic! According to the shop window, this lovely new establishment also provides cakes to order, including wedding cakes. They're definitely worth a wee look in if you're ever in the area. Support the purveyors of perfect pastries! :P

I've eaten here a few times and really love the desserts! I particularly like the banoffee pie…read morewith masses of thick cream but the sticky toffee pudding is also nice. My most recent visit was with a friend and her daughter and we just stopped in for cake on our way home from a walk, they were so busy there were no seats inside but it was a nice day so we sat at one of the tables outside. Unfortunately they somehow messed up our order so my hot sticky toffee pudding (they'd sold out of banoffee) arrived almost immediately and was cold (and half gone, despite me trying to wait, especially since it was making me rather thirsty so that was a bit annoying) by the time our drinks and V's meringue arrived! They did apologise but the drinks did still take an awfully long time to arrive. I've eaten dinners and lunches here before too and they're always nice, I particularly like their eggs benedict for a Sunday brunch, sat outside in the sun!

I really enjoy going to Moyra Janes for breakfast or lunch. Most of the staff are really friendly…read moreand attentive - you never have to wait long for anything to arrive. It is a reasonably basic but well done interior and it is always full which creates a nice buzzy atmosphere. Everything comes on nice crockery and presented well. They always have a choice of three soups and I usually opt for a soup and sandwich deal and I can thoroughly recommend the ham, applewood cheddar and chutney sandwich. They have a range of cakes which changes daily and they normally have something quite unusual - recently I have tried a pistachio and rose cake, white chocolate, apple and pear cake and victoria sponge - I can recommend all three! It is not at the cheapest of places but the quality of what they serve makes it worth it.
