The place looks great with the display of cakes in the window, and inside. You can book cakes to be made as I seen a woman doing, along with a display of cakes made in the back of the shop. I told the girl, I'm a chef and I thought all the cakes and shop looked great. I asked if she made them. She said the company makes them all in Polmadie area. I got a huge biscuit type thing. I could have bought one of their better ones, but this was good for me at this time. It was like a swirl effect. And it only cost he £1.10 I think. If you gave not been here, then it's worth a look. And the girl working was really polite and friendly too. Thanks. I'll post the pics:)

I went for the Black Forest slice and the other half tried their pecan pie and we also had a white coffee and a cappuccino to join it. The cakes were really nice and sponge was nice and light in mine and the base in the pie was light and crumbly. The interior was quite nice with a couple sets of sofas and some tables and chairs. There was also a bit of a view across to Queens Park which was quite relaxing. They also sell paninis and ice cream too if you fancy something that isn't cake.

I was pure curious at trying this establishment of amazing looking cakes. So when the CMYE Brunch…read moreClub popped up on events, I just had get my name on that 'I'm in' list. I thought if their cakes looked that amazing, the brunch must be amazeballs. I entered the grand looking coffee shop with walls of mirrors and a counter of cakes on a very dreicht Saturday morning. I was a bit late but fortunately when I arrived people had just ordered, I quickly picked from the menu French Toast (I knew what I wanted before I ordered to be honest) and a pot of Breakfast Tea. There was 10 fabulous Yelpers and we all picked a nice mix of various brunch meals. When the dishes hit the posh tables they looked pretty tasty. My tea was lovely and the French toast was a tasty brioche bread with a wee bowl of maple syrup to drizzle over. Now, don't get me wrong it did taste nice but I've had better and I felt like I could have had another slice, especially at the price they were charging. Now this place is not cheap. I knew that the cake was steep as I had seen the branch in Glasgow Central. Not only were my teeth thinking of falling out with the amount of sugar those mahoosive cakes have but my eyes were popping out with the prices. I really wanted to try the French toast with bacon but I just couldn't see myself paying over £7 for it. Maybe when I'm rich 'n' shiz. The staff were lovely and accommodating. I would like try their lunch menu and a slice of cake to see if they taste as good as they look. Firstly though I'll need to save up for the visit. So if anyone would like to support my next visit, donations are very welcome.

Pâtisserie Valérie is a very welcoming place where everyone should feel comfortable. Pastries are SO GOOD and sweet (just like the staff is). Moreover, the soft background music is making such a nice atmosphere!

Loads of different coloured cupcakes all waiting just to be eaten.. by you.. So get chomping! The extra good news if you are feeling guilty is that they are all made with organic and free trade ingredients. Everything is homemade and you can order cakes big or small for special occasions or because you just want cake. Why wouldn't you? If you prefer something even healthier they make delicious banana bread and carrot cake too. It's a really new shop, and thumbs up for being brave enough to take such a risk. They look like they're trying hard enough to keep the customers happy and coming back including delivery of gift boxes at a humble £5. Hard to argue with them really.

I dragged Stu out of his festering pit and we made our way to Grant's the Bakers. I had passed it several times while sprinting for the train and the smell emanating from the bakery almost caused me to forget all about the train and go and live in there. Hot rolls and hot drinks are available to take away at very reasonable prices. At 10.30 on a Sunday, the queue was out the door and spilling untidily onto the street. Builders, locals and hungover tramps waited patiently in front of the cake filled counter and sizzling hotplate of over-processed meats. The smell was fantastic. Thanks to the two wee wummin behind the counter the queue moved quickly. We bought 6 totty scones and hastened home to fry them! They were big, misshapen and had an almost meaty bite to them. This makes them high up there in my Totty Scone Hall of Fame. Yes, I do actually have a Totty Scone Hall of Fame. I am rather a freak, I do fear. Next time I think I'll go for an iced donut.

Its done up in very funky colours with comfortable tables, cushion cubes and seats /booths to be had. Their speciality is ice creams and deserts as you might imagine with the name! It is also quite big on the inside, it looks quite small from outside and i was surprised at how open and well done up it was inside. They have quite an extensive range of ice creams, waffles, cakes and sweet treats. I've been a couple of times now and have not been disappointed. Usually i get an ice cream sundae and its either smaller than i would like or just a range of lack lustre ice creams thrown in smothered in sauce. Not this place! First of all don't order two of these to try them out....they are huge! They have many flavours and types such as the caramel banana boat and the knicker-bocker glory. They are, in a word, immense. Tasty quality ice cream and ingredients, they also use fresh fruit in some of their ones as well as waffles, cakes, desserts and protein shakes. Its delicious, terribly fattening and bad for you.....excellent!!! They also havea range of tea, coffee and juices if your not for expanding your waistline on a visit as well. Staff are friendly and welcoming, happy to have a chat and talk about the menu as well. Great wee place!
