A nice place for a cup of tea/coffee when you need that break from shopping, there is a larger seating are up stairs with good views. There is a sofa hidden in the corner where you can have a cosy area to sit and nearby some armchairs than sitting at a regular table. Coffee here is good and a nice selection of biscuits and cakes. There where old china cups for afternoon teas but l don't think it works here the place just looks too modern.

Delicious treats!

Kimble's is a genuine delight. This is my absolute go-to shop for every seasonal occasion and birthday. There is a fantastically broad range of price points for their delectable goodies from wee treats at less than a pound to super duper fancy red velvet heart shaped boxes for the your lucky lover! This is a shop where you can find something a bit different and the chocolate is of a really high quality. The customer service is consistently excellent and the presentation of the stock is second to none - it really is a feast for the eyes and worth visiting just for a nosey at how pretty everything is. The wrapping and packaging of goods is really special and makes your purchase an even more special one. There is also a fab deli counter and a great selection of sit-in savouries and sweets from soups and quiches to specialty sandwiches and a well known afternoon tea. There are loads of seats and the location is fantastic - a fantastic wee shoppers pit-stop and a great destination in it's own right. I can't recommend Kimble's enough - an edible treasure trove for those with a sweet tooth or for buying a tasty gift.

Decided on a whim last week to go into Kimbles for some tea and cake with my friend and boyfriend. I had passed it many times and always wanted to give it a try. We were seated straight away which was good. I ordered chocolate cake and a tea, my friend had apple pie and an irn bru and my boyfriend ordered a panini and a coffee. The waitresses were not very friendly or helpful at all and in fact made me feel a little uncomfortable. The food arrived at all different times and they brought my boyfriend a piece of chilli and chocolate cake instead of a ham panini. When he politely pointed it out to the waitress she was very curt with him. The chocolate cake was ok not the best I'd had and my friend enjoyed her apple pie. Overall I expected a lot more from the prices they charge in Kimbles and I doubt I would return.

The top sellers are Thornton's Continental Chocolate boxes (which make an awesome Christmas/birthday present or treat) and their special toffee which I'm sure could be held accountable for many a hefty dentist bill and come in many appetising flavours. The shop sells chocolate sculptures that can be personalised for birthdays Easter Christmas or one of occasions as well as excellent ice-cream. Some shops also have chocolate fountains which are ridiculous yet genius.

Thorntons. Oh, dear, dear Thorntons…read more Here's a confession: I like chocolate. I really do, but Thorntons is not my favourite chocolate in the world, Milka is. However, there's a special South African someone who you can easily bribe with the Fudge Brownie Chocolate from Throntons. Whenever I ask if I should bring him something from the UK, I get that look and the "Only chocolate, please" (and here I was thinking I was sweet enough for him... clearly not haha). They are quite expensive, but luckily they are usually on a Buy 3 for 2 offer. The last time I bought the chocolate from their Buchanan Galleries store, the cashier girl did however not inform me of this - shame I would have bought more, she would have gotten higher sales and the South African would have been even happier, but alas, it wasn't to be. Now, the South African is not the only one who has a thing for Thorntons. My German step-mother has a thing for mints, something the UK is very good at. On a whim I bought her a bag of the Mint Crumbles. Boy, what was I thinking? Now every time I go back to Germany I have to bring at least an entire box of them (the sales lady at this particular shop was so lovely to sell me an entire box of 12 bags, as it would be easier to carry around, bless her cotton socks!) - and I almost sparked a family feud between my Father and her when I sent her a few bags randomly, and my father claimed them to leave them at his house (apparently for her) but when she arrived the following day, he had finished the majority of them. So you have it, Thorntons do amazing chocolate and mint crumbles that the foreigners are crazy about, and the sales assistants (especially in this store) are very helpful and friendly. I like their chocolates, but if I had the choice between Milka and Thorntons, I would always go for the purple cow.

My favourite has to be the Viennese Truffles, oh my goodness, they are to die for! I could eat a whole bag to myself and then still want more! I also like Alpini Bars, Chocolate Smothered Toffee, Special Toffee, Strawberry Whirl, Toffee Cubes... I could go on forever! This branch of Thorntons is one of the smaller branches but they still manage to get everything in, they also have an ice-cream section in summer and a chocolate fountain all year round, where you choose from sticks of fudge, fruit or marshmallows. I also love the kids chocolate section, you can buy little chocolate lollies which are usually on offer at 5 for £2. There are little boxes with packets of sweets and chocolate in them with stickers too. It's also great for presents, I once bought a chocolate gorilla for my brother with his name written on in it with icing, pretty fitting I thought. It's also worth noting that Thorntons stock a wide range of diabetic chocolate which is great as many places don't stock this. My first ever job was in a branch of Thorntons when I was around 16, I was just a Christmas Temp for a month or so but it was seriously the best job ever! You got 25% discount off everything, plus free tasting on your break and if that wasn't enough there was also a box of broken chocolate that you could eat as much as you wanted!

The chocolatier is a profession and he is forever making sweet sweet art at Thorntons. Although this store is quite small its convenient to stop when passing by and what sounds more comforting that the 'chocolate bar'. Yum and double yum. If you are lucky, sometimes the chocolatiers assistants are out on the street offering samples. I have tried and tested quite few of the chocolates here, and can say my all time favourite is the Vanilla fudge. Thorntons Sauchiehall St is a great place to be, its right in the heart of the shopping district and acts as a stool to rest those tired feet and put down those heavy bags before you set off again with the power of a chocolate full tummy to lead you on.

I thought if their cakes looked that amazing, the brunch must be amazeballs. I entered the grand looking coffee shop with walls of mirrors and a counter of cakes on a very dreicht Saturday morning. I was a bit late but fortunately when I arrived people had just ordered, I quickly picked from the menu French Toast (I knew what I wanted before I ordered to be honest) and a pot of Breakfast Tea. There was 10 fabulous Yelpers and we all picked a nice mix of various brunch meals. When the dishes hit the posh tables they looked pretty tasty. My tea was lovely and the French toast was a tasty brioche bread with a wee bowl of maple syrup to drizzle over. Now, don't get me wrong it did taste nice but I've had better and I felt like I could have had another slice, especially at the price they were charging. Now this place is not cheap. I knew that the cake was steep as I had seen the branch in Glasgow Central. Not only were my teeth thinking of falling out with the amount of sugar those mahoosive cakes have but my eyes were popping out with the prices. I really wanted to try the French toast with bacon but I just couldn't see myself paying over £7 for it. Maybe when I'm rich 'n' shiz. The staff were lovely and accommodating. I would like try their lunch menu and a slice of cake to see if they taste as good as they look. Firstly though I'll need to save up for the visit. So if anyone would like to support my next visit, donations are very welcome.

My duties were basically stacking the shelves, breaking up boxes and eating as much chocolate as I could on my lunch break. They also had this policy that any chocolate that was broken couldn't be sold, so you had to eat it. Needless to say, I was rather clumsy whilst working here, "oops there goes another giant chocolate elephant with chocolate truffles attached to him, nobody panic, I'll just eat him, seriously it's no trouble at all, don't mention it." Oh well, waste not want not! The chocolate in Thorntons is my favourite chocolate ever from the Vienesse truffles to the Alpini bars, I'm also a huge fan of the chocolate smothered toffee. During the summer they even have an ice-cream stand which is great after a hot day of shopping but at £2.50 a scoop it's rather expensive.
