"Oh, it's such a perfect day I'm glad I spent it with you" (Lou Reed) Feeling the warm sunshine as we sat on the roof deck. Hearing the smooth jazz from the sound system. Watching the boats lazily drift across the Lake Congamond marina. Experiencing stellar customer service And eating a fantastic breakfast. They all led up to a perfect start of our day with breakfast at the Launch. It felt like being on vacation in South Carolina! The Launch's hours are a bit tricky, so you should be aware they are only open from Friday to Monday from 8am to 2:30 pm. The breakfast menu is available all day with the lunch menu starting at 11 (Friday and Monday) or 12 (Weekends). The Launch has a big dining room and two outdoor sections. The rooftop patio where we sat held 7 tables to seat 26. A section of their parking lot is separated from the parked cars to hold six tables for 24 diners. Hannah, our server was great. Super friendly, knowledgeable, helpful with a memory that never failed. We asked for more coffee- bang! We asked for a "to go" box - bang! We asked for ketchup - bang! We asked for coffee cup lids- bang! We went into their menu's breakfast specials for a Pioneer Valley ($8.25) and a Robling ($10.25). The PV was two eggs with home fries, choice of meat and choice of toast. The Robling was two eggs, corned beef hash and a choice of toast. The Robling was mine, because I hadn't had me some corned beef hash in a while. It was very good, soft and tender with a lot of corned beef and a nice crust on the outside. I went for poached eggs and they were perfect. Now let's talk about their toast choices. You can go with White, Honey Wheat, Anadama, Cinnamon Swirl, Sourdough, Rye or English Muffin. Anadama was an unfamiliar choice. I used the old Google Machine to learn it was a "traditional New England yeast bread made with wheat flour, cornmeal, molasses and sometimes rye flour." Well that sure made my selection easy. It was fabulous! Two nice thick chewy slices with a hint of that good old New England molasses. Our two breakfast specials, a coffee and an iced coffee totaled a very reasonable $24.98 with a few leftovers to enjoy later. Without doubt, this was one of our best breakfast experiences in a long, long time.

Great find. Stopped here today with my monthly breakfast group. And we invited Fr Matt from Our Lady of the Lake RC church up the road. We opted to sit outside as it was a beautiful morning, w a nice view of the lake. Our server, Ani, was excellent. She (as well as the owner, Jessica) checked on us regularly and was very efficient and just seemed to do everything effortlessly. I had the Congamonster Breakfast, but had the home-made hash as one of my meats, for an extra $2. Well worth it. Came w 3 eggs, HFs, another meat (opted for sausage patty) and toast. The rye toast was thicker than most and was excellent. Plenty of really interesting menu choices. Prices are reasonable. Coffee is excellent and bottomless. All of us had clean plates, and left satisfied. Be careful, only open 3 or 4 days for breakfast and lunch. And happy to see that they did a brisk business today. Word gets around. Definitely give this place a try.

Amazing location right on the lake. Homemade bread and other pastries. This is a definite must go to a place. The staff was very attentive to take care of us on a very quick manner. This place does recommend reservations and it's very busy on the weekend. If you go on the weekend without a reservation, you should expect a 45 min to 1 hour wait! We waited - and it was worth it

We went on a busy Sunday, so it took a little while to come out, but the food was excellent! Everyone left happy.

My breve latte (a first for the barista) was smooth but packed with flavor. They're still working things out service wise. Everyone was friendly if a bit unsure. I didn't eat but everything I saw go out looked great. The owner told me that all breads are homemade so I'll be back to try the sourdough. Pricing is right in line with area norms. The coffee shop is next door to Lakeview Tavern so it's right on the water with a lovely view.

The vibes inside are immaculate. I was kind of nervous coming to a new coffee shop, and the coffee was going to be "the same". I thought wrong; It is delicious! 10/10 The staff is very courteous & friendly as well. I recommend this place. On the GPS it says it's "on the right" if you're coming from the CT side, but it's on the left around the sharp bend. This place comes up quick. Parking is decent, you won't have to try finding a spot for hours like city coffee shops. (I always worry about finding places to park my truck). If you're looking for a new coffee shop to try out, I suggest trying out Drift Cafe. Laid back, music is great. There is also outside seating for a beautiful lakeside view too!

Our server, Chris, produced menus and took drink orders. Although I am a big fan of housemade corned beef hash (and Drago's is exceptional), I was intrigued by one of the numerous specials, "The Pastor" Benny. It consisted of two separate towers of sausage patty on the bottom, then potato pancake, with poached egg and hollandaise sauce on top...and several spices. It was amazing, like a tsunami hitting my taste buds. The potato concoction was perfect, as were the poached eggs. Two of my friends had Granby Oaks, and the 3rd had several ala carte items. All of us were members of the clean plate club. Chris was excellent and efficient, and kept us well-caffeinated. Overall, great food and service, and reasonable prices. One caution...if you come on weekends, probably call in advance to see if they take reservations. They get crowded. 5 pastor benny stars

My wife and I were headed in that general direction on an early Saturday morning and this was the spot I picked. I will say, going in, I knew that breakfast may take some time and that Drago's isn't what I'd call, "diner-quick." That was ok with me because I had time to kill before a loose 9am appointment. It took a bit for us to be acknowledged and seated but I was ok with that. Our waitress was warm and welcoming and though I knew what I was going to order before I even left the house, the specials she rattled off all sounded great. I am obsessed with biscuits and sausage gravy and knew it was on the menu. It's not only on the menu but the staff's shirts all mention the biscuit. DAMN that is a good biscuit. It's a HUGE cheddar and chive biscuit (big enough for a sandwich). Paired with the sausage gravy and my perfect over-medium eggs it was a wonderful meal. My wife had the French Dip benny which she liked but would not order again. She felt the roast beef was a little tough. Hers came with a "loaded potato cake" which was insanely delicious. It's about the size of a crab cake, made with shredded potatoes and was so, so good. Of note-reasonable prices, many vegan, vegetarian and GF options (including vegan meats and cheese). The lunch menu looks really tasty too. I will be back (and I will get both a biscuit and a loaded potato cake to go, in addition to another great meal).

"Take the last train to Clarksville I'll be waiting at the…read morestation We'll have time for coffee flavored kisses And a bit of conversation" (The Monkees) Congamond Coffee & Café has a large and very beautiful seating area with a very eclectic furniture mix. I saw wood dining room chairs, upholstered living room chairs, small tables, big tables that would be at home in your dining room, sofas, love seats, and game tables for checkers. And to make things even better was the generous spacing between the tables, so you never get the feeling that you're crammed in next to another party who might overhear your deepest darkest self-incriminating statements. We stopped in for late morning coffee and pastries, and learned their coffee is a special kind of coffee. Their coffee is "shade-grown" meaning the beans are allowed to ripen more slowly to enhance the flavor. We ordered an Americano (2 oz. Espresso, 6 oz. Water for $3.50), a drip coffee, a Cinnamon Bun ($4.50), and a Spinach Feta Danish. I had the Americano and the Danish and they were both very good. I never heard of "shade grown" coffee before, but I was impressed with the flavor profile. And that Spinach Feta Danish was fantastic. Congamond has a big food and drink menu with coffees, lattes, chais, smoothies, and hot chocolate, breakfast, lunch, and snack selections. The only less than stellar component of our experience was customer service. Yes, our orders were taken and announced promptly, but there was no hint of friendliness, courtesy, or customer engagement at all. Perfunctory kind of says it best.
