    Surf and turf

We happened to be exploring the coast and stumbled upon the laughing crab, and were pleasantly surprised with a live band, fun lively atmosphere filled with dancing, a tight knit community vibe, and were blown away with the quality and taste of the food when it arrived. The taste far exceeded our expectations, and the price was more than fair. I've never had parsnip purée, however the surf and turf dish has changed that for sure. If you're in town I strongly recommend the laughing crab, and specifically the Surf and Turf and Cedar Plank Salmon! Rumor has it Paul Rudd was spotted eating here!

The wife and I ventured out and dined at the Laughing Crab which is under new ownership. We enjoyed the food so much we went two nights in a row. On the first night my wife had the Braised Miso Black Cod and Carrot Purée with mixed greens. The Cod was perfect! A real signature dish. The purée was good, the salad greens were underdressed compared to the salad greens that came with my Gambas Al ajillo which came with roasted garlic, grilled polenta and a Calabrian Veloute sauce with mascarpone and basil. That sauce! I mixed it in with the spring mix and would be a meal in itself. The shrimp were peel and eat which is okay. My thinking is if the shrimp were cooked without the shells in the sauce they would have absorbed more of the great sauce flavor. Whatever, I'll be ordering this dish often! BTW, the polenta was perfect, moist with great flavor. Night number two we ordered the onion soup to share along with two specials, grilled octopus and poke, two of our favorite things. Both came with, you guessed it, Spring Mix. All were well seasoned and enjoyable. We were both very pleased with the food. We sat at the bar one night and at a table the second night and the chairs are comfortable for my bad back. Waitstaff were friendly and timely on stopping by. The ambiance was nice, it's a great spot on Bay St. Enjoyed the classic jazz they had playing. They do have live music and dancing on the weekends.

Really enjoying the new warm artistic vibe at The Laughing Crab in Florence -- great food, fun atmosphere, and fun live music !

This place is so fun and bursting with positive energy! It was great to walk around inside and see all the amazing local art pieces. There are all kinds of fun seating areas amongst the art, seating at the bar and a few outside tables with umbrellas. I picked a comfy couch, relaxed and took my time sampling wine. The owner even gave my a bonus pour to settle a dispute at the bar on if it was good or not. It was delicious and I left with a bottle of it! She also had beer, cider and seltzers for any non wine drinkers. Great spot, glad I ventured in!

We are from Central Oregon and brought our dear friends from Florida to the Oregon coast. We discovered this gem of an art gallery/wine tasting venue. Owner was delightful and had a lovely selection of wines. And really good music as well! Really surprised with the positive vibes of this business! All ages of adults mingled and chatted with longtime friends and newly met acquaintances! Next time we are on the coast, we will definitely go back.

Very inviting and friendly new gallery in this great little town. When you walk in it's got this nice opening space with soothing earth colors and refinished wood. The front windows just bring in natural light to bring out all the cool handmade, (including local) art that's located on the walls, or hanging from the ceiling, to the glass cabinets. Gary, one of the owners creates fabulous metal work and the subject is usually ocean related. The gallery is about 2 blocks from the ocean after all. There are lots of other work such as driftwood and glass bead mobiles to lovely handmade bead and eclectic jewelry. Lots of wonderful paintings adorn the walls and many other items to look at. The prices are also very reasonable too. Finally, the owners are welcoming and easy to talk with about any of the pieces you are interested in knowing more about. I am STILL trying to find that laughing crab however. She's got to be around there somewhere.

With a storm blowing in we were craving some clam chowder. Homegrown did satisfy that craving! Unfortunately, service was a little slow because there was only one waiter. Luckily, we were in no rush. Appearance - The warm string lights created a nice, cozy vibe. (Maybe the rained helped too!) Overall, the food was plated well. Taste- Garlic Parmesan fries- mmm so delicious with a yummy aioli to dip them in! Would highly recommend! Caution if you're sensitive to garlic... be aware that the parmesan can easily be mistaken for garlic chunks! Steamers- My husband got this and said it was very fresh and he enjoyed the broth. I tried it but I'm not a huge wine person and to me the broth was very heavy wine flavored. Fried Fish Cod Sandwich- Unfortunately I learned on this outing that I don't really love cod. The fish on this sandwich was not very meaty.

Both were outstanding and way better than I expected. To be honest, the pasta dish was one of the best I have ever had and this is one dish that I am critical of because I have had really good Jambalaya pasta and some bad ones. This one was way way up there. The sausage was excellent and the chicken and shrimp were perfect, but the sauce made the dish. I can not wait to have it again. The whole staff was friendly and our waitress was excellent and very helpful. My only regret was not asking for a window seat when we got there. We had a reservation and there was a table by the window that was open, but we got seated by the entrance. A couple that walked in after us with no reservation got the table by the window which was odd. Again, not a deal breaker and I should have asked to sit there. I definitely would not hesitate to eat here again or recommend it to everyone. I am looking forward to the next visit.

The caprese was great alongside-- I was already full and still housed the house made focaccia and pesto, truly so incredible. for our main we split the cajun salmon with pico de gallo, mashed potatoes, and side caesar salad. delicious!!! I don't even really like caesar salad that much, and theirs is top notch. they split our plate for an extra $3 and it was plenty after appetizers. lastly, interiors: our table was perfect. they sat us right by the window on the water for sunset. I was only in florence for the night and can tell this is the best spot in town!

That they hire mostly young attractive women to do that. I mean that's totally obvious that this is true. The woman I wrote it to turned my letter into security, and even though I've lost tens of thousands of dollars at 3 rivers they kicked me out from going there for 2 years. I've apologized numerous times, that does no good. The security director doesn't care. Someone tell me I am wrong about what I said? Excluding me for saying this is ludicrous. I want to comeback, but these people are not forgiving at all! I was coming in 2 to 3 times a week for years of time. I also mentioned that the hostesses can get you free nights at the casino, and it's nice, but it causes you to lose more money for staying longer. How is that not true, and why should stating the obvious get me kicked out of the casino for 2 years? Now I go to 7 feathers casino where you have no chance to win ever! This is ridiculous I should be reinstated immediately! Read less Written February 28, 2026 This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This casino opened as a casino only, but they expanded and added a hotel within a few years. Makes sense, since plenty of folks visit the coast as a tourist attraction regardless of whether there's a casino here. I have stayed here once with my mom because she had the points to spend the night. The rooms are nice and comfortable. I only play slot machines since I don't know how to play any of the other casino games, and they have pennies, five cent, quarter, and so on--the ones you'll find in just about every casino nowadays. They also have a food court with a few different types of restaurants--a kind of coffee bar, a burger place, and a seafood option; they also have a more sit-down restaurant as well. I appreciate that they have a family bathroom, since that made it a bit easier for me to take care of the baby. Haven't won my fortune here yet, but I'll probably visit again to try.
