a basket of tater tots with a side of ketchup

Came here on what ended up being a little food tour as we're from Toronto. Normally you can't go wrong with pub food and we definitely didn't go wrong with this place. We went just after lunchtime on a Friday afternoon so it was pretty empty, but I can see this place would be packed in the evenings and weekends. Pickle Sticks - Pickles were nice and juicy however the breading just crumbled off. The seasoning on the breading was good but too bad it just didn't really stay on the pickles though. 4/5. Mushroom Caps - This is what pretty much made me want to go to this place and luckily my friend is also a fungi (see what I did there?). No but really, these were great. I could've had the entire basket to myself. 5/5. Curd Pops (or whatever they're called) - These were breaded cheese curds that were deep-fried. No difference really from mozzarella or cheese sticks that they also have on the menu but hey, their marketing worked well since we ordered some since they're "different". 5/5. Fries - Handcut fries. Can't go wrong with them, really. Their poutine must taste amazing especially with the curds that they have. 5/5. Chicken Wings - Nicely fried while still being juicy. As simple as wings are, they can still be made "wrong" by simply over frying but theirs were done right. 5/5. Fish & Chips - I ordered Halibut which is my go-to and it was pretty good. Even though I did take it to-go and reheated it in the air fryer, it didn't get dry and it wasn't overly oily. The chips, however, because they were cut on the thinner side it did dry up a bit more. I probably should've reheated at a little less time and/or a lower heat. If I did, it would've tasted just as good as it were when we had them fresh. 5/5.

Great evening out with friends. The waitstaff and owner were excellent. The hamburgers were excellent, small town charm.

It's going to be a tight fit with just three tables of four. Hang on tight, it's a culinary delight of Canadian and American flavors! Start with the dry ribs. Amazing!!!!! Try some Jerk chicken poutine. Fantastic!!!! Another beer/wine/sparkling to cleanse the pallet. Your going to need it. Cesar salad to cool your tongue down, cold romain with house made dressing with just the right amount of anchovie for some light kick. Finished with fish and chips, light battered fillet atop a mound of fresh cut fries. Mac and cheese three with truffle oil and shallots. Flavor abounds! Fete du complete with their double chocolate brownie to end this flavor extravaganza. Wow.... How one Chef in a tiny cottage kitchen can produce this quality of food......I don't know how, but keep it coming. Outstandingl restaurant and staff.

Simple menus with something for everyone's tastes. We had the burger (which was indeed homemade), poutine (best in Bala), salad and the mac and cheese. Everyone was very pleased. When walking in - the small interior will throw you off but if the weathers right - the patio is awesome. Can't recommend this place enough if you're looking for affordable and something the kids will love. Service and food were top notch.

We stumbled upon this place while visiting a good friend of ours. This place has a great open space…read morewith high ceilings. We were greeted with a warm welcome and the servers were very attentive. We ordered the steak, risotto with grilled chicken, miso cod, fish and chips and the ancient grains bowl. The steak was cooked to perfection. The risotto was creamy and umami-filled. The miso cod was light and was nicely paired with the coconut curry sauce. The fish and chips were 10/10, and the ancient grains was refreshing. Highly recommend the Leaping Horse Merlot 2021 Would definitely come back here!

If you're not fortunate enough to live there it's a great place for a visit, with entertainment, water sports, a nearby golf course, shopping, delicious food, and more! It reminds me of some places I've been to in Florida. Beautiful! We stopped in at Beach Club for something light to eat. Their lunch menu is a bit limited but that's not a bad thing. Everything looked so good, it took us a while to decide but we settled on the Watermelon and Halloumi Salad and the Lamb Kofta Pita. Both dishes were plated beautifully, with lots of colour. The salad stood out with appearance and flavour. Good call, Jennifer! The lamb/beef kofta was equally colourful and attractive. Delicious! A Spicy Mango Margarita was a great complement to this meal. The food at Beach Club was excellent and the service was outstanding! Highly recommended!
