Salmon was overcooked. Pasta was too salty. Seasonal vegetables were undercooked. Expect better for the price.

Service was good to start but became very slow as the waiting was chatting with the guys at the bar. Just one other couple and the 2 guys at the bar. Food was good but waited a while for a second drink after finally waving the waitress over (which I was reluctant to do). Irish coffee was basic and had to ask for the whipped cream. Price points are decent. We love their sticky toffee pudding but had appetizers so we will have to return for that another day.

Find it hard to believe the 3 slices of meat were 6oz. More like 3oz. Sauerkraut was average. Smallest Reuben I have ever had to date. Disappointed. Fries with the poutine were dry. Curds ok. Gravy was good. Wife had the burger which she enjoyed. I sampled it, cook was good and meat was on point. She did not finish it. I believe the server was the owner, and she took my criticism with a smile. She offered to redo the plate due to my criticism but because the service took to long, I wasn't giving up the plate. Too hungry. Burger and Reuben $38.00 because we upgraded to poutine and yam fries. $3.00 extra each for upgrade. I would visit again but service was slooooow. Looks like a good place for a beer. But nothing special.

Inside is very big and can accommodate large groups (best to reserve in advance). You can also sit by the bar if you like. Typical bar and grill setup - I like the little pieces of decor to spruce up the vibe. Staff were very nice, I'd really like the bartender who gave recommendations for first timers and explain the menu. Food Menu has a lot of typical bar & grill items, but with a Newfoundland twists since it's Newfoundland style. So definitely try dishes that are more known on the east end - like Newfie Fries, Lobsters, Cod au Gratin, Newfie Steak Dinner. The steak is a maple leaf bologna and not you're typical meat - more of the saltier and drier side. Newfie fries is a type of dressing that uses bread crumbs and yellow onions - again more of the saltier side, but it matches quite well with gravy as a poutine. Food pricing overall is very standard and not overly expensive. Portion sizes were very generous, had to pack it to go. Overall a good find if you're in the neighbourhood and traveling, great to explore and learn more about Newfoundland food.

The restaurant is located in a historic building and is tastefully decorated. As soon as I entered the restaurant, we were warmly greeted bonjourno! It felt like I was going to experience eating in a restaurant in Italy. My husband ordered the white anchovies appetizer and I, the aracini. Both these were throughly enjoyed. He had the rigatoni for his main and I, the bolognese. He had much higher expectations & said that he's had more flavorful guanciale before. He did like that the pasta was cooked a perfect al dente. My bolognese was delicious. The cook on the pasta was perfect as well & the ragu was some of the best I've had. We did both note that our pasta dishes was a bit on the salty side. My friend who had the same main as me mentioned this as well. These are minor things that can be easily corrected. Some other things I noticed was when our server refilled my glass of water, some of the water ended up on the table & she just left it instead of wiping it up. Also, my friend had the gnocchi which comes with mussels still in the shell & she wasn't given an empty bowl to discard of the eaten mussels shells so it just ended right back into the dish she was eating out of. I really appreciated being gifted a small bag of the strozzapreti to take home. I did enjoy the food enough to come back again.

The space is a bit tight and a little noisy. The food is a mix of Vietnamese tapas and classic dishes. I got the milk bread and spring rolls to start. The milk bread came with this durian butter which was interesting... the bread was nothing more than a dinner roll. I love the spring rolls and perfect starter for sharing. I had the pho and it was good. The broth is nice and well seasoned, though not as fragrant as others I have had. The fried chicken and mashed potatoes were a hit, the potatoes were so creamy. The chicken rice was average, probably wouldn't order again. The menu is extensive and so much I want to try next time. Sadly the service sucked, they were so slow in giving us menu, water, taking orders. No one checked up on us, and had to flag for the bill. I would come back once more to try their other dishes.

It's a beautiful restaurant though and had good vibes. Service was good although it did slow down as we reached peak lunch time. The items that took the longest to come were the pho but this was acceptable since we weren't in a rush. The satay pho had a good kick to it and there was quite a bit of rare beef inside. Next time I would probably do a little bit of everything for their toppings. I think more noodles could have been added for a large pho but I was full. Next time I'd come to try more of their bbq items and appetizers. It's a bit of a splurge but definitely has a unique menu!

Menu is a tad over priced, but I can't deny it tastes good. Not overly salty or oily as bar food often is, and I actually really enjoyed their pasta. It's definitely a great place to go for a bit of a splurgy night with friends where you're prepared to pay $20-40 per person. I like it for a date night to have some heavier foods that I wouldn't want to try cooking at home. The short rib pappardelle was the best. I love the flavour and it's not too crazy heavy, even though it looks really creamy. It has very beef stew type vibes. The chicken wings were well cooked and still moist. I think it was too much flavour going on though. You LOVE the first and even second wing. But by the third one, I felt like it was getting too heavy. I know though that a lot of people love that and can't get enough of it. I personally don't like too much of any one thing. The brussel sprouts I felt the same. It's really yum for the first few bites but it gets really heavy after a while. I think it's really fun to have the appetizers and share a main with someone. The foods are a bit heavier, more of a flavour bomb, but everything is executed well and the staff are really nice! We've even done take out and the portions were very much the same.
