    Chicken & Shrimp Pad Thai
    Lucy E.

My fiancé and I ordered from this location through skipthedishes. Our food came quickly and still hot, even with the rather large order we had. He very much enjoyed the French onion soup it had a great aroma of flavours and also a good consistency. He also had positive things to say about their Bison burger, the friend jalapeños gave a nice complementary kick to the flavour of the burger. I myself had the spicy chicken & shrimp pad Thai and was a little overwhelmed by the portion size, but obviously that's never a bad thing since I could enjoy it for more than one meal. It was our first time trying Charlie Ronicks and we would definitely order again.

    Naan bread

Every time I've had a meal here it has been great. I ordered the curry chicken for the first time, very disappointed. Watery, no flavour and taste like chicken noodle soup. Chicken was very tough and naan bread are harder than bricks.

My wife and I love this place. She does not like to go anywhere else for chicken wings. Every time we try the wings at a different place we both say. "They aren't bad but no where near as good as Ronicks." Prices are fair. Portions are good. I never leave there hungry. Service is good. My son loves their bacon cheeseburger poutine. Burgers are great there also. Highly recommended. They also do take out if you prefer. This place blows away the nearby St. Louis Bar & Grill (awful), Bollocks, Shoeless Joe's and Brooklin Pub that have similar menus.

I'm surprised no one has left a review. I moved to Whitby 18 months ago and spend the first year looking for a bar like Charlie Ronicks. Friendly welcoming staff great food and awesome specials. I can't recommend Charlie's enough I'm only mad it took me so long to find it.

(Only the other half as leftovers!) Greek chicken and goat cheese wrap and garden salad side

Love this place and so happy they are still providing delivery options! Portions are very generous and can easily make for great left overs or sharing. I ordered the Greek chicken and goat cheese wrap, delish! Will definitely continue to order from Ronnicks so long as they stay open for us

This place has plenty of seating and a very large bar with TVs all over. They have daily food specials, live music and karaoke. It had your typical pub vibe, dark wooden furniture and walls, worn carpet, regulars perched at the bar; the usual. It was a lot bigger than I expected.(That's what she said, ya ya) I went with the Fish & Chips and my friend got Wings with Sweet Chili sauce. The fish and chips came with 2 decent pieces of Haddock, coleslaw, tartar sauce and fries. There was a little more batter than I like, but it was still good. The coleslaw and fries were perfect; plentiful and crunchy! She said the wings were good, a little kick, but not much. To me, it would've been hot as she is a spicy gal! It wasn't until we were done eating that we noticed people coming back to the table with bowls of something. Turns out, there's complimentary soup in the corner by the fireplace, so keep an eye out for it when you're there. Service was ok. We waited 15min or so before we were served. A little pet peeve of mine is when tables seated after me get served first. The drink menu is all of the usual suspects, but sadly no craft beer. Everything there was extremely OK - not better, not worse, just really OK.

It was a mingling type of event with finger foods, including Bruschetta Crostinis, Cheeseburger Sliders, Fried Chicken Sliders, Spring Rolls, Coconut Shrimps, and Assorted Flatbreads. Everything was really good, with very generous portions that resulted in lots of takeout containers. The food, drinks, venue, and staff were all excellent! The DJ provided a great mix of music all evening.

I remember that I was very disappointed by the food, but at that time, I thought that they were just doing some experimentation to introduce interesting Asian fusion food in this culinarily underwhelming town of Whitby. Thought it would be a good try. So I decided to come back maybe after this place settled more, but then COVID hit. And we never had a chance to come back until today. Unfortunately, the food experience was even worse this time. And their beer went very far from my beer preference, serving a lot of beers with wacky flavors - looks like those beers are taking over their craft beer lineups. Food: We had # Charred octopus with seasoned tomato sauce, chorizo, Calabria chili, ink tapioca crisp. Well, Octopus did not have "charred" flavor. Surface had no crispness. The portion was huge, but the octopus was rubbery texture, dry. The tomato sauce underneath it was just too much for the octopus portion. Over-seasoned & salty tomato sauce with additional salt and spice from chorizo pieces. Do they want to make me thirsty to sell more beer? Yes that might have worked, and unfortunately it didn't. I waited for our server to order another beer but it took her more than 15 minutes to come to our table . # Jagerschnitzel : Essentially, schnitzel. Came with braised red cabbage, apple sauerkraut, Yukon mashed potato with "mushroom sauce". Schnitzel was endlessly huge but dry. Mushroom sauce tasted like can or some pre-made cheap & junky taste. A lot of mashed potatoes. Well suited for those who want to get a lot of comfort food to fill stomach with no intention of enjoying delicacy. Beer was OK. They have rotating beer selections on tap. We had tap beers such as IPA, Scotch Ale and Premium Pilsner. IPA was not as good, it left a lot of one-dimensional bitter aftertaste. If I want IPA then I will go to Town Brewery. Premium Pilsner was good. We also had Scotch Ale which was also good with nice Scotch aftertaste. Do I come back? No, if the food quality remains the same.

Ughhh, I left it up to my server to surprise me. The Chicken Souvlaki won! It was served open-faced with diced tomatoes and tzatziki on a pita, with a Greek salad on the side. It was the perfect size for lunch. The chicken was a bit underseasoned for my taste but the tzatziki made up for it. The salad was fresh. The ambiance was definitely pub-like, with dark wood interiors and a large bar. Although a bit on the later side for lunch, most of the tables were occupied. That's pretty good!
