Just went there for dinner as I was in town and was looking for a place to get a good burger and got me the PB&J burger with a slice of caramel Cheesecake and an iced tea . Burger was juicy and delicious but sadly enough the bacon in it was way too crispy for my own liking other than that all was amazingly delicious . Waitress was super nice ,helpful and sweet . Music was great in the restaurant and ambiance in general was amazing . Definitely recommend this place if you're craving a good burger read more

Come to Barrie's to dropped some stuff. I was craving for burgers and google search directed me to this location. I asked for their famous burger. It was good. The meat was juicy, bread is soft, and crunchy bacon. Nice place. Parking on the street. Very friendly staff. read more

it was the first time I had visited the Kensington, which was a surprise because i have been living in Barrie for six years. The service was prompt and professional. I had the texas spring rolls as an appetizer, which was the highlight of meal. it had cream cheese ,pulled pork , corn and the chipotle sauce which was the perfect compliment to this tasty morsel . For the main, i had the mushroom melt with fries which was quite solid and the cream ale which was nice change of pace. I would have liked to have sit closer to the tv to watch the hockey game and the neighborhood is somewhat sketchy. Overall it is expensive but the quality of the food and service is definitely there and when is warmer ( it was minus 20 celsius when i went there) I will definitely return to try more of the menu read more

This burger place was on the TV show *You Gotta Eat Here*, well what can I say about it awesome Slider Caesar it is a little spicy but I still enjoyed it, the little burger was tasty. So according to the TV the poutines are amazing I've had better by far, gravy was super lumpy but had a good flavour. My hubby has the Mexican burger he said he liked it we both agreed that the meat was very good quality. My son had the grill cheese burger he liked it as well. You get a sauce for your fries to dip them in I pulled something really questionable out of it gross!! Service was a 2 at best. Not a friendly atmosphere on November the 9th at about 3ish in the afternoon. The server wasn't friendly seemed annoyed at our questions, we had to ask for our condiments, salt, pepper etc. When the condiments arrived they were dirty :( Price was decent for 4 of us to eat 100$ read more

If you are looking for a quality burger with just about any topping you want, this IS the place. Hubby and I checked it out and so yummy. BTW -- big shout out for the staff -- they really work hard -- they were obviously understaffed this one day but kept things really moving. Hubby had a bacon/pulled pork burger and I had the cheese/bacon burger with fried onions. Hub had fries and I had the onion rings. The burgers were so flavorful and cooked perfectly. You could have your choice of bun but we had the plain one -- and was perfect. The onion rings were among the best I have ever had. Buttermilk batter -- very tempura like - light and crispy. Lots of different offerings and some things other than burgers on the menu if you aren't in the mood for a beef burger. Enjoy! read more

Gone are the days when downtown Barrie was strictly for nightlife and by day the only places to eat was a Hooters and a few forgettable spots. Now there's an endless number of options providing quality grub and an amazing selection of craft beer and cocktails. Kenzington is no different and providing a calorie count of creative eats that will make your heart stop... and I should know, I ate there. The space is massive, 20-30 foot ceilings in the main bar area filled with televisions a huge bar and lots of tables, a more intimate tavern- esque space to the back, a private dining room off the back room and an impressive back walled in by reclaimed wood and a fully stocked patio bar. The burger selection, actually the entire menu selection, reads like food based erotica. Bacon, chicken, peameal, poutine, and on and one and on. The burgers are the main attraction here for sure (hence the Burger Bar name) they have 5 distinct categories each with between 2-4 options. The beauty is you get to choose you bun (brioche, pretzel or grilled cheese sandwiches) and your sides. I was feeling ambitious and picked the "In training" burger off the 'Crazy' portion of the burger menu. In training comes with Lettuce, Onion, tomato, Cheddar, bacon, peameal bacon, Jalapeno popper, poutine, onion ring, and a fried egg. Served up it's taller than a traditional pint glass and requires some serious prep work in order to get your mouth around. The burger was incredible! That's all I will say, it was messy, but who cares about messy, it was delicious. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was my choice of Sweet Potato Fries, I felt they were kinda meh next to the burger tower I had just taken down. I was intrigued by their challenge burger known as The Kitchen Sink which requires 24 hours notice to order. As we were leaving I saw someone order one and it was a monster. I'm intrigued to try it but the; 1lb of beef, half a head of lettuce, 1 onion, 1 tomato, 6 slices of cheddar, 6 pieces of bacon, 4 pieces of peameal, 3 jalapeno poppers, 3 fried eggs, poutine and onion rings on a pretzel bun, scares me to my core... I'm coming back, maybe not for the whole kitchen sink, but definitely everything else Eatcrest Out read more

Rodeo fried chicken wrap was amazing! Mushroom melt poutine was kind of a disappointment. Gravy wasn't hot enough and the fries were really salty. The wings were fantastic. The porky burger was really good but the garparm poutine had a bit too much rosemary flavour to it. Service was great. All in all, a great experience. read more

We were visiting family and needed some food. Seen this place on you gotta eat here. Man were they right. The food was amazing. So much food. Kinda dimly lit. But who cares when the food was so huge you had to concentrate on where you were taking your next bite from or you could collapse your whole burger , don't even get me started on the poutine. Food was amazing and the gentleman serving us was funny and very personable. The poutine I had was the best I have had in a while.

A little overpriced for what it is. I don't like burgers, but I do like peanut butter. So, I decided to try the PB&B burger. I didn't hate it, peanut butter and beef patty is an interesting experience that I just HAD to do once. My parents had the mushroom and onion rings burger (I forgot the names of theirs), and they said the meat wasn't that great and somewhat dry. So, all in all, we just expected better meat for the money we paid for the burger. read more

I would like to share a fair and honest review so I'm going to start with the positive part of my experience. The food was exceptionally good and the portions were adequate. The Outdoor patio was pleasant and the overall cleanliness of the restaurant seemed acceptable. Customer service; however, was horrible. As per the children's menu that was provided to us, children's meals included ice cream. (Children's menus were not requested by us but they were provided by the waitress as we had three small children). After leaving the restaurant my daughter asked for the ice cream and that's when I realized that we didn't receive them. We were still outside so we requested that we can have the ice cream to go. The waitress met us at the front patio to explain they had no ice cream and if they did she would've brought it out right away, then she walked back inside. Here are my expectations, if items from the menu are missing the waitress should have provided one of the following two options: A. Offer a discount B. Offer an alternative dessert. Neither options were offered so I went in to complain to the manager. The manager's response was more shocking. First she said because of Covid they did not have the ice cream. When I explained to her that my complaint was not about not receiving the ice cream, but the lack of adequate customer service, she gave me another excuse, which was the children's menus were inactive as they are in the process of restarting everything due to COVID. First of all, the waitress never told us that there was no ice cream when we placed our order. As a matter of fact, I had to go back to ask for it. Something she should've made clear when we placed our order. Second of all, if the menus were inactive why were they offered to us? Lastly and that's what I tried to explain to the manager, What does COVID have to do with the waitress not communicating this at the time of ordering and offering an alternative? What does Covid have to do with the waitress offering us a menu that was apparently inactive? What does Covid have to do with the lack of courtesy from both the waitress and the manager? The manager did not even apologize for the inconvenience. What happened to customer service? What happened to ensuring the consumer's satisfaction? Is that also due to Covid? Those are some interesting side effects to that virus! All the waitress had to do was at the time of placing the order, explain the situation and the lack of ice cream availability, then offer an alternative. That would've been such a simple resolution. It would've communicated care and shown how she is going out of her way to offer exceptional service. And when a customer complains to the manager, their job is to sympathize, offer a resolution, and for goodness sake, acknowledge and apologize for the inconvenience. I am challenging the owner of that franchise to make this right. Ensure your consumers' satisfaction and perhaps retrain your staff on courtesy and customer satisfaction! I am NEVER going back there again! It's a shame, because they really have great food! Please note, I did receive a gift card (which was offered AFTER I had requested a refund) which I have passed on to someone else. As mentioned above, I won't go back there even if their food was free. The competing wasn't about the food or the cost (which isn't cheap) but about the totality of the service and experience. What's the point of dining out if you're treated so poorly. No class whatsoever! read more

Boring, white, basic. Just like Barrie. Don't waste your money, their fries are tasteless.

Just another dive on Dunlop, and Dunlop Street is a disaster, same restaurants for decades,Who is Mayor fooling?

I tried this place again to see whether the burger was actually good when it wasn't drenched in mustard as it was on my first visit. Ugh. It was not. I came to realize that the mustard was actually doing this burger a favour. The burger patty was so finely ground and tightly packed. This sucker was dense. Like a thin hockey puck. Also, there was this odd flavour to the patty; almost like a sausage in flavour profile. I actually consulted the menu to see whether I had received a pork patty by mistake, but no, this was beef. This was beef! Unbelievable. Why the heck are you seasoning a beef patty as if it were an Italian sausage. Tres bizarre. I consider myself an aficionado of burgers. I probably eat more than any sane person should. Here's what you need to do if you purport to specialize in burgers: 1. Get a very coarse grind on your beef - grind in house if you can and if you're a "burger bar", I don't see why you can't . 2. Loosely pack the meat. Don't handle and compress the meat until the meat fibres are all mashed together and unrecognizable. You know what, you can even get away with serving less weight per patty (although you'll want to reflect that accurately on your menu) because a loosely packed patty will end up larger in circumference than a tightly packed patty of the same weight. 3. Don't season the beef and then form the patty. First of all, this is contributing to you mashing the protein fibres together because you're trying to evenly incorporate the seasoning. Secondly, this leads to a weird sausagey texture because of the way that salt reacts with the protein fibres. Loosely form that patty and then just season on both sides prior to cooking. 4. Don't season the beef with anything other than salt and pepper. If you're a burger bar, you're purporting to sell good quality beef. Don't mask the taste of good quality beef with distracting seasoning. This isn't meatloaf and this isn't sausage. It doesn't need oregano, thyme, or anything like that. S&P, people. S&P is all you need. Geez. This is reading like an instruction manual rather than a review right now. I should probably chuck aside my career and just offer my burger consulting services to restaurants. read more

In a word, disappointing. Our server was super; the atmosphere is inviting, however, the chairs are uncomfortable; no salt and pepper on the tables, which I found a little odd. The wait for our order seemed long, I'm unsure whether that was because of the fact that we were very hungry, or the uncomfortable seats, or both. The presentation of Kensington plates is impressive and appetizing. Ours was a party of four; two had the Rodeo Burger and generally enjoyed them, both gave the Rodeo Burger average scores. My wife, who doesn't hold a high opinion of hamburgers anyway, built her own. The "Kenz Sauce" impressed her, but the burger and gravy did not. She stated that she preferred Harvey's gravy over Kenzington's. My selection was the "Porky" - a burger with pulled pork and cheese on top. The presentation was very nice, but the flavor lacked character; there was nothing particularly wrong with the dish, it was simply flavorless, in spite of my additional toppings of jalapeños and onions, The dish fell well short of my hopes. To summarize, uncomfortable chairs, a long wait for disappointing, not awful, but nowhere near my expectations based on the ratings. It's hard to imagine that we will be returning to Kenzington's as long Harvey's offers gravy with their burgers and fries. read more

I have been dying to try this place but ended up pretty disappointed. I started with the spinach dip as an app. It was alright but there was a big hunk of cream cheese or something that didn't get mixed in properly, so you were just dipping the chips in cream cheese... I was kind of upset that the only veggie burger option was the black bean quinoa.. I tried it and it just all fell apart and turned to mush..didn't taste like much either. read more

Checked out this place in Barrie near the waterfront. They have a small but nice patio and decent size dining room. A few TVs showing the jays game at the time, so that was nice. I ordered the Kenzie burger and upgraded the bun to TWO grilled cheese sandwiches. WOW! It was very filling but it was so good I finished it! Served with skinny fries and that was great too! Good selection of beers on tap as well! Service was prompt and our server was very friendly. To end, good food, good service! read more

Excellent craft beer list, however I've never been pleased with the food I've ordered. The burgers are soppy and undercooked, the poutine is hardly drenched with cold, barely melted cheese, and the salad is woefully underdressed. With all that said however the drinks menu is great and the back patio is a hidden Oasis on Dunlop. I wouldn't recommend the front as they often have live music playing that is poorly mixed. They have a great location, and decent service, but the food and atmosphere really needs to improve. read more

After a nice Thanksgiving Day hike in nearby Springwater Park, we were quite hungry. Unfortunately our first lunch choice was closed. We found Kenzington Burger Bar a little further along and decided to try it. We went in and asked if there was a veggie burger. We were told yes by the friendly hostess who also explained that the burgers come with a choice of bun, meat and side. I chose the pretzel bun, black bean quinoa patty (vegetarian) and house salad. Unfortunately, the patty was mushy and burger started to fall apart after the first few bites. I ended up eating the rest with fork and knife. Maybe if the black beans were mashed in instead of left whole, it might have held together better. The patty also suffered from under seasoning and even overloading it with ketchup, mustard and relish didn't help. The house salad was also bland and limp from being overdressed. Mr Leny fared better with his bacon cheeseburger on a potato roll. He said it was decent tasting but the patty to bun ratio was disappointing especially for what they were charging. We paid about $35 (not including tip) for the 2 burgers and coffee and tea, which we felt was way overpriced for mediocre food and disinterested table service. We both finished our meals because we were starving but we would not return nor would we recommend to anyone. read more

If you wander aimlessly around downtown Barrie, you may wander into Kenzigton burger bar. Entering you're be welcomed by a high ceiling and rickety PRETZEL BUNs! Food is good. Boucers are lazy and disgusting. If your looking for a night out with friends and your not half dressed and nineteen do not go here. I am 55 years old had three beers and when I returned from a cigarette I was refused entry as according to the bouncer "DAVID" I was drunk. WTF. The young crowd was on their way in and I guess they needed room. Meanwhile 18 and 19 year olds are vomiting in the bathrooms and a fight broke out behind us. Hmmm none of these people were approached by a bouncer or asked to leave. What a joke. I will never recommend this place or return. First time in 55 years I have been asked to leave an establishment. Amazing burgers and a solid craft beer line up. This is quickly becoming one of my go to places in Barrie. The Parmesan fries are hit and miss, I think it depends on who's in the kitchen...
