First of all, I was not looking for an over the top blanket of lashes...sure some are and it looks good for them/you, but it would look weird on me...my natural lashes are on the lighter side! Second, I'm just uncertain about anything cosmetic that needs maintenance. I don't do a lot of maintenance especially since I'm home a lot. Lori makes it a fun time to go and get my fills. She accommodates my requests, listens to things that might be uncomfortable, and is efficient. She'll take longer if needed, but doesn't seem to be struggling or taking unnecessary time either! At the end of my appointment when I realized I did not get the look/feel I asked for, I specifically asked if corrections could be made, including adding the longer, fuller lashes I had originally wanted. I was told that could not be done. At that point, I believed the problem was purely cosmetic. It wasn't until I sought a second opinion that I learned there were much more serious concerns. The technician who evaluated my lashes found significant issues with the isolation and adhesive application. The lashes could not be corrected or filled--they had to be completely removed less than 24 hours after getting them on. The amount of adhesive used required an extreme amount of chemical remover, and the technician documented the condition of the lashes with photographs. Based on what she observed, she advised me to request a refund due to the glue being "cemented" on, poor isolation techniques, and large chunks of glue being left on. What I find most concerning is that despite contacting Lori almost immediately, despite having the lashes on for less than 24 hours, despite needing a full removal, and despite documented concerns from another professional, I was still denied a refund. Once another professional assessed the work, it became clear the lashes needed to be removed entirely rather than "fixed." No client should have to pay for a service, then pay another professional to completely remove that service less than a day later because of concerns with the application. Mistakes happen, but refusing to take responsibility when those mistakes are brought to your attention is what ultimately prompted me to leave this review. I cannot recommend this business based on my experience.

When I called that morning to ask about coming in early, I was told I had no appointment on June 12th -- that I had been booked under an old profile and phone number for June 11th, and that I owed $150 for a missed appointment I never knew I had. I showed my text confirmation clearly dated June 12th. I was told it didn't matter. The error was made by the salon -- a new front desk employee used an outdated profile, so I never received accurate confirmation details. I have documented proof of this. Despite that, the charge was not reversed and the situation was not corrected. I also want to be honest about something I've noticed over time: concerns I raise as a Black client in Carmel tend to be handled differently than those of white clients. I'm not saying this to be inflammatory -- I'm saying it because it's my lived experience, and I think it's worth naming. I have no intention of leaving this city or this salon lightly, but I do expect to be treated with the same respect, accountability, and good faith extended to everyone else. This appointment mattered. I had a gala the next day. I came prepared with proof. I was dismissed anyway. She has one facial studio and one microblading studio - both next to each other. She uses Skinceutical products (which if you're not familiar, are highly-recommended and effective products). I've heard the brand mentioned multiple times from all the celebrity estheticians I follow on Instagram and had been wanting to try them. Julie kept my facial simple by washing it, doing extractions, using a steam machine, using this awesome light tool that zaps bacteria on your face, this awesome gel moisturizer that she said would hydrate my skin much better than my current moisturizer, retinol she had recommended for me (it was an evening appointment so she got my face "ready for bed" - yay!), and more. She also sent me home with a few Skinceutical samples that I'm excited to try. Super excited to go back and use the new products she's recommended for me. If you've never gotten a facial before, I HIGHLY recommend going at least once, because the products you might be using in your daily life could be worsening your skin without you realizing it. When you go, you'll at least know which products will keep longevity in your skin and you can't put a price on that targeted advice, specific and personalized to your skin type.
